I wanted to wait to complete my therapy at Total Health before I wrote this review. I had pain and…read morenumbness for years in my upper back and arm. This limited me from participating in sports, playing with my sons and affected my overall quality of life. After driving passed this place over and over, I decided to make an appointment and give it a try. I had an initial consultation with Drs. Locatelli and Tyminski. They were very friendly and thorough with their exam and subsequently sent me for an MRI. Confirming the bulging disks in my neck, they started therapy right away. This included manual therapy, exercises and their decompression machine. It took a while as it was a chronic condition, however, I'm happy to report I haven't felt this good in years! The PT I predominantly worked with was Beth Gaerlan. She is knowledgeable, motivating, professional and a pleasure to work with. I really owe a lot of my recovery to her. The entire staff at Total Health fit Beth's description as well, what a wonderful group of professionals! Truth be told, I really didn't want to go to PT as I was skeptical. After working with the staff, I wanted to continue even when they said I didn't need to go. Total Health gave me my life back and for that, I'll be forever grateful. Thank you everyone at Total Health!

The acupuncturist was great, but as far as the billing that was an absolute nightmare. I received an email last week saying I had a balance of $173 and I was being sent to collections. I answered the email immediately and called them and said that I was out of state that I could send $50 ASAP and then upon returning to I would pay the balance in full. Nobody answered my email and just this morning I received a second email saying I was being sent to collections. When I did call the office, they told me they would not take anything less than $100 and I explained to them that I was out of state and I was not denying the debt. I just was unaware of it and I was still recovering from surgery. Bottom line is this facility with the billing department is extremely rude and unprofessional, and I have no issues with the acupuncturist she was great, but I would stay away from this place because if you run into a billing problem, there is no communication and they are not willing to be flexible at all. If you're looking for Acupuncture, I community Morristown. She is wonderful and she works with you. I tried leaving a review under their website and I was unable to so I'll keep trying to do that and this is the best area I can do a complaint. I just feel bad for the older generation that might run into this billing issue and not be aware of it on a fixed income.

Debra Goldman is amazing! About five years ago I came down with what felt like a urinary tract…read moreinfection. After seeing two doctors in New Jersey--including a top rated Urologist-- and after all kinds of medications, I was no closer to feeling better or figuring out what was wrong. I was miserable. For five months I felt as though I had an UTI. Desperate, I went to Dr. David Kaufman, a urologist in NYC who had written some articles on women's urinary issues and seemed like he might be able to help. After a few months of inconclusive testing with Dr. Kaufman, he thought it might be that my pelvic floor was not functioning properly and recommended I see Debra for physical therapy. Dr. Kaufman told me to give it about six sessions and see how I felt. I had no idea there was physical therapy for your bladder. I mean who knew? At that point I would have tried anything to feel better. I just prayed that Debra could help me. After about 8 1/2 months of my "non stop UTI" I finally went for my first session with Debra. Basically Debra massaged ligaments and muscles that were tight and not properly functioning. She worked on different areas during each session, depending on where I was feeling pain or pressure. She also gave me a series of exercises to do at home. Debra made me feel incredibly comfortable during our sessions and clearly was working on a course of treatment that was very specific to my condition. After six sessions and about two months I was feeling normal again. Dr. Kaufman was right and Debra was a physical therapist genius! Almost a year of non stop pain had finally ended. About 3 months ago ( and five years after I first saw Debra) I felt some pain developing again. I took an antibiotic run which didn't clear the situation. Knowing at this point that it was not a UTI but pelvic floor issues, I went back to see Debra again. After a few sessions I was once again back to normal and feeling great. All to say Debra is wonderful. Without her I would truly have no quality of life. I am so glad I found Debra and so grateful to her!!

It was completely demoralizing and within 2 weeks of the immediate surgery I was referred to Ivy in Whippany by my surgeon's office. It did not take me long to build in Confidence with the entire staff. That includes all of the Therapists, support staff and Carla who handles admin from many angles. There process is very consistent and yet every therapist has their own style and approach. At first I had Justin as my primary therapist, but he was in the process of being transferred to a different location. My initial reaction was to follow him. However, after of couple of sessions with Bella, I decided to stay on at Ivy Whippany. Soon it did not matter which therapist I had for an appointment. Every exercise was diligently documented at each session and there was never a gap from session to session. In addition, getting a mix of appts with Bella, Michelle and Namrata allowed for a variety of style, tips and tweaks that made the sessions and outside motivation even higher. In addition, the energy level stays high at every session. Their attention to detail, skill and knowledge was extremely impressive. They had me on the golf playing full rounds 5 months from the accident and surgery! Tom J
