"Unprofessional Tree Service" would be a more fitting name. Insisted upon an on-site, in-person meeting in order to provide a quote for trimming one tree. Larry was pushy and argumentative from start to finish, refused to give a written estimate, rather pushed for an on the spot commitment. He acted as though I was putting him out by having him on the property in the first place. The response to me wanting to get multiple quotes was "You don't know how to run a business". Larry has no idea what I know. As much as I wanted to continue the argument, I simply found another tree servicer. One who was very professional, easy to work with, and had the job done the NEXT DAY. In hindsight I'm glad I had such a rude and contentious first impression from Professional Tree Services, as it directed me to another company who I can look to in the future. read more

Nothing but good things to say about these guys. The owner came by within a few hours for a quote that was reasonable and within a few days the work was complete and done with extreme attention to detail. You get what you pay for, and with this company the price is reasonable and they know how to make the landscaping look exceptional. Beds were cut with precision and continuous lines. They cleared all debris, weeds, grass, and bramble with zero residual left behind. Mulch was laid evenly and generously. As for previous reviews, the owner is a no nonsense kind of fella and I appreciate that, you will too when you see the work they do! read more

The owner has an anger management issue. He sped through our neighborhood school bus stop and when we asked him to slow down, he peeled out in reverse and threatened physical harm to the parents waiting with their kids, all while the kids witnessed. read more

Larry was doing work at a house up the street. He parked his vehicles on another neighbors private property, blocked our right of way, and left his vehicle running while he was working. When I asked him to move his vehicle off our private way and also turn off the engine that had been running for over 30 minutes with no one in the car, he was extremely rude. He huffed and puffed, yelling "Do you know what it's like to run a business?" and "We should just all get along." I do know what it's like to run a business and parking vehicles on someone else's private property, being rude, and leaving your engine running to pollute the area are all bad business. Apparently his idea of "everyone getting along" is everyone dealing with him blocking their private ways and allowing him to pollute their locale. Over heard Larry's workers talking about personal issues and it was depressing to say they least. I don't want these guys at my house and I wouldn't have them if I were you. We were looking to get a quote on regular lawn maintenance (mowing, weeding, etc.), spring and fall cleanups, and hedge and shrub trimming as our previous lawn care specialist is no longer around. At first, standard and easy, a quick email on their website and a response from Kathy (the owner, which we were enthused to see this was a WBE certified business), led to an appointment the next morning with Larry. That's where the problems kicked in. Larry was rude from the start, upon inquiring what our we were paying our previous team, rather than work with us and tell us what he could do the job for he sharply said he could not do it for that price, insulted our previous team (who was also insured) and walked off saying he did not want the job and left. We are shopping around for a quote from multiple teams, which is standard practice. Larry wanted an answer now and was here to "close the deal" so even if he was willing to give us a price, would he not have accepted the fact we are going to make a decision next week? I would absolutely NEVER use this team again because first impressions are important, and that one was one of the worst we've ever encountered. read more

Stay away from this business. The owner is rude and pushy and work is not professional. Did a fire pit for us surrounded by river rock but did not put a liner under rocks to keep weeds out. Put in irrigation system and we just paid another company over $ 500 to move sprinklers that hadn't been located properly. read more

Let me start by how I found this company. Online of course. I called scheduled an appointment and the owner (Larry) was pushy. Wanted me to schedule myself around him. The first red flag. Then when he showed up, I showed him the job to be done. While I was showing him the job, he interrupted me several times. He gave me bogus advice about my lawn. I wanted the roots from trees removed from the lawn ( 3 or 4 1" roots ). He said they will put sod over it and it will desolve. I knew he was lying. No one knows the lawn like the home owner. Or the property. I made that clear. He talked over me. So we moved on the the tree install of the job. I explained how I wanted three trees removed and three trees installed. He tried telling me I only need one tree. I then proceeded to the 13 bushes installed. He tried giving me bad advice, and or his way of doing it. The problem I had with this guy is that, I wasn't asking advice. I made that clear. I did extensive research on the job at hand. There again pushy and short mans disease. He began ignoring me when I spoke saying he had 12 guys working daily. Ok there again "who cares". It's not about you. It's about the customer. So he wrote up a quote of $7050.00. Which did not include trees $2,000 landscape lights (10) $1500 and he said bushes were included. Sod in back yard was included. He was not educated in proper lawn installs, didn't know about the tree disease that took down my prior trees, recommended the ugliest cheapest bushes available. He said quote "Call me anytime or text". Well I provided a site map that he could not down load from text. Then he never responded properly on time. On Memorial Day weekend I agreed to go to the nursery to select bushes because I didn't trust his judgement. (He was supposed to be at the nursery) it's proper to accompany a client. I mean I'm spending $10,000. This guy is small beans compared to other companies. So here I am on my holiday weekend driving 45 minutes to select bushes. When I get there I texted him for a question. He ignored me at first, then told me to "Chill out". I fired him on the spot and picked up another company on the nursery's recommendation. He never answered my message. This guy is arrogant, rude, unprofessional and not qualified for anything that you want quality. "I Do Not Recommend Him". Once again rude rough, doesn't listen, unqualified for good work. I was having wood delivered and left cash for the delivery guy. It fell from where I had left it and my mother in law grabbed it off the ground when she came to get my kids. The driver called stating there was no money. As I tried to see if my wife or somebody found it the owner called screaming at me and telling me his son the driver didn't steal it. ( I never implied he did) so after telling me I had no money that's why I asked for change and telling me how he made 1.2 million dollars last year that he didn't need my 300$. I found where the money was and attempted to talk to him again and clear up the mix up. He then began berating me. I call them telephone tough guys. Honestly I messed up and should have put the money in a better place. But the way the owner acted like a lunatic on the phone there was no way I would give him a dollar and wouldn't recommend anyone else do it either. His kid seemed like a nice guy so there is hope for the company in the future at least. read more

The company was in the area providing tree removal service to a nearby house, so our neighbor asked for a quote to remove branches from our 200 year old beech tree that were hanging over his roof. We spoke with Larry from Professional Tree along with our neighbor. He was arrogant, rude, kept saying if we had "those kinds of questions" we'd have to ask an arborist. If you own a tree company wouldn't you want to have an arborist on staff? Our concern was incurring damage to the tree and how much to take off. He was very loosely-goosey with his answers. He quoted $900 and we told him we'd get back to him. We suggested to our neighbor that he contact a more reputable firm we'd done business with before and that person came out with a quote of $700, but he was so far out in scheduling that months went by and the work wasn't getting done. Our neighbor asked Professional Tree to come out and discuss it again and he boosted the price to $1500 because "we'd stiffed him out of the job before." Our neighbor was desperate because his roof got no sun and lots of beech nuts and branches in the winter, so he, against our better judgement authorized the work. We asked Larry to contact us prior to the work being done so we could be here, and we're retired so timing is usually not an issue. He called our neighbor the night before he was coming, and we happened to be away. He never notified us. The contract states the company can show up at any time, is no liable if the tree dies, etc. etc. so they are NOT LIABLE FOR ANYTHING. We contacted Kathy, the business owner, and asked her to postpone until we could get home, which, with lots of back and forth calling she actually pulled off. When they arrived the next day Larry demanded the payment before the job was done. We refused, and said the written checks (we agreed, to be neighborly, to pay half) would be held by the neighbor until the work was completed and our neighbor was satisfied. The young men tree cutters working for this company are very good and knowledgable, and eased my fears about hurting the tree, obviously something Larry didn't care about when he told me the draught had stressed the tree and it could die. THEY should be talking to customers, instead of this abrasive, unprofessional jerk. The amount of stress we endured around this process, as well as knowing he screwed us on price because he was pissed at losing the job originally made for a totally unpleasant experience. The woman who owns this business would do herself a favor and lose him. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more
