We went back and forth and finally said just do the fence and refund the difference. They agreed. But then not only used the wrong color paint, only painted one side of the fence, but also disappeared and never gave us the refund. They kept saying they would but needed more time. it's been months and clearly they have no intention of repaying. I tried to even offer $10 per week to pay it off or do other work to pay it off.
