My entire family has gotten their taxes done here FOREVER, and while I'm not sure why or how this came about, I AM sure I'm terrible at math and adult things, so I follow suit. I've been getting my taxes done here for as long as I've been filing taxes and I love them - they're personable, hardworking, they never steer me wrong, they ask a zillion great questions, and I'm always pleased with the outcome (I mean c'mon, they're not miracle workers, they can't magically get me a bigger refund). Since I've never gone anywhere else to get my taxes done, I don't know how "reasonable" their prices are, but given that my hubs has his his done online through H&R Block and there's no real person to check his work or tell him he's being an idiot and he pays only slightly less than I do, I think it's a pretty good deal. Though lots of you whipper snappers probably have gone the route of turbo tax and other online tax preparers, I'm just not 100% comfortable with that. Until I get there, I'll continue to come here - where I'm confident they'll do an awesome job, and they remember my face year after year.

STAY AWAY!!! We went here for our deceased MOL taxes, as they had used them for the last several…read moreyears preceding her passing, so figured they would have that added advantage, so we gave Maureen all the docs for the regular and trust taxes...and she processed them altogether! Once we questioned the amount, she rechecked and noticed some of the trust related docs vs the 'regular' docs, and noted that she doesn't do trust taxes, and that would have to go to her husband Ken at the Lombard location. Well months (nearly mid June)and dozens of unreturned calls later, we finally get them done, and he wouldn't reduce the fee, despite the ridiculously long time he had them and the late penalties we incurred...DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I can live with the cost, but NOT the complete lack of response and no sense of urgency getting this done with a very well known deadline. I did show the completed packet to another tax service, and while they said it appeared correct, they noted it was very straight forward and should have been done very quickly....oh well, live and learn!

Each and every year my husband and I have a very difficult time filing for our tax returns. We just moved to the area from Louisville Metro, and we called around to five or six different tax firms. We were lucky if they told us up front that they had no training to handle our situation, and that happened a lot. On one unfortunate incident, we had an appointment and after an hour and a half the young woman sitting on the other end of the desk claimed that we owed the federal government $11,000.00. We knew it was impossible and insisted that she correct it. We were given a response of "I'll have my manager call you back." Three weeks later and we've yet to receive an answer from them. Thank heavens my husband called VT! During the initial phone conversation, the accountant quoted verbatim the law regarding our special circumstances. They are booked far in advance (I can see why), but the wait is worth it. After a bit of conversation, it did not take long to realize that there was a wealth of talent in that office. They also provide financial planning, deal with Roths, and business plans.
