I will never, ever return to this ER. They don't ever (ok five hours later) return to check on you (I wasn't hooked up on monitor, they would never know if I was alive). Wait times are horrible. in my opinion, they act like they are inept (drs, secretaries and nurses) and absolutely no compassion. I was told there is only one adult dr. on at all times. If you think your visit will be quick, it will not. I had a very bad experience. If you have a choice, pick a different ER. On top of it all, it's not very clean. They had a universal linen cart in my room that they could access from the hallway. This seems unsanitary not to mention other patients stinky linen stinking up MY room! Germs anyone? Gross. I'm writing this from the standpoint of a visitor. My sister had major back surgery Thursday. I went last early-evening to visit. Upon entry, I walked to the reception desk and asked for her room. The lovely receptionist gave me the room number and how to get there. Very clear instructions. When I got to the floor, all the signs were so clear and specific, I had no trouble finding the room. EVERY room in this hospital is a private room . . . how delightful! I know we've gone a long way from the "wards" to the double rooms, but really, private rooms are essential. In the room there were two visitor chairs and a couch that makes into a bed for overnight stays. Who thought of that??!! So perfect! It was so quiet and so clean and everything was so unobtrusive!! What a great place to convalesce. During the time I was there, two clinical people came in . . . one to get vitals, the other was her nurse, Marty. Marty was overhearing our conversation, and joined in with some interesting info and banter. What a pleasant fellow, and he performed all his tasks with minimal intrusion. Also at this time, my sister got a call from the dining room asking what her order was for dinner. She hadn't placed her order yet, and they were inquiring. HOLY COW! Evidently at Progress West, you order your meal (whichever meal it would be time for) by just calling when you're ready to eat. And if you haven't ordered, they call to remind you!! And they know if you have dietary restrictions. My sister said she asked for something for lunch, and was told she couldn't have it, because of doctors' orders. What a great idea!! I'd like to have that EVERY time I eat. When some guests had departed, my sister called to put in her dinner order, and my brother-in-law also got on the phone to order his dinner. As a patient, you get one complimentary tray for a family member every day. How considerate!! Such simple things!! They go a long way! When I left, all the signs were on the wall to direct me appropriately to get out of the place. Navigation is so important. And I didn't have to walk 17 miles to get to my car, or pay for parking! read more

I just returned from a two day stay at Progress West. For the most part, the nurses and doctors were very nice. However, Amanda who was working on the 3rd floor tonight 1/7/21 was horrific. I had my procedure shortly after one o'clock and at 5:45 I was managed to get discharged. She was rude, had an attitude and he sarcasm was over the top. At first I thought maybe I was just being grumpy but when I got in the car with my wife, I asked her, "Tell me the truth. Was it me or her?" My wife said that the other nurses were much nicer than Amanda. I'll be making some phone calls to the higher-ups at this hospital to complain about her. read more

I had a minor health emergency last year. I first went to a nearby urgent care that couldn't/wouldn't do anything for me, including getting me something to get sick in. The one thing I did convince them to do was call ahead to Progress West to let them know I'd be coming there next. Progress West asked "Are you Julie?" as I walked in, had all the paperwork prepped for what my situation was and got me to a room as quickly as possible. They put me on anti-nausea meds immediately and followed up on some tests I'd previously had run. They got me a quick diagnosis, made sure I was comfortable with the people in the room hearing the diagnosis, and went on to start treatment. I was out the door very quickly all things considered. I had a list of prescriptions given to me that I wish had been explained a bit more but were all allowed to be received in generic form so I could save on cost. The billing process was so easy here. I paid my co-pay up front from my hospital bed and the bill that came a few weeks later clearly broke down all the services I got and was still cheaper than what the urgent care tried to bill me for. No haggling, no phone calls, they got it right the first time. Outside of my experience, I love their twitter wait times listed. My brother had to come here when he had pneumonia and he seemed to really enjoy the peace and quiet of his stay here. I loved my private room even in the ER. The staff was nice both as a patient and as a concerned family member. read more

I was in the ER here for 4 hours having extreme chest pain, I was constantly asking for help and got told they are busy just have to wait. Well then someone comes into the room next to me for a bump on the head (who was over there also joking loudly about inserting butt plugs so doubt they were that bad off) yet they got seen within 10 mins, so I figured the doctor would at least be seeing me soon. Nope 30 mins later no doctor, still no help. So I left still having severe chest pains, so yeah great hospital to go to if you want to hear in depth conversations about butt plugs and being ignored by doctors. read more

Thee worst hospital in O'Fallon. Wouldve been better off going to an urgent carw but the closet urgent care is no better Total Access Urgent Care. I came in for a possible sprained wrist from an assault that took place the night before. This is not my 1st bad experience with this ER department but will be my last. Never again! Patient rang for assistance no one came to the run to the room. When family showed up saw the attending nurse passing the room going in a different direction. Went to the nurses station to ask for assistance for the patient to use the restroom and had to call out to the nurse multiple times to have her turn around and attend to the patients needs. Patient sat in urine soaked clothing for two days and not one nurse inquired or made any suggestions to relieve the discomfort. It wasn't until a family member suggested that maybe a catheter should be provided since the patient was not mobile. read more

To start off, the doctors and nursing staff were great and provided great care to my wife and newborn daughter while we were there. However, their billing department is a nightmare and an unorganized mess! Date of service was 10/31/18 when we had our baby, and today 06/27/19 we are still dealing with billing. We have called multiple times in regards to the billing department not billing secondary insurance for my wife. They kept telling us that they would bill secondary insurance on multiple occasions that we called. When I called back to verify, many of the calls that we had were not even in the account notes that I had even reached out to talk. I had also called the secondary insurance to verify that they resubmitted the claim and they had not. Since we had not paid due to their negligence, our account was sent into collections. Needless to say this is unacceptable and leaves a bad taste in our mouths. read more

My mom went to the ER with gout. She had gout 3 months prior. Red, swollen, can't walk or touch. She was diagnosed with Plantarfaciotis. And yes, Dr. was told she had gout prior. They checked her out to a nursing facility. She had to wait for 2 hours in the hospital waiting room! I asked to speak to the social worker and he/she would NEVER come out. Sent messages out to me. During that time in the waiting room, she had to go to the bathroom. I asked for assistance since she could not walk. Since she was checked out it took them a good 20-30 to determine that they would help. I even asked for a bedpan. The WORSE experience and misdiagnosis I have ever witness. End of the story, she got to the nursing facility because they told us to come on over (not the social worker who we were waiting on the OK from) and they told me they could check her for gout. Yes, she had gout and her numbers were high. Why Progress West did not check her for gout, I have no idea. I would NEVER, EVER send anyone to that hospital. If they can misdiagnosis gout what else? And the service on just a low level need was very, very poor. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Terrible service. Lady was very rude on the phone. Was billed a large amount and was told that insurance covered (already called my insurance and they are saying they have paid it and it shows on my account online that it has been paid). Now 4 months later the hospital calls out of nowhere saying they need the amount and that no one had paid. When asked what I need to do and the steps I need to take, and she told me "I don't know but either you need to pay or have them pay". I'm coming to you with a concern about a large bill and you want to make a comment like that? How unprofessional and rude can you be when I'm coming to you with a concern that the hospital should be taking care of. WORST E.R. experience ever. Laid in pain in ER room over 2 hours and not once did a nurse check in on me, offer me a blanket or anything. Doctor finally came and ordered a cat scan but no MRI because of "insurance". Got there at 11 and finally left at 6 with no diagnosis, meds that aren't working and instructions to call primary physician for MRI. Total waste of time. So glad I only had extreme pain and not a life-threatening illness. read more

Went to center pointe first (we moved here from Virginia this year and hadn't needed a hospital so we were ignorant to where to go), center pointe directed us to Progress West...Went to the ER on 12/23, was seen instantly! The staff, nurses, doctors were so nice and accommodating! Had an emergency appendectomy, stayed over night on the 3rd floor and again the staff, nurses and docs were amazing!!! Felt so bad that they were working on Christmas Eve but they were all in good spirits and so wonderful!!! If an emergency arises again I will know my children, and husband will be in good hands at this hospital!!! If I could give them 10 stars I would!!! Do not go here. Go to St Joe's or somewhere else. They misdiagnosed my son and within 12 hrs I had to take him to St Luke's ER who did more testing than a freaking throat swab on my son. They refused to do blood work or a CT scan despite him habing a SWOLLEN face. I filed a complaint because two $150 copay charges in a 12 hr period is ridiculous when Progress West didnt even do anything AND they misdiagnosed him. I rec'd a letter saying they'd waive the copay and here it is months later and I am still getting a bill from their hospital/billing department. I also have a friend now who is fighting them because they said her visit there between the hrs of 10pm-8am was NOT AN EMERGENCY. It was 4am and she had severe stomach pain and her bp was elevated. It was severe enough they did a CT scan. But now she is being sent a bill because they said it wasnt an emergency?! read more

I was admitted to PW on referral from Total Access Urgent Care due to a lung abscess that was seen on an x-ray and CT. PW immediately saw to it that I was taken into the ER for evaluation and determined that I needed hospitalization for treatment due to the lung abscess and also pneumonia that I had incurred. The staff in the ER as well as the staff on the 4th floor were excellent with the care that was provided to me. If it hadn't been for the prompt attention and care given to me, I might not be here writing this review today. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone without hesitation. I also have had follow up visits done at the doctor's bldg. adjoining the hospital and received just as high of care as I did at the hospital. I was here for a very very long time, nearly 5 hours from beginning to end. It was an extremely busy night, at one point patients were on beds near the nurses' station waiting for rooms. The nurses, staff and doctor were all very helpful and professional, just busy and trying their best to triage and meet the needs of all patients. However, it was a very long wait. I did see Dr. Weston and found him to be very thorough, kind and compassionate. He answered all of my questions and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Horrible hospital don't go there!I Brought my daughter here on Easter she had been severely sick with swollen lymph nodes, headaches, fevers. She was seen by Dr. Raja and a nurse with a negative attitude. They took blood and would be tested for mono, which was what we believed she had, He never ran the test! Went to primary care next day a mono test done, she indeed does have mono. It's very frustrating that Dr. Raja and his bad judgement kept us from knowing her real sickness. Both the doctor and nurse made us feel as if we were a burden to them. Parents please consider going elsewhere before visiting this poor excuse of a hospital. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the outpatient surgery experience at progress West I was told you arrive at 8 AM I got there about 740 my IV was started and I was ready and prepped for surgery in a matter of 20 minutes! Everyone was so kind and friendly. Looked as if they actually enjoyed their jobs. I'm terrible at remembering names but I believe my nurses name was Tracy she was wonderful I greatly appreciate it her even though she knew I was a nurse she didn't treat me as if I knew everything about nursing which is how some places are she took the time to use lidocaine before starting my IV and explaining what drug is for what and the side effects of each. I felt very safe having her. I can also not say enough good things about Dr. Sandberg she is so down to earth and does not talk over your head. Surgery experience all in all was 10 times better than my visit to the ER at progress a couple nights before. Anesthesiologist very kind and calmed my nerves about going under. I have no complaints of a single person that I encountered on this visit. Thank you all for doing what you do. read more

I was at the ER two days ago due to severe abdominal pain. The whole experience was like being in the twilight zone. The nurses acted like robots that obviously didn't care about the patient. The only "attending" was a PA, nothing against them but you would expect an MD to run an ER, not a PA. That man was rude and had zero bedside manners. He did a mediocre exam and when pressing on my abdomen, he pressed so hard that made my pain go back to 10/10, scream, and grabbed his arm for him to stop. For that, I got yelled a "don't touch me!!" If I wasn't so ill I would've said a thing or two. They just wanted to pump meds on me, gave me morphine, and left me hanging for hours. My companion asked when was the CT scan going to get done and the rude nurse rambled on about other patients having more priority. Thank God I wasn't on my way to a bowel rupture of some sort! The CT tech was the only nice person that talked to me. The nurse changed shifts to this male nurse that kept removing his face mask (during COVID mind you) and doing everything with no gloves. The next door triage room kept having patients with an extremely loud nurse that seemed like was on crack. The patients seemed to be discharged rather quickly for what it seemed was something that needed to be looked more into. They wanted to send me home ASAP and kept pushing to try and get ready when I was getting sick and continuously vomiting. I will NEVER go back to that place and I recommend everyone to find somewhere else to go for an emergency. read more

I was here for outpatient surgery in May. From a care standpoint, I think I received great care from my nurse. The nurse who was with me most of the day was wonderful. The onlyl reason I gave a 4 rather than 5 stars is because......as the day was coming to an end and I was still sick after my outpatient surgery, I kind of felt rushed out of the recovery area by the other staff who had taken over. I had a horrible reaction to the anesthesia and was having trouble breathing and was really naseous. They took me to the car in a wheel chair with an emisis basin in case I threw up on the way home. they also gave me discharge instructions that were wrong. The doctor had said no weight bearing for 2 weeks to me in the office and in the pre op area that day before surgery. The written instructions they gave me said weight bearing as tolerated. When I asked about it, they told me that it was right. I called the doctor's office the next day to confirm the instructions and was told that they hospital gave me the wrong discharge instructions. I know that other hospitals give you a meal for that night when you have outpatient surgery to feed you and up to 3 other people in your family so you don't have to think about it after surgery. That would have been a nice touch but for me is not a deciding factor. The waiting room for patient's family is without amenities - no water or coffee. They do have cell phone chargers though. The chairs are not very comfortable either. There is one chair in the post op recovery curtained area that I was in and it was pure utility - but I guess that is to be expected. The pre and post op areas (which are the same for outpatient) are clean. You are given a thick paper gown and it has air vents in it. You can hook up to your own heating or cooling blower in the room and can even control the fan speed. I think there were even different zones on the paper gown that you could hook the HVAC tube into. That was pretty awesome. And I was already hooked up by my nurse when I became aware of my surroundings in the post op area. I am not sure how in patient is but I am scheduled there by my doctor for another surgery soon and I think that one I have to stay in the hospital. One thing I can say is that the pre-surgical testing nurse has spent a great deal of time on the phone with me regarding my second surgery because I am so nervous about it. She is a very busy person and is sometimes hard to get in touch with but once you get her on the phone she will talk with you for as long as you need. Which I appreciate and probably makes it hard for her to get to the next person and there is just one of her. She has provided me with a lot of education materials and has been very patient. read more

My Mom passed away recently in this hospital. The nurses were kind. On Thursday we were talking about moving Mom to a nursing home and her being on hospice. She was talking a lot and said she hoped the nursing home would let her fold towels because she didn't like to sit around and do nothing. The next day, she wasn't communicating as well and we had a lady, who I specifically asked a couple of times NOT to talk about what we were talking about in front of my Mom! She did any way. Finally when my Mom, who heard what we were talking about, reacted it was terrible. She started crying and saying it wouldn't be long. Every time it is a problem. I swore when we had an abysmal experience in their ER that I would never darken the door if this crap hole again. Unfortunately for me, my octogenarian aunt is a creature of habit and demanded that her annual tests be done here. Even scheduling the appointment was a nightmare. I had to provide every detail of the doctor's order. Thank goodness I was there because 1) my aunts English skills are limited 2) she is legally blind and couldn't read that order if her life depended on it. In order for both tests to be performed at the same time we had to arrive at the crack of dawn. We arrive for our appointment only to find that we needed to bring the order that her doctor gave her 2 months ago. Something that was not stated at the time we made the appointment and who knows where the hell that paper went? What is this 1950? Fax and email have been invented! Things don't always run smoothly in the medical field but this hospital nearly always makes things worse by treating every situation with horrible customer service, justification of why them giving you substandard care is ok. They literally love it when they can blame someone else. read more

Horrible experience. Arrived at 7:00 am and seen at 8:00 am. My 77 year old mom was in tears in waiting room in so much pain with her leg swollen like a football. She has an incredibly high pain threshold and very tough lady. Pain was a 12 on scale of 1 to 10. Explained that slightest movement was excruciating. Nurses pretty much wanted her to walk to the bed and rolled their eyes when I explained how bad it was - very much a "suck it up" attitude. After another 1/2 hour she was freezing so I went out and found the warm blankets and kept piling them up as she shivered and cried in pain. I kept looking out the door for help - saw doctor standing at desk calmly talking to nurses several times. Finally at 9:15 (1.5 hours after she was put in room) I asked if someone could tell her nurse how much pain she was in. Amy Koester said, "I'm her nurse - I'll be in soon." I told her she just needs pain meds until someone can find time for her - she said "I understand" - everything I said, I got this exact same answer with a snarly look on her face. 10 mins later I came out and told her that now mom has to pee. Ten minutes later she brought a bed pan and shoved it under her with no regard for the movement of the leg that was in pain - when we explained the pain, she said, "I understand". When mom said I can't pee laying down, Amy got someone to come in and pick up the sheet and "throw" her up the bed, again, no regard for the pain, and sat the bed up - mom started screaming "down, down, down - that hurts too bad" - finally got her in position & the bed pan had moved Amy checked it & said it was in a fine position & left the room. Mom peed & said it was going all over her & the bed - & bed pan was cutting into her where it was -after 15 minutes I pushed call button and a nice nurse came in and removed the bed pan and found huge puddle under mom - got someone to help her roll her over to change sheets (painful but they at least tried to be careful). At 9:40 Amy came back in and I was angry and asked why a doctor couldn't at least order the pain meds - she told me that the doctor was in the middle of life and death situation & there were worse cases. I said "I understand", but surely you have more than one doctor & it's going to take 2 minutes for dr to come in and prescribe the medicine. She said there were 4 doctors & 14 rooms and that all were working on life and death situation. I said if you knew you couldn't see us for 4 hours when we got here, you could have told us so we could have gone somewhere else - I asked her to help me get her in car to go to another ER and she said that would not help. She left and low and behold Dr. Niemann came in - Same doctor who had been standing at the nurses station talking every time I went out to check for someone. Not saying she wasn't having important conversations- maybe she was - but she certainly wasn't fighting life and death situation! She was in there for less than 2 minutes & prescribed pain meds. About 10 minutes later Amy brought in a shot and then someone came in & took her for a CT Scan. The girls in the CT Scan room told her to use her good leg and arms to hold herself up to move from bed to bed when she told them she could not - lots of eye rolls and no compassion. More "suck it up" attitude and not nice about it. After they brought her back she finally felt relief from pain med. Then we saw no one for 1.5 hours - then doctor came in and said CT Scan didn't show anything so sending you home with knee brace and pain meds. I explained that I couldn't get her in & out of car or house - she is my fathers caregiver & she has no one to care for her but me & I am not able to carry her. They just shrugged like "figure it out". Then Amy came in to get her ready to leave & YANKED the pillow out from under her bad leg without any concern for the pain it caused - I screamed right along with mom! Then she put her sideways on the bed &,told her to keep her bad leg in the air for several minutes while another nurse unpacked the leg brace from box & then put it on. It was excruciating. Then they took us to the front door in a wheel chair & were going to leave us there - when I said I needed help getting her in car - 4 people started to try to help - tears were streaming down mom's face and I again made another plea & said "I can't believe you are sending a 77 year old woman home from the hospital in this much pain who cannot care for herself without knowing what is wrong. I guess I will just drive to another hospital. The nice nurse went back in and got Amy, who proceed to stuff mom into the car with the help of three others while mom moaned and cried & Amy kept saying "your doing great". I was so livid I couldn't even see straight to get out of their parking lot!!! I recommend no one go to this ER and if you go, I hope to God you get the nice nurse & not Amy Koester! read more

I was at the Progress West address 2 Progress Point Pkwy. I went in for a bilateral tubal cautery today and had the absolute best RN in all of my hospital experiences. Her name was Michelle. She was so attentive personable approachable and friendly. She kept fluent conversation with me the whole time prepping for my surgery and it completely kept my mind off what was even going on. She was always making sure I was okay and after surgery checking if I was in any pain. I came out of anesthesia very emotional (crying for my mother that's passed away). She was very consoling and caring about it. She was all around a 10 star nurse. You can tell just when initially meeting her that she's loves her job. She went above and beyond in many ways today in the hours I did have with her. Everyone else was just as fabulous but I spent the most time with Michelle and want to make sure she gets recognized for how amazing she is. read more

Will NEVER return to this ER. My mother was admitted for a severe migraine after experiencing a diagnosis of bells palsy. She was crying in pain. 40 minutes after being sent to a room the nurse arrived, still with no medication or idea what was going on. We then waited another 30 minutes for a new nurse to arrive. Still no medication, just asked a few questions and left the room. One hour later a doctor arrived. Dr. Adams, she was completely rude. She acted like we were an inconvenience. My mother requested an CT scan to ensure she was not having a TIA, and she laughed and said your not having a stroke but sure we will do it anyways. She left the room. We waited another hour for my mother to receive medication. I opened the door to see what was taking so long for the doctor to print off her discharge sheets. Upon opening the door I see her laughing along with the nurses enjoying her time on the phone with a personal phone call. I asked another nurse if i could have the discharge papers so that my mother could leave and get home to get some rest. She replied, I am not your nurse. The nurse finally came back to the desk screaming at the doctor can you get room 3 discharge papers. She did not listen. 20 minutes later she walks up to our nurse after seeing me stare at her and said have you printed the discharge papers for room 3 yet? He laughed and screamed back I told you I needed their discharge papers. She laughed back saying I thought you needed room two, oh my god. Continuing to laugh they printed the discharge papers finally bringing them to my mom. After 5 hours in tears my mom and I are finally leaving the progress west emergency room. Needless to say we will never return. This is the worst service we have ever had from any doctors office. I would not trust them with my life. read more

I'm giving them one star, because it will not let me give them anything lower. I received a bill for lab work a year after the lab work was done...from a credit collector. I had given the hospital and doctor's office my updated information multiple times and was told I had a zero balance. And yet still to this day they have me at the wrong address and have the wrong insurance information. Now they say since it has been over a year, they can't rebill my insurance company and I have to pay it out of pocket. Such horrible customer service. Administration staff is lazy and incompetent. Don't ever trust them, get everything in writing. Make sure they print you out copies of your "zero" balance so you can prove it's their fault when they come after you later. read more

Do NOT take your children to Progress West ER for anything! They are not equip for pediatric patients. Make the drive to Mercy, or if more serious, to St. Louis Children's. The female pediatric MD is odd, and instructed us to exhaust our child so he would be able to sleep, even though he was in horrible pain (the next day our pediatrician confirmed that rest would be much more beneficial to his recovery). I had an MRI of shoulder . check in wait for the test was very very long. Test was fine but it was crazy expensive. This test and only this test used up all of my $2,500 deductible. I later found out it would have been less than half that cost at other places like Metro Imaging. read more

First of all I would just like to preface this review by stating all of the reviews are a matter of perspective and with that said take this for what it is worth. On September the 4th my family of 5 was staying at a hotel in the downtown St. Louis area for a convention. At approximately 300am we were awoken to the sound of croup in our 8 month old baby boy. Not wanting to go to one of the downtown hospitals we loaded up the whole family and drove to O'Fallon to have our son treated at the Progress West Hospital. Upon arrival, we were rushed to the ER room and treatment was initiated immediately and literally 1 hour later we were on our way back to the hotel. We live in an area where our hospital is atrocious and the rates they charge for sub-par service is nothing short of extortion. We had the very similar experience and presented our son to the local ER because again it was at 200am and the bill was 90 percent higher and the treatment was 90 percent less. My son was treated by Dr. Anngela Adamson in the ER recently. She was extremely rude and did not even take the time to do an exam. He hurt his back and was having trouble standing or sitting. She discharged him saying it was muscle related. He fell in the lobby leaving the hospital and no one offered to help. The ladies at the check in desk completely ignored that he fell. Numerous times during the ER visit, Dr. Adamson kept repeating that we should not have brought him to the ER and repeated what constituted an emergency. At the time we entered the ER, there were only 3 cars in the parking lot and no one in the waiting area. She made it clear that our visit was not worth her time. The nurse was also extremely rude as well. I also had a bad experience 2 yrs ago. I was brought in my ambulance due to a fall. I could not walk as I hit my knee. Doctor took x-rays and shook his head as he said nothing was wrong. He made me try and walk and I fell, but he did catch me. Shook his head and said he didn't understand why I couldn't walk. Never questioned anything about my fall other than my knee. Turns out 2 days later when I saw another doctor that I broke my knee cap (no xray taken on view of the top of my knee cap). Also determined that I had a bad concussion which resulted in months of physical therapy. I will never use this ER again! read more

I wish 0 stars was an option because that's what they deserve. Bad customer service. Long wait times....I mean hours. Mouthy nurses with attitudes and unprofessional comments. They will be reported to their supervisors. read more

Went to the ER yesterday afternoon 4:30 with chest discomfort and other symptoms after talking to a 24/7 nurse help line who advised me to. I was asked immediately if I had chest pain. I said it was discomfort. They soon called me in for an EKG. Dr. said it was okay and I was told to sit in the waiting room. I waited for almost 2 1/2 hours. I asked the receptionist how long the wait would be. She was able to get me in around 20 minutes after that. They drew blood and took a chest x-ray. Dr. came in to see me at 7:45 and said he would look at the x-ray and be back... that lasted 1 hr. I was sooooo disgusted I left and will never go back to that place again. In fact since my PCP is only on staff at that hospital I will be looking for a new PCP. All total I was there over 4 hours. Never again. I think they determine if your case if life or death and if not you go to the bottom of the priority list. Do you think they want to discourage people from coming to the ER? read more

I wish there was a zero star option due to the service I received in the ER. I waited 3 hours in the waiting room then another 3 hours in the actual ER before being told to go home! I have a spinal disease which is very painful and although I have a pain management doctor there still are times I need additional help. They stated they only had one doctor and it was an extremely busy evening. I was put in a makeshift room where unless I pushed the button I was just left. They never checked my blood pressure after being registered nor did they follow up with me unless I pushed the service button. I wish I would have asked for the name of the nurse that told me to go home but I was so upset I just couldn't get out of there fast enough. I was talked with rudely and she had an attitude which I've never experienced before from a nurse in my entire life. Her exact words were the doctor is busy setting a broken arm and it could be hours because she sees the more pressing people first and I may just want to go home! I did just that but felt like if that is what they wanted they could have told me 6 hours before letting me wait. Not sure how they choose who gets taken care of first because a flu person came in and was taken right away. I guess a disabled patient doesn't make the priority list. I will be taking this further and plan on speaking with someone so they can explain to me why they chose to not treat me. read more

Will NEVER go here again. Took husband to ER with suspected blood clots and with abdominal pain. They wouldn't look for clots (they actually had the nurse throw away the blood tube she drew that would have checked for clotting issues) and, yet, they told my husband that he did NOT have any blood clots. They also wouldn't do any scan for the stomach pain. Discharged him with, basically, Joint Pain & Upset Stomach. Turns out it was actually very serious blood clots AND Pancreatic Cancer!!! He had blood clots in his deep veins (DVTs) AND in his lungs. He could have died from the clots alone. Not checking for the clots was bad enough, but telling him that he "did not have any clots" almost killed him, because he waited a few more days before going to another facility for help...since he believed it wasn't clots and, therefore, not life-threatening. How could they tell him it wasn't clots, when they refused to even check for them?! read more
