This dentist specializes in fraud and blackmail. Please be aware that he is causing damage to healthy teeth to create problems so he can charge to fix them. I went in as a new patient for X-rays and a cleaning which my dental insurance would have covered without any copayment from me. They absolutely refused to clean my teeth unless I agreed to a deep cleaning which is $40. After they took 18 unnecessary X-rays looking for a way to create a problem, he examined my teeth with a dental hammer and picked at my fillings trying to loosen them. I have been going to the dentist for a cleaning every six months since I was 21 years old and have never had the dentist examine teeth before a cleaning. The hygienist takes the X-rays, cleans your teeth and then the dentist comes in to examine your teeth and gums. Dental health is very important and shouldn't be treated as a money grab. read more

Office staff and Dentists are on par and professional . On the other hand, their lab is 100% garbage. 4th time in under a year my dentures fell apart in my mouth! They need to find a reputable lab to build their dentures. I have been saving for implants, I will not use this practice for that due to the lab they use. I had a procedure which was required to be paid for previous to appointment for a crown. The initial procedure was done with temporary crown 2/21. The temporary crown fell out 4X each day after. These were done by 3 different technicians until finally dr patel made a new temporary crown and used permanent cement. Appointment made for permanent crown was just needed to be canceled 3/21 because the lab has still not made the permanent A month! just given an appointment for another month to wait for this procedure to be completed! I have never had to have this experience or the 2 month wait for a crown. Of course the cost is extreme for this experience. Very disappointed in this Dental Office at this time. read more

I was helped by a representative named Amy, who was not informative or friendly or proactive. I felt as if it was a burden for me to be calling and making an appointment. I also felt a burden to ask questions that I'm not familiar with because this is not my area of expertise. Ugh, 0 stars plus COVID-19 risks! They were extremely difficult to make an appointment with (keeping me on hold for 10+ minutes, dropping the calls, etc.) and required a separate exam/visit before scheduling a cleaning. Weird, but ok. Seemed like an effort to make more money but whatever. When I got there, I found the office is in a run-down shopping center. The exam room I was in had peeling wallpaper and generally the office had seen better days. I am not a dental expert, but all of the equipment looked worn/janky (things were stained, etc.). The things that you bite on for x-rays were stained and had bite marks on them. Not the typically clean experience you expect at the dentist. The dentist dragged his tools across my teeth and gums during the exam and concluded that I just needed a typical cleaning for my next visit. The office seemed to follow COVID procedures that was convenient for them (i.e., not having people in waiting room, taking temps of patients). However, all the staff were on top of each other in the office and many were not wearing masks. I grew concerned because there was no social distancing. All of the exam rooms are in an open layout (droplets could travel) and all were full. My old dentist kept some exam rooms unoccupied for social distancing. I counted more than 20 people in a small office. When I went to schedule my next appointment (against my best judgment), the two receptionists got in an argument with each other and refused to schedule my cleaning even though I was standing right there. One handed me the card for other receptionist and told me to call to schedule because she was not able to help me. That was the last straw... I will not be back and suggest people look elsewhere for their own care. It was overwhelmingly a dirty and unprofessional experience. read more

I have been going to this place since I was little. I have been seeing Dr. Wu since I was like 6 or 7 years old. I have a lot of health issues and was not going to be able to physically make my appointment later today and so I called ahead to try to discuss this and change my appointment and was cut off and spoken to so rudely and with such agitation and dismissiveness by someone named "Amy", that even when I was switched to a lady that sounded much kinder named I think "Jamie", my hands and voice were shaking too much to even carry on the conversation. I am in so much pain I haven't even been able to get up to use the bathroom yet today and I did not carry any of that into my phone call with "Amy" yet by the end of speaking with her, I felt lower than I even did when I woke up in excruciating pain. Going to Progressive Dental Arts in Newark DE was the worst experience i have ever had with a dental office. I am saddened to write this review because the supporting staff was personable and great. But, I have serious questions about the capabilities of the dentist that I saw there. I had 2 fillings done at Progressive Dental less than a year ago. The first filling was loose and visibly moved when i flossed. That was a red flag for me and I blame myself for not going to another dentist quickly. But you know how it is when it doesn't hurt and you THINK you have time to address it -- until you don't. I woke up in severe pain one day and had to go back to them. It turned out that I had severe decay under the filling and needed a root canal. At that visit, I not so jokingly referred to my experience with them as being in a Little Shop of Horror Movie -- removing the filling without giving me any type of pain medication. Thank God I was referred out to a specialist because Progressive Dental doesn't do root canals. Not even 6 months later, the other tooth on the opposite side of my mouth started to cause me excruciating pain. I went to an emergency dentist and was told that I had severe decay underneath the filling and I needed a root canal on that tooth. Needless to say, I will never go back to Progressive Dental in Newark, DE again and I am planning to complain to my insurance company to see if anything can be done. I quickly cancelled my appointment stressing my dissatisfaction and concern with the treatment I received there and no one has called me back to discuss my issues. read more

I have gone here for years and love it. Friendly, courteous, thorough and professional. My daughter broke her front adult tooth and was going to my husbands dentist. Their office is rated very well and yet the repair outcome was awful (see left photo). I took her to PDA and the result was an amazing difference. Dr. Uberti did AMAZING! I'll never go anywhere else and my whole family now goes here. Dr. Wu, hygienists and office staff (Karla) are all so super nice and always welcoming! read more

In 2017 I had a root canal and crown done. The whole tooth came out with the post. When I called to see what they can do they said I am no longer in warranty after 3 years and I have to pay $5k for a implant. CRAZY!!!!! So now I have another dentist who is admits what happened was unprofessional and the root canal was performed wrong, people tend to lose the crown but rarely the crown and post. I will NEVER recommend or spend another cent at progressive dental. read more

When I first went to progressive I had no real expectatns, more expected a clinic type feel of care...boy was I wrong. The staff was very helpful answering any and all questions that I had. The dentists were knowledgeable, friendly and empathetic. Between the dentists and their staff they presented me with every possible option, a schedule to suit my needs, and their insurance coordinator held my hand throughout the process to ensure all the financials were handled properly. I have never seen a staff that is so committed to their patients. If you want top notch affordable dental care, this is the place to go. read more

I initially changed to this dentist because my job insurance didn't cover my longtime dentist (in Pennsylvania) and I wanted to go to someone close to where I lived and worked in Delaware. It wasn't that difficult to switch to their office, but I was disappointed from the start with appointment availability and office hours, which were different than what was previously advertised. Additionally, even though they have 2 offices, one in Newark and one in Wilmington, if I went to the Wilmington office I would get charged since they bill under 2 separate names or whatever. I couldn't get an appointment last year, which ticked me off to have to pay for dental insurance and not get to see one under my plan (I paid out of pocket to see my longtime dentist in PA). I finally got an appointment in February. Everything leading up to the appointment was positive from speaking to the receptionists to receiving the new patient forms via email. The receptionist also stayed on the phone with me and helped provide directions when I got lost (1/2 star for that). I arrived for my appointment on time. The waiting room was fine. Going into the other areas, I felt like cattle being herded from one place to the next. It is a very large office. Instead of the dentist coming to you in the dental chair, you get up and play musical chairs. The hygenist who was directing me did not speak, I tried making small talk but it fell on deaf ears.. she was not friendly at all. There was a tv in the initial chair I was placed in, and she was looking at my teeth while a talk show was on. I asked nicely for the tv to be turned off.. You can get an appointment as early as 730 in the morning which is perfect when you don't want to go into work late, or have the kids miss any class time. The ladies at the front desk are the best, always greeting you with a smile. They are always willing to help. The assistant are very kid friendly which is a plus when you have kids that are afraid of the dentist for some reason . I have been coming here for myself and I feel very comfortable with doctors. Had a wonderful experience today at PDA. I chipped a tooth and had to make an urgent appointment for treatment. The staff were great and made an appointment for the next day. I saw Dr. Lotti, who was so upbeat and calming as I tend to be a little uptight during dental procedures. Her assistant was also extremely professional and cheerful. Before I knew it, my tooth was repaired with very little discomfort and appropriate expense. I am very happy with this practice from the front-line staff to the administrative support employees. I have been a patient for 4 years but after my experience yesterday I must find a new dentist. When I first started going I was with one dentist but had to switch because she didn't properly install my crown. Now the tooth is beyond repair and must be extracted. When I wanted to talk to C some sort of manager she asked the receptionist what did I want and refused to speak to me. Then another so called manager came out and you can tell from her body language she didn't want to hear what I had to say. Now I'm stuck with a whole in my mouth because the first dentist didn't no what she was doing the second dentist tried his best to fix it but couldn't save it and I have to pay for their mistake. read more

I wish I could choose NO stars. Dr. Lui did a root canal and I kept complaining that it hurt. He insisted I needed to give it time. Anytime I tried to eat on it I'd get an absess and half my face would swell up and turn red. Finally saw a 2nd dentist and found out he broke my root and it was damaging the bone. Now the bridge has to be removed and the tooth pulled yet they ate coming after me to pay for his damage. I'm not pain it and I encourage everyone to stay away!!!!! read more
