I hired Emmons to install Tyvek, windows, flashing, some gutter work, PVC Trime/facing, and faux stone on my front porch. It was following a heart surgery, so I needed to outsource. I had one window removed and made into a wall. The guy doing the work (Think his name was Alex), told me he wouldn't do the sheetrock, where the window was installed. Then, he used 2x3s rather than 2x4s. My wife and I took a shot at doing the sheetrock ourselves. It frustrates me each time I look into the spare bedroom. It looks terrible. It appears the didn't put the flashing, or the Tyvek, beneath the corner pieces on my house. My home has a downspout that puts water on a lower roof. I expected them to move my downspout to the side of the house and go to the ground. They didn't do this work. They told me they couldn't. Needless to say, I personally wouldn't hire them again and I suggest you watch very closely, if you hire them. I can see nails through gaps in the faux stone. Just very frustrated with their service/work and it was very expensive. Not one part of their work, can I say came out good. Even the facia appears to have been cut short. It's truly unbelievable. They came out to resolve my issues, before I paid them. I regret that the quality of work was subpar and paid them. read more

This company pride themselves on excellent service well part of this would be communication as well and they're not good at that. Apparently I owed more money and thought that at the end of the day when I was paying my bill, it was completely paid. Well, that wasn't true. I've had roof work done by them and they did an amazing job , so I used them again and completely different experience. After getting a quote, they took several months to get out to me. After paying my deposit, they rescheduled a date to do my roof several times, the communication was very poor. I would call several times asking about when my roof would be done, I would just be told I'd get a call back and never receive any call back at all. I had to legit hound them to get them to return my calls, emails and get a date to get the job done. One of the days they told me they'd be out to do the roof, I took off from work lost money because they never showed and they didn't want to give any discount at all for their inconveniences. I used Emmons roofing and siding years ago and was very happy with their service. I recommended them often when I heard someone looking for roofing. I was very surprised when a person I recommended told me that Emmons gives referral incentives for recommendations and told her I received an incentive. I explained I did not. She was disappointed as they told her they offer referral bonuses. I did not recommend them for a bonus but am upset they were dishonest. I emailed them twice with no response. read more

I did not have a good experience with this company. I had recently bought a house, and noticed occasional water stains on the ceiling of one room. Emmons was the second roofer I called. The associate came out and looked at the ceiling. He told me what could be done to repair the problem. It seemed reasonable, so I agreed. After waiting for follow up, 2 workers came out and spent less than an hour doing their repair. Approximately 2 weeks later when it rained again, the problem was still there. After numerous phone calls, the company sent two different people out with different assessments for my issue. The price escalated with each visit, though I was told that the initial amount I paid would be credited toward it. My calls were going unreturned, and I finally went to another roofer and had the issue resolved. I called Emmons to ask for a refund of the amount I paid them, as they did not fix the issue, and I couldn't afford to pay two roofers. After I finally got someone to return my call, my request for a refund was refused. Aside from the fact that I'm out money I couldn't afford to lose, the overall service response was poor. Had kitchen remodeled. Numerous issues throughout the ordeal, wrong cabinets delivered and more. They did not do the electrical work properly, requiring an electrician to rewire and replace incorrect switches. I needed a repair to my siding after wind blew several panels off and into my backyard. Estimator Steven M came and was very pleasant and easy to talk to. He recommended good quality materials including Certainteed Main Street vinyl panels and Tyvek house wrap. I told him I was concerned with rain rotting the exposed wood panels. He mentioned that the company would fasten a tarp over the exposed wood. I was very impressed by Steve's pitch and hired Emmons on the spot. I gave him an $800 deposit to get on the schedule. An employee arrived a few days later to nail in the tarp. On the appointed day, two men showed up, the main worker and his helper. It took 3 hours to complete and I was very happy with their work. The repair blended in perfectly with the rest of the vinyl. They had to take off the downspout in order to do the work. After putting it back together and the job complete, the main worker showed me a plastic 90 degree elbow that was damaged. The worker blamed it on the rodents in the area; he may have been right. I was concerned about it and contacted Steve M to ask how much it would cost to replace the elbow. I texted Steve and called the office many times waiting for a response. No one responded. It appeared to me that my concerns were being completely ignored after paying them $2600 for the job. All I heard were crickets! I wound up hiring another contractor to fix the downspout for an exorbitant price. Selling is the easy part but satisfying the customer after the sale is the true measure of a successful business. We recently had Emmons put a new roof on our 1880 Victorian house, and it's beautiful. Ken was our first contact and he got us set up. The office staff handled communication and scheduling and paperwork like a breeze. Rovin was in charge of the project and it went very smoothly. The crew who built the roof were completely professional and obviously had a lot of expertise. They arrived every day at the dot of seven and worked steadily; they were a great team. Emmons has just completed a huge project for us. Our house, built 30 years, was completely wrapped in stucco. We discovered that moisture had gotten behind the stucco and caused extensive damage. We spoke to 6 different contractors. Based on the excellent presentation by Dale we chose Emmons. Dale was knowledgeable and offered suggestions we hadn't considered. The work they did for us from tearing off all of the stucco, to siding the house, adding the details we requested and being responsive to all of our concerns was beyond excellent. Each team that worked on our house, cleaned up every day and was very respectful of our property. Taylor from the office, was available at all times to assist us. Kevin their estimator came to our house in OCNJ on 10/31/22 to survey for new vinyl siding. After he looked around & took measurements I mentioned that we were having new windows installed. This prompted him to ask me why I didn't call the window company for a proposal. I replied that I was in contact with a few companies. His query was peculiar coming from a company representative trying to sell a job. After some time passed with no proposal from Kevin, I received an e-mail from his company asking me to rate their performance. My response was totally negative for two obvious reasons; Kevin sent no proposal & unbelievably suggested that I contact another contractor. Shortly after this e-mail I received a call from Stephanie, one of the owners, who politely apologized for Kevin's rudeness & ignorance. She offered to have another estimator come to our home, which I agreed. Now well into January 2023, the Emmons company is no where to be seen. read more

Sorry! This is gonna be long. But I feel I must say what needs to be said because we chose Emmons based on the reviews! We have a unique home built in 1906. It is a three story home with a "mansard roof", which has a slightly pitched hip and four sides. The roof was old and we felt it was time to replace the mansard shingled portion of the roof. We were quoted and then due to the style of our roof the quote increased significantly. We were understanding, as I said our roof is a little different. We proceeded with the job a complete tear off and new roof on the mansard portion, the sides. My husband was at the house for both days. The crew that came out and did most of the work on the first day, the second day finished up and left with out saying a word ( he had the doors closed ). When he realized they were leaving and called and asked if they were done for the day? They stated the job was finished. He asked why they didn't let him know so they could do a final inspection. They said they would come back. We had quite a few serious areas of concern. There were huge bumps in the shingles and rows of nails were visible where the shingles did not overlap properly. We were very unhappy. The owner, Ken came out to do an inspection and he understood and shared our concerns. He had the crew come back to fix the problems. After that I was even more upset. As the bumps were still there and the foreman put tar over the nails to make them less visible on our new black shingles! I was in shock and called back to discuss this. He said he would have them come back again. I expressed I did not want the same person, so he had a different contractor come out and tear off a considerable portion of the work and redo it. The owner and new contractor were very responsive and apologized the entire time for the poor workmanship. I had hoped all was rectified. There was still some waviness to the roof but we figured we had to accept a few flaws. As of yet shingles are still not flat the way they should be. A few months later the top portion of our roof began to leak. This was not an area they had worked on but being three story home they had placed a pallet of shingles on that area of the roof. That portion of the roof was sealed seven years prior and there was a 10 year warranty on the silicone coating, which was now voided due to the pallet that was placed there. The owner Ken claimed that the leak was do to the roofs poor condition. They never said anything to us about the roofs condition prior to putting an extremely heavy pallet of shingles on that roof. The roof is a very low pitch, almost flat, and three stories up. We have never had any problems with is and it was still under warranty. If it was in poor condition why did they put the pallet on there? After speaking with another roofer I learned that they should have spread the shingles out around the perimeter of the roof not keeping all the weight in one place! We have since had a new contractor come and fix the top portion of the roof and I have looked into a complaint with consumer affairs. I have photos of the entire process. I truly hope for the best! I was told we are under warranty for everything, but I now wonder about the quality of our roof, how many corners were cut, mistakes made and covered up? read more

I had emmons install a new roof for me last year. I have no issues with the roof. They did a fine job. However, we recently had a wind storm that dislodged a couple of pieces of vinyl siding on my second story. Since they do roofing and siding and their website says they repair storm damage I have them a call. I was informed that they charge $300 for the repair and I would need to email pictures. I sent the pictures immediately and called shortly after to make sure that they received them and they did. I was told that they reviewed the photos and would send me a quote soon. The next day I received an email saying that they reviewed the photos and could not help me. That was it. No explanation or suggesting another contractor. I was rather disappointed in the response. I realize it is not a big job but I was willing to pay the fee to get it done. I guess if I wanted my entire house resided it would have been a different story but my job wasn't worth their time. When I am in the market to replace my windows and siding I will get my quotes from other contractors just because they don't have any loyalty to prior customers. read more

We got our first Emmons roof about four months ago.... we got our second one last week after suffering tornado damage. The Emmons team was great last time and even better this time. Ken is fantastic at the inspection and estimate phase of the project. The foreperson David was wonderful. David and his crew were professional, skilled, and did a beautiful job. David introduced himself, explained what to expect and remained available to answer all questions. Last time and this time they carefully cleaned the area. Estimator Matt showed up at wrong time and expected me to accommodate him. I was nice enough to try to walk him through scope of job via phone, so he didn't have to come back at correct time. I had to beg him to complete estimate almost 2 weeks later after he lied to office staff and said it was done. But what he did to cover his lie was to completely just put together a bogus estimate. It reflected nothing of our conversation and was worthless. Would have to be redone to reflect what I asked for. What a joke of a company. If he is who they send out to sell/price jobs... stay far away!!!! Complete lack of respect for my time as a potential customer. read more

The price was reasonable and everything from the initial sales call (Ken) was done in a courteous and professional manner. The Owens Corning product and warranty was a strong feature. The complete installation was accomplished in one day and they had an on-site foreman (Tom) who oversaw the process. The cleanup was complete and the roof looks great! Outbursts and do-overs, is how I'd sum up Emmons Construction. Very unprofessional and discourteous. Every problem they fixed created a new one that needed repairing. Additionally, the workers never showed up on time, left early to go to other jobs, and worst of all, couldn't anything right the first time. I had some very simple work done, that could have been handled by a handyman but I purposely chose a contractor to make sure it was done correctly the first time. They wanted to rush through the job and as a result, it took multiple phone calls, in which the owner cursed and yelled at me, to get things resolved. Ed came to my house and eas completely honest!! I was told my 3 different contractors that i needed a new roof. Ed came out and actually eent on the roof like he should of. Some of the contractors didn't even go on my roof. Ed told me that the roof is in great shape. He said there is no teason for a new roof because everything is solid. Ed thank you for your honesty.
