The fact that this particular branch averages more than 2 stars at most is just a blatant LIE. Decades long customers, never a late or missed payment, yet so many terrible experiences including holding of funds from accident settlements, adjusting policies without my knowledge, and inaccurately reporting cancelled policies to the state. I finally decided to go for a cheaper carrier where at least these issues don't cost me an inflated fee. Shameful!

So, because I moved my State Farm peeps in OKC, I wanted to love my Baton Rouge State Farm peeps too. And I do. I like them so much that I was going to get quotes on business insurance but they were in the ballpark I had seen on Google and I was like, let's just do it. I am totally devoted to State Farm. Over the years they've given me competitive prices, taken care of me when I've needed them, and truly been there. And yesterday I found out they are member owned. I love them even more.

My husband has used H&R Block for years. He and I have been going the last three years, since we've…read morebeen married. We're not going back again after this experience. I had scheduled an appointment with Patricia Sexton Malbrue, and I was optimistic about the appointment. But she pressured us into consenting for certain items that we were not comfortable with. It really frustrates me that we had to consent to our tax information being used for their different products, even though we opted not to use them. Just so we could go to the next screen to finish filing our taxes. At the end, we waited for her to give us the option to pay the fee to have our H&R Block service fee taken out of our returns, which we have done in the past, but she never gave us the option. When we went to leave, she said that we still needed to check out. When we asked her about the fee and having it taken out of our returns, she laughed at us and said "You don't want to do that!" Yes, we did. So from my understanding, she selected a response on our behalf WITHOUT asking us what we wanted. YIKES. Never coming back again.

This was my first time ever using H&R Block and I was honestly completely amazed at how perfectly…read morethey had adapted to the Covid pandemic and the constraints it puts on running a business. They clearly value the health and safety of their employees and customers above all else. As soon as I stepped in, the process was thoroughly explained to me from behind a front desk. Next I was pointed to a cubicle that had been wiped clean and where all the necessary paperwork was waiting. I was in the cubicle alone, filling out my paperwork as instructed, but a team member was one cubicle over who could hear me if I had any questions and could answer them. Once I finished I left the paperwork and my ID in the cubicle and stepped back out into the waiting area. The team member checked over my paperwork and verified my ID. Finally, they left and pointed me back into the cubicle where I retrieved my ID and my copy of the paperwork. There was a bottle of hand sanitizer available in the cubicle for both me and the employee to use upon entering and exiting. I was also shocked at how quickly and effectively they filed my taxes. James was my consultant and within 2 hours of me leaving their location, he had called me to review the tax return and emailed me links for setting up an H&R Block account where I could approve the tax return and sign off on it as well as pay so that I didn't have to go back to the physical location. Again, prioritizing social distancing. They even verified with you that they have shredded any documents you left with them like your W2, which I think showed they just go the extra mile to put their customers' minds at ease. It cost me $128 to file. I have no idea if that's competitive pricing or not, but for the ease and quickness of the process, especially so close to the deadline, it was 100% worth it in my opinion. Plus I'm getting that money back anyway and a little on top of it :)

If I could give zero stars for this place, I would. Don't go here if you just want to use their…read moremoneygram service! They will ask you to fill out an application for a loan, and that part will request for your SSN. First of all, I called this place to see if they had moneygram service. They said they did, and I said I would drive over. They didn't say you can't use their moneygram unless you're also applying for a loan. When I got there, they said I can't use my debit card to transfer the money, only cash. I had to go out and look for cash, then I came back and waited in line for a long time. When it was time for them to serve me, the lady processed my moneygram transaction, but she said I needed to fill out the top part of an application in order for her to complete my transaction. There was a request for my SSN and I skipped that part because I DON'T just give out my SSN especially if it's for something that I had no intention on applying for. The lady serving me asked for my SSN. I told her that I don't feel comfortable disclosing it (especially just to use moneygram) She yelled across to what seemed to be a supervisor that I would not give out my SSN, then they made the decision to cancel my whole moneygram transaction. I walked out of there after having wasted about an hour of my time. Next time it would be polite if somebody stated that you can't use moneygram unless you're prepared to apply for a loan and give out your SSN
