As you can see Progressives review score is low and in my case, I feel it well deserved. I had been a client of theirs for 20 years, all was well , until I needed them. The first accident happened when I was driving home from work. There were signs clearly marked that there was construction ahead and the left lane was closed about a mile ahead. A lady in a big truck decided to pull into my lane with no turn signal and smash the side of my vehicle. Progressive wanted us to split the damages but only when the body shop and a friend who's an engineer explained to the adjuster why it was physically impossible for me to smash my own drivers side door in when she was merging over because her lane was closed ahead , did they fight for me and we won. This next accident involved a motorist with no license and I had a question about hospital bills. We were sent a letter with the claims department an adjuster name. I called today and had the misfortune of speaking to someone who obviously hates their job and their customers. She couldn't be bothered explaining the letter that was sent to me, threw out a bunch of insurance jargon with no explanation with a condescending attitude . She kept repeating the same talking points like a robot, like if she said it six times it would suddenly be clear. Finally after being berated by someone who thinks they are smarter than they are, I hung up on her none the wiser on the situation. I laugh when I get solicitations from Progressive to come back...When you get competent employees who don't hate your customers we'll talk..... read more

If any of you are also looking for a new insurance carrier when bundling HO and Auto Coverage with one (1) carrier, Progressive Insurance may LOOK good in price but you also get poor service. Granted my recent experience is with my friend being rear ended on the way to work, by a Progressive Insured. Fast forward to almost 2 months later and he's still dealing with the adjuster Sean Patrick Williams lic 23-#####. Mr. Williams is not exactly the epitome of Progressives Core Values. Great example was when Sean abruptly hung up on my friend/the claimant. A few days later he called to tell my friend the rental must be returned immediately, even though his own vehicle is NOT BACK TO PRE ACCIDENT CONDITION. (I did a rough calculation and noticed he had been in the rental 34 days; most policies all max of 30 days.) While this may explain Sean's 'urgency', it does NOT allow for ABHORRENT and BLATANT UNPROFESSIONALISM. There's SOOOOO MUCH to this story than what I care to include tonight. It doesn't get better from here... contacted friend who is the former Executive Director of TDI for next steps. I have learned and don't plan on putting my confidence in Progressive Insurance, based solely on the deplorable lack of human decency and blatant unprofessional behavior by one of their "most valued assets"... Progressive insurance is a nightmare. My claim rep's name is Giana Malone who is impossible to deal with. I missed her first phone call about my claim, then the nightmare began. I called her and left a voicemail every day for 3 weeks and texted her every day in the same period of time, no response. I know she's not on vacation because I did get lucky and she answered the phone once during these 3 weeks instead of going to her voicemail, and she said she would call, still, nothing. I was almost driven to crazy by this kind of treatment. I even thought about setting up an alarm and continue calling every day for the another month, then I realized how crazy this sounds. Then I called progressive and asked for changing my rep to another person. I was told my request will be given to the supervisor named Billy Trejo, and I was also told since it was Thursday afternoon, Billy will call me the next day. I waited and Friday no phone call. I call Billy on Monday, left a Voicemail and the voicemail said all phone call would be replied by the next business day. I waited and Tuesday no phone call. So one month of the nightmare later, I am still waiting for that first phone call of my claim. I am helpless and turning into yelp. If anyone in progress sees this, please ask either Giana Malone or Billy Trejo to call me. If this review is still here after days or months or years, that means I never got that phone call from progressive and no one in progress even care about their reputation and treat customs like dust. read more

They didnt back my husband in his accident. They automatically faulted him. Never fought for him or backed him. Because he was delivering pizzas in my car at the time of the accident they are now forcing him to get a note from his job stating he will not be using my currrent new car for his deliveries. However, they are being nitpicky with the company he works for by refusing their notes because they are not being provided on the letterhead that progressive is wanting. They are trying for force my husband out of work by acting like a bunch of jerks by not accepting the notes that his company is proving that states he wont be using my vehicle for work purposes. Since when does this company have ANY RIGHT to tell anyone where they can and cannot work?? Since when can they tell you who can and cannot drive your car?? As clients we pay them. They have ZERO right to force anyone out of work or tell anyone who can drive their own car. This is a communist company with woke tendencies. Cheap insurance doesnt always mean quailty. I hope they will end up with a pretty hefty lawsuit on their hands from my husbands job for everything they are doing by refusing their notes and forcing my husband out of a job. I am going to keep spreading the word so people know what a lousy insurance company this is and how nasty and pathetic their underwriting team is. DONT GO TO PROGRESSIVE. SPEND MORE ON A COMPANY THAT WILL FIGHT FOR YOU AND CARE TO HAVE YOU AS A CLIENT. read more

These people are frauds. Adjuster work with their preferred body shop to meet total loss threshold. 17k for a headlight bumper and fender. After I drove the car for 6 weeks before they would even process the claim.. just to declare it a total loss then take possession of the vehicle and leaving me 6k in the hole with no car.. which I'm sure they are also working with the auction to resell at new price read more

I was a customer with progressive for 13 years (ever since I could drive at 16). Since I moved to California I received poor customer service. I was yanked around on multipolicy discounts which apparently they no longer offer to renters in California. I was told one auto policy renewal rate over the phone then by mail received something $80/month higher. It is astonishing the gaps in the state specific knowledge of their customer service team. Their client was on his phone, 400 cars stopped, he didn't; lied twice and they still agreed with him which means I had to pay my deductible of $500! shame on you progressive! I seriously clicked on that one star, tried to remove it. And put "Negative" 10 stars. We had Progressive Insurance, in 2017. We had just moved to Abingdon Virginia. We never had used them or even the thought using the Insurance for anything, cause we didn't want the rates to get jacked up. My wife and I went to North Carolina one weekend to visit her parents. Upon arriving back the following weekend it was after 10 pm, and outside was pitch black, there no street lights, its just you and nature. My wife's car was parked in the driveway, cause we drove My truck to North Carolina. The next morning i woke up to get the bags out of out truck. I passed by my wifes car, and her windshield was hit by something. It had a crack, almost like a rock hit it. Right away My wife called the Police and filed a police report. She then called Progressive, and they said they'll send someone out to look at it. The guy was there for 5 minutes, he then leaves, didn't even bother talking to us. My wife calls Progressive, and right away they start blaming us for the Damage. The guy put Me on the phone and said we Damaged the car. Can you believe this? He said we drove My wife's car to North Carolina. I got pissed. I said, listen here numb nutts, I drove My truck, we had this device they gave us which monitored our movement. I said your dumb ass app, knows My truck was in North Carolina. He insisted we Damaged our own car. He gave us an explanation, like he was some sort of comic book detective. I said "You're a real genius, no wonder you flunked the first grade", And not only that, they canceled our policy. And we had just paid them, maybe 3 days prior. We had auto insurance with Progressive for 8 days until we found another company that provided the same coverage for $1200 less! So I canceled my Progressive policy and went with the other company. Progressive now is charging a $50 cancellation fee (I guess because they're not competitive) as well as a $5 "Other Fee" (guess this is for the annual office Christmas party). When i called to question the overall bill, I asked them if there were and cancellation or other fees in it (I typically ask questions I already know the answer to). The customer service person said definitely not. So not only are they not competitive, they lie about the specific charges in the bill. These extra charges amount to pure EXTORTION! If I were to do this to another person, I'd be in jail. read more

Really annoyed to see that Progressive charges $50 to cancel your policy. Not only do they collect the 6 month premium in advance (standard policy I guess), but they gouge you on the way out. I should have cancelled long-ago. It was more expensive and they were not very responsive or supportive on a few of my claims-especially their off-shoot Home policy people. I will now group them in the airline, cable, etc. group of bottom feeding companies which rarely provide the service that they should. It also took me 10 minutes to find out how I could cancel my policy. Somehow the site kept crashing when I got to what seemed like a useful link, some of the directions on cancelling were out of date, and finally I had to call and speak to 2 different representatives-isn't that worth $50 in itself?
