The underwriting team is a fraud. They send emails to add people to your policy and if you don't respond they go ahead and add people to your policy regardless if they have their own policy and not driving your car. You have 15 days to tell them not to do such stupidity or they charge you and you don't get your money back!! read more

This insurance is only after the money. They dont help resolve issues. Beware if they ask the names of family members living in the household because that's when they will take advantage and increase your fee and you will not be able to refund your money because they will make thongs difficult for you to resolve any issues. I will not recommend this insurance to any family member or co workers. The agents are rude and will hang up on you on the phone. Beware especially seniors, elderly and people with disabilities. Do not use this insurance. They will take your money and the representatives who answers the call are not helpful and very rude. They will ask for every single person in the household even if those people have their own insurance, they will charge you for the number of people living in the house regardless, if you try to get a refund, they will request for so many documents and will deny still afterwards. Driver who doesn't live at my address.. or even in the state of Nevada was added to my policy without consent. Can't even talk to underwriting after being transferred to that department by another representative due to them being closed. Waste of time and lots of money. If I could give zero stars I would. Need to speak with someone and see how they can remove this driver as all of the insurance quotes are also including this driver now. Really bad company, total lies about Large premiums Increases. 32% increase and when asked Why, all they say is my costs in my area went up, but when asked which costs when up in particular, they can't answer a thing. Auto Renewal is a scam! I have EFT monthly payments and they auto-enroll me in a new policy every 6 months. Just checked my auto-renewal -- $569 more for 6 months. For the previous 6 months, it was $501, for the 6 months before that, $473. It was $378 three years ago. They've been slowly raising my rates without me changing my coverage for years. I had an accident with person insured by progressive. Their insurance adjustor found for me In 13 days. I proceeded with claim and 2 months later they reversed the claim. Do not do business with them. I filed a complaint with the insurance commissioner. Very bad time line, and poor service. Beware of this company. I filled out an estimate online for a homeowners quote. They send me one with some of the descriptions of my home incorrect. I spoke to a representative and corrected the discrepancies. I got a new quote which was much higher than the original from Progressive and much higher than my current homeowners' insurance. I did not have any more contact with Progressive. Progressive has continued to harass me with e-mails and regular mail claiming that I owe them money for a policy I never purchased. I filed a complaint with the Nevada Insurance Bureau and a representative from Progressive just called me and said I had purchased a policy by asking for an estimate online. That has got to be bull. Unbelievable... Why is Progressive constantly trying to rip me a new asshole? My Harley Davidson was purchased new in 2007. In 13 years, I've put a total of 10122 miles on this bike. Approx 9000 of those miles were accumulated in the first five years of ownership, while I lived in CA. Since living in Nevada, I've put less than 1000 miles on this bike. My fiancé got into an accident, another driver hit her, on a Wednesday 9/15 filed a claim, and submitted all files we could that same day, and Derek is supposed to be on the case claim we got a call from him after I initiated a in app message on 9/17, him saying that they need are waiting on the other party to respond. My fiancé and I have not received a call back or email AT ALL to this day 9/22. We call him every day to see if he would answer his damn phone but not even a response at all.. really lame insurance customer service, if you ask me. They have no urgency. Progressive entices you with a very low rate, and to do Snapshot, and with their useless star ratings that they say help lower your rate. Well, your first payment may be low, but thereafter they hike your rate, if you pay your policy in full, they jack the rate up each 6 month period. Also, you are supposedly getting a discount for paying in full, really? Not. As far as I can tell, they don't care about the customer, they just need to pay for their stupid tv commercials, etc. So, if you are a good driver and have avoided accidents, do not think your rates will stay the same or, better yet, go down a bit. Progressive is the worst corporation I have ever had to deal with in my life. They do not care about their customers and are extremely slow. I was in an accident three weeks ago and I am yet to have someone come look at my car. Not only that but the other guy who was at fault also has progressive insurance so I was under the impression that this would have been a much faster process. I am stuck in the state of Kentucky where the accident occurred without a car and have had to pay over $300 in parking tickets because I was instructed not to move my car at all and they refuse to reimburse me and refuse to come look at my car. I am very unhappy and will be leaving this insurance company as soon as I get this sorted out. read more

I have paid this company for YEARS for auto insurance... I recently was in a shopping mall, and upon exiting my vehicle, it was incredibly windy and the wind pushed my car door into the vehicle next to me. This caused a VERY minor dent that was honestly even hard to see, on the vehicle parked next to me. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A TINY DENT, I decided to be the bigger person in the situation. I left a note on the windshield of the car with all of my contact info...and immediately reported my situation to Progressive. The man I spoke to on the phone actually snickered, as he looked at the photos of the minute damage, and told me he was surprised I even called! Anyway/ I was welcomed with a " thank you, you did the right thing, even though it was a minor ding! I'm surprised- most people wouldn't even Report this! I'm sure your insurance will not go up- being that the damage was so minimal!" I was happy with the service I was given- and was reassured I did the right thing, and because it was a minor "dent" in the other car, that my premium would not go up- but in the rare case it did- it would only be a few dollars a month! I was OK with that.... and understood.....now I have received my bill from Progressive , and it is more than $70 MORE PER MONTH! WOW, is all I can say! I know $70 dollars a month, is not a lot to some/ but to me it is! A loyal customer- who reported a minor VERY MINOR dent honestly/ is now being penalized and paying more per month than it would have cost to fix this teeeeny dent that I HONESTLY REPORTED! I could have ignored it/ but I DIDNT! I reported it, and am now being penalized for it? Why do we pay for Insurance? Isn't insurance to cover these minor bumps and dings? What is the purpose of having auto insurance with a deductible/ if they are just going to Turn around and charge you? I am very disappointed- and am looking to swap auto insurance .... I bet I could get a cheaper rate for an " unknown" company- that will treat its customers better than this! I will say- when calling in/ the customer service folks are extremely nice , and helpful. It's not their fault the company is charging an arm and a leg for a dime sized dent in a car/ that I could have easily walked away from, And never reported? However- I'm extremely dissatisfied with the fees implemented for this amazingly tiny, smaller than a thumb size ding in someone's car! Not fair! BEWARE! I wish I could give -5 stars! Everything seems fine until you need to actually use their services! Not only are they unethical, but they feed you "feel good" statements to fool you into thinking they actually want to "help". They don't want to help. They just want your money, and they certainly won't compensate you fairly! At the first review of my vehicle, by Josh from Progressive at Kustom Kreations in Carson City, NV, Josh had outright offered me a check for the repairs from his initial (preliminary) estimate which was close to $5,000. At that time, I could (SHOULD) have taken that check to any one of my own personal chosen shops to have the car repaired to my liking and discretion. Thus, making sure Progressive would still be 100% responsible for full coverage in the event of another future incident to my 2009 Subaru Forester. In addition, my vehicle would not have been subject to a having a salvaged title (again, meaning I would still have full coverage for my car). Fast-forward to the second review of my car, by Nick Chalmers from Progressive at Bill Pearce Collision Center in Reno, NV, and low and behold he had them disassemble my tape-job (it was all body damage, with no damage to the frame and no airbag deployment) and re-run the estimate numbers and what do you know - Nick Chalmers deemed my car a total loss. The preliminary estimate was the way to go and wouldn't be leaving me with less than I came with. Apparently, Progressive wants you to always get less than you deserve. It's extremely disheartening that my acting in good faith, with proper ethics, and protocol has hindered me from being a satisfied customer of Progressive. Thus, leaving me with even less assurance that Progressive would take care of me or my family members that are also on the same policy in the future. ALSO, apparently Progressive doesn't inform their estimators the various differences on how they handle total losses. I WAS TOLD BY NICK CHALMERS, the second estimator, that I would be able to keep my salvaged vehicle if I like as long as I know that I am responsible for any costs associated to the vehicle from the collision center and paperwork associated to the vehicle when it comes to re-registering it with the DMV without penalty. NICK CHALMERS WAS WRONG! For the past 2 weeks, I was told that I could keep the car at no penalty to me as long as I was willing to take financial and paper trail responsibility of the vehicle. My claims adjustor, JENNIFER P DUYON at the Irvine, CA location, had to be the bearer of bad news that, in California, Progressive takes an additional $2,000.00 on top of your ($1,000.00) deductible if you choose to keep your now salvaged title car. On top of that, JENNIFER DUYON will try to scare you into believing that it would be a lot less headache and more money in your pocket if you just let them keep the car so you don't have to be out $3,000.00, but only the deductible. OF COURSE, PROGRESSIVE WANTS TO KEEP THE CAR - whether they fix it and sell it at auction, or piece the car out for parts and sell them individually, Progressive essentially is out of pocket $0. They are TOTAL SCAMMERS! DO NOT USE PROGRESSIVE! **I am a California policyholder and the accident happened in California - 3 hours into my 9.5 hour drive from Lake Tahoe to San Diego for Thanksgiving. I had to bring my BF back to Tahoe, so without any problems other than cosmetic and 1 missing headlight, we drove the 9.5 hours back (That's a total driving time of 16 hours of additional driving after the inital accident). Because of my having to travel back to Tahoe the estimate had to happen in Nevada because there aren't any Progressive network shops in the California Tahoe region, your only options are Carson City, NV or Reno, NV. I had the preliminary estimate done in Carson City (another 1 hour drive from where I was in Tahoe), and unfortunately did not take the offer given to me (by check) to fix my car myself and because of that the second estimate, in Reno, NV *(another 1+ from where I was in Tahoe) completely screwed me and left me even more in the hole and distraught than I was before. Well, I have read many of the other reviews and I agree with them all. Progressive is a scam and they are just money hungry. I got my quote online and called to make sure all the ducks were in a row. I live in a high fire danger area, insurance is tough here. I called twice, talked to who I thought were the right people. Asked specifically, "Is my home covered for fire?" All answers yes...... So the rate was great and I switched my car and home. Soooo, come to find out one week into my coverage I am cancelled because I live in a high fire danger area. I was pissed!
