Between Bill Schwarz and Dr.Erika Doyle I received the most amazing care and cannot believe how well I have recovered . Every single staff member from the front desk to the staff that placed me on ice and heat was considerate and caring. They all even knew my name. Every person there knows their job and keeps up with every patient. This is a well run physical therapy institute with caring and extremely knowledgeable staff. I am a new patient at Park Physical Therapy…read more I want to be honest with you from the start. I never believed in physical therapy, as much as I believed in Chiropractors. When I separated my shoulder this past Sunday the Dr. advised me that I should get some PT. I was reluctant, but I did. I was all ready to tell you that I'm coming once or twice and that's it. First was your receptionist Robin at the front desk. Her first words were good morning and how do you feel today. This took my poor attitude and threw it out the window. I replied not so good, but thank you for asking. She then advised not to worry that they will take good care of me. I smiled. She has been a pleasure every time I came in, and also remembered my name. That's huge for me. Good morning Mr. Corrado always sets the tone. The first day and each day after, I waited for about 3 min. Yes 3 min. and was taken inside. On the first day I was greeted by Mr. Travis Tennie, DPT. He sat me down and discussed in detail my injury and then explained what they can do for me. He was kind and professional to say the least. He brought me into a very clean and active PT area. I don't need to go into details on the work he performed, but I can tell you I started to feel very comfortable there and relaxed. Just so you know I had a shoulder injury that has floored me. I was already feeling better with the work Travis was doing. The next DPT I met was a Mr. Jarrett Parks, what an absolute gentleman and professional. He was a great conversationalist. He made me feel very comfortable, constantly asking me how I was feeling and seeing if I was in any pain as he worked on me. I been back three times so far and I always was happy to have Jarrett work on my shoulder. This gentleman knows what he is doing and I can tell you he is one of the main reasons I want to go back. I explained to him that I was leaving for vacation, he made sure he gave me the correct exercises and treatments I can do myself while I was away. I'm sorry, I don't know the name of the young man Jarrett but me with to show me the exercises, but I believe he was new and still in training. What I liked about him was he asked questions. That's important. I am all about learning, but you can't take chances with an injury. He spoke to all of the DPT's there to make sure he was doing each one correctly on himself first, and then asked me to follow. I believe one of the guys he asks besides Jarrett was John (Jack) Bianchini, DPT, CSCS. He made sure that the exercises were correct. The professionalism at this PT was 100% and they even joked a bit which is helpful because all the patients are in some sort of pain, and laughing a bit helps with that. Even the owner Mr. Raymond Cecora, PT, DPT, MS, CEAS, CPT. (wow a lot of titles.!) kidded with me a bit as he was working on someone next to me. He made his staff feel comfortable and you can tell they all like working there. I must also point out that all the therapist talk to each other about what to do with certain patients. They are constantly teaching the newer therapists what and how to do things. Again this brings up your confidence in the staff. After three days I feel 80% better, and all my attitude toward Physical therapy has changed forever. Thank you Park PT you are the best. P.S. I met a friend of the family there as well, I haven't seen her in at least 5 plus years. She was a close friend of my sons. Her name is Nicole Brock, DPT. Even though she was not able to work with me. I did watch her and see how nice she treated her patients. Always with a smile and always very concerned on their treatment. I'm told there's a newer facility with better equipment, but the place I was seen was equipped with decades-old strength training equipment and massage tables. The staff was certainly under orders to smile and be pleasant. But as it turned out the regimen they had for me aggravated the disability -- and it was clear that they were willing to continue along that path "until benefits ran out.".

And each one seems to have different ideas about what you should be doing which can contradict each other. They make you pay $15 per session without even knowing what insurance will cover. The bigger issue is that they like to limit the amount of sessions even though insurance says otherwise in order to push their expensive personal training.

I was recommended to CAP Physical Therapy by my dentist. I gave it a try and so glad that I did. Joe, who is the owner and wonderful physical therapist, is absolutely the best! He is a caring therapist, and knows exactly what to do for TMJ. It did not take very long for me to feel better finally. He worked miracles for me as he got me out of pain, and with the exercises he taught me to do at home, I have been able to stay out of pain! What a relief! She explained that I had shoulder surgery out of state, discussed medical insurance and asked if they could provide physical therapy to me. Yes, no problem. I had asked to be on the wait list for an earlier appointment. They called when slot became available for a night appointment. I asked again, "any problems with insurance or anything? No problem. The insurance company has approved you. I go in for treatment, and as I start filling out the forms. Dr. Sicignano approaches me and says he can't treat me. Since I had surgery out of state and have never been seen by a NY Surgeon he can't treat me. I told him that we had explained this to his staff before making the appointment and they said no problem. I just felt that I had wasted a week waiting for this appointment. I thought, I guess NY residents can never leave the state. If they had an accident that required surgery they could not return to NY until after they were 100% healed. They couldn't have skiing accidents, train, plane or automobile accidents. He continued to say that he thought that it was unethical for a Surgeon in another state to perform surgery on a patient that would soon be leaving that state. He offered no advice on how to resolve this issue. He didn't even offer to look into it and get back with me. He refused to treat me. The next day I called advanced Physical Therapy on Merrick road and they saw me the same day.

I first went to Michael for PT for my back in early 2016. He was good enough then and seemed very…read moreknowledgeable. He did work me through my pain and I felt better in what seemed to be a reasonable about of time and visits. However the problems started up again 6 months later when I had a recurrence of my back pain. I scheduled an appointment with Michael for the next day and requested a prescription from my doctor. Unfortunately there were some issues with getting the prescription to Michael's office but eventually it did arrive a couple hours before I did for my appointment. However, as I struggled to walk myself into his office, he comes up to me and says he can't work on me that day because the prescription did not specify the part of the body needing PT. Now I have a long history of back problems. Michael knows this. I know this and it was very clear why I there that day, with me all hunched over his receptionist counter. He says I can pay him out of pocket but I will not get this money back even if the prescription is corrected later that day. I ask him what if you just bill after you get the prescription later today? He tells me nope I cant do that its still out of pocket His next appointment after that day was about a week later. So I called Metro PT in Bellmore and they took me right away and said I could send in the prescription the next few days. Fast forward 10 months, today in speaking with my Physical Therapist at Metro PT in Bellmore, he tells me that NYS law does not require a prescription for PT for the first 30 days. Well thanks Michael for really showing you did not care about your patient. Thanks for showing that you did not go in to the medical field for helping people in pain. Thanks for looking me in the eye while I experienced extreme back pain and tell me that you could not help me when actually, you could have.
