I took PMA's in-person PMP prep course in May 2023 in Kirkland. Gregg was an outstanding instructor and helped me get into the right mindset for studying and taking the exam to pass on the first try. This was by far the best option to satisfy the 35-hour education requirement AND gain extremely useful knowledge/advice for completing the certification through PMI. I took the 4 day on-site bootcamp at Kirkland location during the last week of Jan 2023, and I took the test today 3/14/2023 and passed on my first attempt. I am so glad I chose PMA because their materials and quality of the lectures were solid, and I did feel like I learned something every day during the bootcamp. I had Gregg Richie as the instructor, and I was so impressed with his knowledge and lectures styles. It was super informative, and he made it interesting enough and I was able to fully engage in class. I took the 4-Day class this past March. I didn't know what to expect but once in the class, I realized the test was going to be much more difficult than I thought, and I was glad I signed up for the class instead of trying to prepare for the test on my own. The class was very well planned, the schedule is a bit tight, in fact I think 5-days would be better, but my instructor covered everything and did a really good job at drilling certain important concepts into our head. I hadn't taken a test in almost 20 years and at times I felt overwhelmed with so much information. At the end of the class they have you do a mock test and I was super disappointed when my score was 2 points below the average. But my instructor was encouraging and I followed their post-class advice, made really good use of their materials, took several of their webinars, and 6 or 7 of their online mock tests which are probably the second most valuable thing you get after the class itself. I did use other online materials I found to prepare for the test but 90% of it was from the Project Management Academy, and I was able to pass the test in my first attempt, 3 months after the class. In summary I recommend PMA specially if you don't have a very clear path on how to prepare and apply for the test (both very tricky), and if the cost is not an issue. read more

The in-person bootcamp was instrumental in my passing the PMP certification exam the first time. I attended the 4-day course the week of 22 May 2023 and passed the exam 12 June 2023. I was under the gun with a nearly impossible deadline (I would have liked an additional week of study time but had no choice), and Gregg got me through it! His mastery of the material AND ability to teach it were terrific. In addition, he brought real world experience to the concepts. Greg made the intensive course enjoyable and a bonding experience for the students. Shout out to the home office-- The PMA course materials and online tools were excellent. Loved the laminated handouts, which highlighted important concepts and processes for both predictive and agile. Practice tests were more difficult than the real thing! I found this bootcamp to be extremely beneficial while I was prepping for the PMP exam. I just passed the test "Above Target" in early Feburary 2019! I took the course in early November 2018. Gregg Richie was our instructor, and he did a fantastic job. He covered every bit of material that you should know for the exam, what to do after the course was over, and about the Prometrics testing facility where the PMP is administered. He answered questions very clearly. Even after class he was willing to answer questions and provide guidance. If you are someone who learns well in a classroom environment, I really think this bootcamp is worth the money. In September 2021 my company enrolled me and several colleagues in Project Management Academy's course to prepare for the PMI PMP exam. I attended the 4-day in person workshop for PMP certification training in October 2021. I chose this option over the virtual/online options to best suit my learning style. Gregg Richie was the instructor. Gregg was great in the sessions. His teaching style made it really easy to follow the material, he gave examples that helped me retain the material, and helped me set a realistic study plan. That is extremely helpful because it shows you exactly where you need to put more time and effort into studying. Their complete exams are 4 hours long, with 200 questions. After taking a mock exam, there is a detailed breakdown of your results in the group and knowledge area. That can help you customize the learning even further. After telling you about my experience in the class and with the platform, here is my advice. Trust the process! The PMA and the instructors will give you all the tools, techniques, tips, and assumptions you will need to pass the exam. You do not need to look any further. Put in the work, watch the videos, review the PPT slides and their printed materials, answer questions, and take the mock exams. That is what it takes to pass the exam. I took the class in April 2016 and finally got to taking the test in January 2017. Since Gregg does such a great job in class of more teaching you how to study and understand the vast material, I was able to pass the test my first try.
