I also bought some tan I AM GIA cargo pants that were super cute, and a pair of acid‑wash grayish‑black utility pants that I thought were really cool. Selling with them is super quick and easy. I've sold there about three times now. The store is organized, easy to navigate, and the prices are decent. They never have a lot of shoes in my size though; I'm an 8/8.5 in women's, and that section is always sparse. They always have tons of 9s, 10s, 5s, and 6s... The staff is always stylish and friendly. Definitely my go to when I want to switch out wardrobe pieces since they let you trade for store credit or take cash. This time I took cash, but usually I choose store credit because you get a little more.

It's messy and disorganized and they damage the items and jewelry when you're selling, they give back your items unfolded and shoved with no care, the way they buy is a joke, im happy to not ever come back. Also, i asked how the system works as far as how they buy and the process and the owner laughed at me as if that was a dumb question. She was an older white lady with frizzy long hair. If that's funny to you then I'll take my inventory that they make money off of elsewhere.

I was really hesitant about donating my clothes because they are still in very good condition, in fact some still had the tags on them, and I didn't want them going just anywhere only to eventually end up in a dumpster someplace. St. Margaret's Center ended up being the perfect place for me to donate. At first the lady who greeted me said she would put my donations out for the homeless, which worried me, but when she looked at them, she realized that they were very good quality (new or near new condition) and reassured me that she would put them aside for familes who come to the food pantry during the week. The center offers a lot of services for families and people who are in need, so I will be returning to donate more items, including some school supplies that children can use. If you are looking for a donation center, this is a great place. I was especially relieved that St. Margaret's does not put a price tag on donated items, everything is free to the community. Also, if you are looking for a place to volunteer, this seems like a good location because they offer so many programs including literacy tutoring, educational workshops, and citizenship classes, along with food pantry services. They also offer care and grooming for dogs of homeless people every Wednesday, which I think is reallly cool, so if you are a dog lover and want to help out give them a call. I'm sure you can also donate pet items like small blankets as well.

I applied to St. Margaret's Center's Renter Protection / Homeless Prevention Program as a qualified…read moreCity of Hawthorne resident...referred by the city's own homeless services team, who considered me a clear candidate. Over a full month I submitted extensive documentation, completed every intake form, and was completely honest about my finances and my hardship, including deeply personal information. I was denied. The reason: my income doesn't currently cover my expenses. Sit with that. This is a program that exists to prevent homelessness, and I was turned away for experiencing the exact hardship it's designed to address. I was told to reapply once my income covers my expenses...but if it did, I wouldn't need rental assistance at all. The program's own logic screens out the people who need it most and reserves help for those already close to stable. What frustrated me most was pouring a month of time, honesty, and privacy into a process that was never structured to help someone in active crisis. If this program only assists people who are already nearly self-sufficient, say so upfront--so applicants and the agencies referring them aren't misled. I hope leadership re-examines eligibility criteria that leave the most vulnerable applicants with nothing.
