I always donate twice or sometimes 3 times a years usually when my wife and daughter clean out their closet sometimes a lot of the clothes still has the tag so the Goodwill definitely gets a good load from me when I donate from young women to my wife and even I donate some of my clothes they get a little bit of everything for everyone read more

I come here to donate as well as shop once in awhile. I am giving it a 5 stars only because I found exactly what I was looking for--to complete my Halloween getup. They had many available items. The place seems to be organized. Color-coordinated and separated by type of clothing. They don't have as many other items as I wished they would have such as jewelry and household goods. They are however stocked full with clothes. read more

Date of visit: January 20, 2025 Purchases: 2 German beer mugs A Coca Cola napkin and utensil holder Experience: Technically this was my second visit with the first visit being a fail since we went when it was supposedly open, but they ended up closing earlier than listed on Yelp. This time around we wanted to kill some time while waiting for my mother in law to get back home, so we could celebrate her birthday. Definitely looks a bit sketch from the outside (doesn't help that one of the windows on the sliding doors is boarded up) and smaller than expected when going inside. After passing the counter, they had racks of clothes up to half of the store and the toys, books, knick knacks, electronics, etc. took up the back part of the store. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes since I was capping myself from buying more books and just skimmed them. Was super excited for the German mugs since they were the types I was stockpiling for our future Oktoberfest for my church. Worker checking out was nice, but they ran out of bags to put the items in. Probably would give this place another look around in the future when around the area. read more

I visited this store to purchase Halloween decorations, but the prices at this Goodwill location seem to be higher than others. The Goodwill in Torrance offered a 25% discount on Halloween decorations. When I inquired about a similar discount, I was informed that each location operates independently and therefore does not offer the same promotion. Notably, the broken skeletons were priced at $20, which is comparable to the prices at Michael's, although the skeletons at Michael's were not damaged. read more

Visited the donation drop off at the back of the store today around 12:50 pm and the Hispanic employee is not a service oriented employee who likes his job. He's sitting down behind one of the walls, not looking to see if a vehicle pulls up. See's me doesn't communicate so I ask if they have a bin to place the stuff in and he said no. I stood there waiting for him to explain what could be used etc... but nothing, so I kept asking questions until he finally said you have to bring the stuff up the ramp and so I asked can back in up the ramp he said no. Finally I saw the stairs and decided to turn my vehicle around and back up to the stairs and had to unload my suv and go up and down the stairs. He could see me unloading, but I still had to ask for him to print and give me a receipt. I'm not sure why you have an employee who isn't customer centric and doesn't care to be at work but I'll find another place to donate items to so they can make the $$$! Employees in service roles have to understand that customers pay their salaries. My items I donate for you to sell contribute to that payroll check being cut each pay period. I had not donated in about 2 years and now I understand that I won't be donating again, I'll find some non-profit organizations that appreciate having the items and have a staff that understands the purpose and mission behind receiving donations. read more

I have been back to this location and there was a very nice young gentleman accepting donations in the back. He greeted us and told us where to leave our items. That is improvement for SURE! I really appreciate that he was polite and helpful! read more

I have no idea what happen to this place. The service is ridiculously bad. The women with thick frame glasses and blonde hair with fauxhawk is so rowdy and just talked back when no one is like attacking him it's crazy. I thought the other younger guys were rude but that one takes the cake donating here used to be so so easy. It's shocking how dumb while we it was just easy. I'd drop off my things. I got some receipt for it now it's like literally leaving your stuff at a landfill with a lot of attitude. read more

Wish there was another option to Goodwill close by our place. First, no issues with the store, it's modest, of course, but folks there are very nice, quite professional. Donations in the back are another story: "Put donations in the bin"..."okay"..."oh, wait, clothes have to go in a bag. Here's a bag"...""okay"..."wait, you can't put them into the bag here, liability. Go out there, on the loading ramp. It's the rules"..."oh, don't you have a table or a covered place, like with a canopy?"..."no, property management won't allow it"...and so it went. Fortunately it wasn't 90+ degrees on that concrete loading ramp. And at least he offered up the bag. He hesitated just a bit, I truly thought he might turn me away. It wasn't a big deal but it was enough of a sour experience to warrant this commentary because, well, it's Goodwill and they're supposed to be good. This was something but it wasn't good. It's Christmas time and stuff like this is unfortunate, it kind of kills the spirit of giving. Oh well, hopefully some good clothes get to folks who need them. read more

I had an unpleasant day thrifting, as I was walking in a young Hispanic man was walking out and reeked like marijuana he was wearing a goodwill tshirt and back pack. It smelled so bad i got a headache. I couldn't stand being inside the store I had to leave. Worst experience ever and even worse it was a goodwill worker. Well, I tried to use this location for dropping off 2 bags of clothes. It turned into a nightmare, quickly. Apparently, I didn't pull into the right place to wait, in my car. I got out of my car to unload and heard Simone yelling at me. I turned and saw an employee approaching me while yelling at me. He was hostile and rude. His name is Darnell Thompson. Before I asked for his name, he gave it. I asked for his supervisor. Some long haired messy-looking guy appeared. He said he would talk to Darnell about his behavior. It's unpleasant to have to experience this when all I want to do is donate clothing to Goodwill. Perhaps there should be better signage, so that people that arrive know how Darnell wants them to behave. Since it's his world and we are all just living in it. The things he said to me...I shared with my boyfriend. I've let it go. Not so sure about my boyfriend. read more

My husband and I had multiple boxes of brand new clothing we wanted to donate but when we arrived, we started unloading.. and here comes a male worker giving us attitude, not offering to help us unload or anything, telling us we could only donate 4 boxes.. if it wasn't for his attitude and demeanor.. we would've but we decided it wasn't worth the breath and decided to else where. read more

My family make a lot of donations at Goodwill - from clothing to furniture to kitchen appliances and everything else in between. But just out of curiosity, one just has to see what they really have to offer. I sometimes surprise myself what I find here. Mostly clothes and some knickknacks I or someone I know might find useful. If you have the patience, it really is a good place to find bargains. Staff has always been helpful. I really wish they enforce the 3 items only rule when trying things out. (There are times customers occupy the room for 30 minutes or so! There are only 2 stalls, sheesh!!!) We continue to donate. The stop to shop is just a little bonus. read more

I visited this location today on Tuesday 03/02/21 at 4:05PM. I called earlier at 3:25PM and spoke to Daniel to verify what time the store and donation center close. He said he did not work in the donation center and works in the front store, but confidently told me they close at 6pm. A few weeks prior to today, I called and spoke to an employee and asked if they accept artificial Christmas trees at the donation center. She said they absolutely do and that would not be a problem to drop off and donate. Since I was given the approval from a staff member, I decided to drop this item off today for donation. When I arrived at this location at 4:05PM, the two employees that were working at the donation center were extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. First of all, they both did not appear to be wearing their masks properly covering their nose and mouths. This is a health and safety hazard for the staff and customers during this COVID pandemic. They also were shouting at me from the loading dock, which came off extremely unnecessary, unprofessional, and rude. It appeared as if they were too lazy to leave the loading dock and walk down the ramp to assist with any donations I have. I am not sure if they were keeping their distance due to COVID. However, if they were wearing their masks properly, they would be able to approach dramatically closer than the current distance to better assist or communicate. Instead, it came off extremely rude and lazy. These two employees at the donation center shouted at me from the loading dock and informed me I was not allowed to drop off any more than four bags. I informed them I only had one large bag with an artificial Christmas tree. They both seemed annoyed and frustrated, then they said they don't accept that. I let them know I called a few weeks ago and was told they would accept this item. He rudely said "Well, you spoke to someone that works in the front and they don't know how it works back here." That is an extremely rude and unprofessional answer. There was no apology for any miscommunication on the location's part, nor any efforts or recommendations on how to properly donate or dispose of the item. I do not know why they were behaving and working in this manner. Perhaps management needs to conduct better hiring, training, and performance evaluation upon all future and current staff, including these two individuals. The donation center is also located in the rear parking lot of the property. Perhaps management needs to keep a better eye on these two through more walks and/or audio/video surveillance to verify no improper conduct occurs on property. Is it true that Goodwill donation centers do not accept Christmas items after Christmas? Is this a private rule these two staff members created to ease their personal work load? Is this a private rule this store management made to ease the location's work load? If this information is correct, why was the person I spoke to on the phone a few weeks ago not aware of this? This information is inconsistent with all staff members and created a problem for me, and likely other customers. Daniel, the employee answering the phone in the front shop, along with the other person I spoke to weeks ago, were both very kind and professional. However, these two answering the phones do not seem very knowledgeable of any information regarding the donation center. Management needs to better train and teach them for this information to share with customers in the store and over the phone. There should also be phone access to the donation center staff to speak with them about such matters and questions. After I left, I was very disappointed and upset. I immediately called the location and I spoke with the location manager, Douglas. He apologized for my bad experience and said he would speak to these employees. However, Douglas did not seem sincere or concerned about this issue. He did confirm that they do not accept Christmas items after Christmas/New Years. Why was this information not communicated to me when I called after the new year a few weeks ago? I am very disappointed with the service I experienced today. My family and I have been supporting this organization for years, and sadly are reconsidering. If individuals like myself and others stop supporting your organization, you lose business. If business goes down, there will be less staff to work in your locations, and you will have to reduce your staff or close locations. This would affect the lives of many people putting them out of work. This would be an unfortunate thing for them to experience. Make this right and communicate to your staff this type of behavior is not acceptable and provide all staff members the correct information for customers to avoid future issues and complaints. read more

I made a few donations here. Sometimes the crew is nice, professional and helpful and sometimes they're not. It on who's there when you pull up. Sometimes you're on your own and they ignore you. Other times they'll ask you if you need help and ask if you need a receipt. Just depends on who's there. read more

I am from Las Vegas Nevada and being in the area of Gardena California for a day I had to check this thrift store out. The reviews were so good. Well sadly in comparison to the 3 to 4 Goodwill stores in my area this store was sadly very disappointing. Small store and such a weak variety of goods. Drab junky clothes and sad rack of DVDs, CD and books. Prices were a tad higher than what I am used to, but not much caught my eye. I bought $6 worth of goods and walked out. I know thrift stores can be good and bad because the inventory changes often, but I can't imagine this store getting any better than what I saw. read more

I went back here on 2/9/15 and I really looked through the selection of clothes. I was pretty impressed with the variety of women clothes, shoes, and purses. It was inexpensive ($5-$7 depending on the type of clothing article). I wanted to buy plain t-shirts and I wasn't willing to pay $10 for some at the mall or Target. I actually spoke with the staff and they're so nice! Overall, great variety! read more

Rapidly becoming a favorite Goodwill! Pretty much every time I walk in, I find far more than I thought I was looking for. Today the staff was amazing, specifically one Sherry Rhodes, who has a talent for matching items! She pinned my style immediately, and picked out a shirt that all but screamed my name. I took the draping transparent rainbow beauty home along with two perfectly fitting dresses and a flaring camo skirt, all found in the Juniors section. (Depending on the make, my size ranges 3-10, usually 5-6.) And all I came in for was a pair of shorts... Which I didn't find, because I made myself stop shopping, but I'm still happy as a clam. read more

No matter what Goodwill you go if you pay with cash they will tell you to donate the change to Goodwill, why ??!! Goodwill is a privately owned business and helps no one, if they have an item that is marked as a set of 2 or 4 they will still over charge if it's incomplete. Manager is not willing to work with customers is you tell them that the item is marked more than what you would pay for a new one. read more

After reading some bad reviews, I was hesitant to go to this location to donate but being the nearest Goodwill, I decided to see for myself. There is a large parking lot but you have to carry your items up a ramp. I was a little concerned because of my bad back that makes it difficult to carry heavy items very far. Lo and behold, the donation clerk came down the ramp to the rescue. I didn't get his name but whoever was working Monday 11/18 around 1 o'clock was a kind & cheerful employee. Nothing like the people described by those who previously left negative reviews. This man was more than happy to help us with our items. Yes there is a 2 bag limit but he was very nice about it and you can see the inside of the loading dock is pretty full. He did provide information about other nearby locations where we could drop off the rest. I just think some people expect too much just because they are donating stuff. It's almost as if they expect the workers to drop down on their hands and knees in gratitude for the used clothes and toys! They are providing us a service by allowing us to make some room in our homes while helping some people in need. If you're not donating Rolex watches or mint Gucci purses, get over it. read more

I didn't know Goodwill takes a limit of 2 "bags" of donations. They're donations that you are selling to people that are given to you for free. How is that creating jobs for people it you're only accepting 2 bags of donations per day? Mind you I had 2 bags and one box. So much for donating to goodwills. read more

This has become my favorite thrift store in the surrounding area. The staff is quite helpful and their weekly bargain days are a plus. I believe the store is under new management and when I tell you I'm loving the changes that have been made I mean it! I have been coming at least twice a week spending anywhere from $150 -$200 each visit. I haven't been here in a year because my previous shopping experiences was very unpleasant. I returned to this location about 2 months ago and they have made it so much better!!! It's so full and very well organized!!! They definitely have Affordable Treasures literally!!! I met the store Manager today, I didn't get her name but she helped me find an outfit for a 70's party for this weekend. I thought she was a regular employee at first and I when I told her what I was looking for she walked me over to the area and actually went down each aisle to help me find a Tie-dye shirt and some bell bottom jeans. It felt really good to not have an employee just point and say "it's over there." She stopped what she was doing and really took her time and helped me and made sure I left with my 70's outfit. I wish I could have thanked her today but when I came out the fitting room the employee said she was on her lunch. I will return very soon to thank her for helping me and making my shopping experience a very pleasant one. read more

My regular 'go to' Goodwill is located on the corner of S. Sepulveda Blvd & Artesia Blvd. While checking in using my handy dandy Yelp application on my Iphone I observed a 'check-in' comment stating that the Goodwill in Gardena was better. This was hard for me to believe because the above mentioned Goodwill is top notch. I have walked in to my 'go to' location and found everything from surfboard to snowboards that looked barely used not to mention clothing that still had the original tags. I have been asked on how I have accumulated my wealth and that answer is pretty simple I am extremely 'frugal' with my money and that is why I love a 'GOOD' Goodwill. Well back to the story at hand, I had time to kill so I figured I would drive to the Gardena location and check out if the 'check-in' comment was truth of fiction. I drove to this location and actually missed the Goodwill the first time around, it was evening hours and the parking lot in which this Goodwill is located had some lights out making it extremely hard to find. Once I did find it I found a huge parking lot that was practically empty. As I exited my vehicle I noticed right off the bat that I was no longer in Kansas Toto. I walked into this location and the store first off smelled like a transient, if you have never had that smell hit you consider yourself lucky. I noticed the floors were disgustingly dirty. The clientele shopping, well let's just say was much different than the Manhattan Beach location. There was clothing lying on the floor and employees were walking around clueless. This store at the time of my visit looked like a Toys-R-Us on 'Black Friday.' I was so disgusted that I refused to even touch anything but that did not stop me from giving myself a hand sanitizer bath once I got back to my car, heck I even put hand sanitizer on napkins and wiped the bottom of my shoes off before letting them touch the inside of my car. I will have to say after careful deliberation that the 'Myth' that this location is better than the Manhattan Beach location has been busted. Even if this store was giving away stuff there is no chance I would come back here. Actually the only chance I would come back to this location is if they let me bring a wrecking ball. This location should be condemned!!! read more

I seem to have issues with most goodwill stores because the workers are rude and not customer service trained, after visiting this store I received excellent service and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The store is very organized and clean. I want to give a special shout out to Daniel K my cashier. He was very friendly, nice and helpful. The Goodwill Store and the Salvation Army hire people that are unable to get a job anywhere else. These are people that have just been released from incarceration or they may be drug treatment program participants. The people that work inside the store are not part of that program, so that is why they may have a bad attitude toward the people that work inside sales. The ones that accept donations are usually a little rough around the edges because they may be on work release or a program that pays sub-minimum wages. I understand that is no excuse for rudeness, but it stands to reason that they feel that they are only putting in minimum work for minimum wages. Sorry for the attitude. It is a learning experience for them. It may be the first job that they ever had in some cases. (It may also be the last job in some cases). Thank you for your support. read more

Easy place to donate your gently used items for early spring cleaning. The worker offered to help carry stuff from the car to the top of the ramp. I've been here to donate twice so far and will be back since this the easiest Goodwill to donate to so far. They provide a receipt for tax purposes if needed. I took a look at the inside the store after as I am a bargain shopper myself. This particular store has rows of clothes for men and women. Not as much of kids clothing but definitely like a rainbow of colors nicely organized. There is less furniture and houseware goods compared to other Goodwills, but I guess it depends what they receive as donations. Stopped by here once to check out some antique collectables for sale on the back of the store, most are just junk and few are buyable. In terms of what they have to sell for clothing and toys, they have it all and it is very well organized. My only complaint for this store is that it smells like someones old attic. read more

Been to other Goodwills where the clothes are better, they were labeled with the prices and even coasted less than this Goodwill. The employees ate even nicer and more helpful. The employees at THIS Goodwill are rude and need to be trained better because they mistake boy clothes for woman clothes and over charge. read more

Not the best goodwill in the area. Overpriced. They had a USED Downey and Burke handbag going for $100. Like seriously? I understand it's all for a good cause but that's just ridiculous. I did find some coach sneakers for $10 but other than that I never find anything decent here. Recommend checking out another goodwill somewhere else. read more

I went on Saturday to donate children's book( complete sets ,educational, good condition) ,womens cloths ,and practily new toys ...and was almost turned away .., if I hadn't spoke up .....I sense the gentle men there really didn't want to be bothered...there excuse were " we have too much " ,and" children's books dont sell ,and you should take them to a library " ...it could be true what they say ....but ,you ( gentlemen) have a huge warehouse, and trucks that could distribute to other locations....what ever they didn't what ..I gave to the salvation army in Hawthorne...180 degree reception ..friendly ,no whining, gladly accepted...if your a manager of this goodwill ..you should talk to your donation receivers ....at this store read more
