Came here looking for an armchair and a bench seat, but they didn't really have anything that fit the bill. That said, it's still a pretty cool thrift store and definitely worth browsing. The space is huge and warehouse-style, with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and wide aisles that make it easy to walk around and actually see what's available. There's a massive selection of furniture laid out almost like a showroom--sofas, sectionals, armchairs, mattresses--as well as tons of useful items throughout the store, including appliances, kitchenware, clothing, toys, sporting goods, and even larger home-improvement items like counters and trim. It feels more like a home goods warehouse than a typical thrift shop. Parking is a breeze thanks to their large lot, which makes popping in to browse super easy. This is a humongous warehouse with a lot of kitchen appliances, furniture decorative are chandeliers, paint, clothing, luggage, and many more items. For example, $26.00 for a same brand fan that is $27.00 on Amazon, brand new, in the box, delivered to my door is a no-brainer for me. This place used to accept donations without problem. Last two attempts were a waste of time. The 1st of these times was when I tried to donate a dinette set. Although not brand new looking, it was very usable and decent. They said if it didn't look new, they wouldn't be able to sell it. I've seen stuff they sell looking a lot worse for the wear than what I offered them for donation. I ended up giving that dinette set to another donation place. The 2nd of these times was when I tried to donate a couch that looked brand new. They were interested but told my wife they wanted $50 for the service fee. Turned me off that they wanted me to pay them for donated furniture. We ended up using another donation place as well. Never going to use them again. read more

Have been to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Glendale and I found this location on the small side with limited offerings. So glad to find that this Torrance branch is much bigger with a lot more merchandise... 4 stars!!!! Habitat for Humanity ReStore might just have that one of a kind and unique piece waiting for a new home. Have been on the lookout for an antique set of dining table and chairs, and although we haven't yet found what we're looking for at this location, it's always a trip worth making just to see what's available. There's always a good selection of living room, dining room, and bedroom furniture as well as decor type items. Moreover, there's often selection of new and probably surplus home supplies and furnishings. Have always found the prices bargain level, and there are also sales from time to time, typically around the holidays. It's also gratifying to know that proceeds go towards a really worth cause that is Habitat for Humanity.Be sure to check out the place often to see what unexpected treasures await your home. This branch has a huge parking lot so parking has never been issue for me. Staff has always been friendly, and have regularly witnessed them helping customers load their restored treasures into their cars. I had a great experience shopping at Torrance Habitat throughout the years. Lately the prices have been skyrocketing on donated items. Used and crappy couches for $500. They could price items as they want. Don't tell people there is no room for bargaining! And not honoring "coupons" because the prices were "discounted" on the arbitrary prices?? They why do you lure people in with your coupons? [[HIGHLIGHT]]The young lady at the register, Victoria puts her feet down on these coupons and she acts like she is running the store making people feel un-welcome. She has no customer service ability, just acts like a make-believe wanting to be professional, robot[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Back in the day of Mr. Freeman- when he managed the store it was always full ...and with happy shoppers. Now this place is turning out to be a greedy place and focusing on only making money only, loosing the act of helping people! The customers who shop here also need help with good finds otherwise they would go to department stores. With the big Bible at the front register they should keep the customers in higher regards , and helping people should be a higher priority. The Habitat Store was founded on the very thing of helping people and having Christian values. We had asked before hand if there was something wrong with it could we get a refund and they said yes. Well they didn't refund my money. The Donation store Manager JESSE him/Her, was acting like a dictator and was being rude to me. He said it was perfectly fine and said whoever said that we can get a return lied. Let me get a few things out of the way first... this is a THRIFT STORE and CHARITY. Folks who are expecting some sort of full service experience don't seem to understand these very basic facts. I am a regular at the LaBrea location who knows many staff members by name - they are overworked, consistently understaffed and hustling and moving furniture/appliances/beds/all get-out in a hot building all damn day long, so.... be nice to them. Also, this is not a flea market so unless you've seen something sitting for weeks don't badger the staff (the price tags have the dates they started selling each item printed on them) to go way down on price... I've seen people do this very aggressively and its embarrassing Okay, now to good part... If you visit often with an open mind you will find GEMS. I have purchased many items from kitchen cabinets, appliances, gorgeous light fixtures, light bulbs, chairs, art, a new The Always Pan, an electronic stand up desk, wallpaper, etc. etc. All items are donated and some are from very high end stores nearby and others are consistent donations from larger stores like Costco. The Habitat for Humanity restore in Torrance has become nothing but a greedy profit center. We have attempted to donate brand new building materials multiple times, but because they weren't in the original brand new box, they refused to take them. I'm missing the point of what their humanitarian motives are if everything has to be brand new so they can resell it for the highest profit!! It's a mess. It REALLY is. But with patience and persistence, you may be able to find something useful for your home (or office) at the right price. I was initially turned off by the overall look of the warehouse. But after a few minutes of walking through, I understood why things were placed the way they were. It really is an organized chaos kinda place - kitchen stuff on one side, furniture at the center, rugs and sheets on another area, lots and lots of just STUFF all over the place, and tons of them on better-than-fair bargain prices. I found a few incredibly cheap furniture in good (if not better) condition - I even scored a nice, heavy and sturdy side table for $15. (I would have gotten the rest except I need to do some measuring first and they couldn't possibly fit in my truck!) Time wasn't on my side, so I didn't really get to take my time to check out every nook and cranny of this place. But I'm certainly coming back first opp. TIP: Look for "Restore" on their outside signage. (I almost missed it because I was looking for "Habit for Humanity.") read more

I had to stop in for a church event and I had no idea what this place was. I was surprised to find a huge warehouse filled with hotel surplus items, vintage furniture, and brand new kitchen appliances. This place is similar to Good will and the Salvation Army, so you're never guaranteed to find what you saw on your last visit. As we were leaving, they were bringing in a piano and couches. That's the fun in stopping by over here; you never know what you're going to find. If you see something you like; get it! You might not ever see it again. In addition to the cool stuff, they also have amazing employees who are eager to help you out. Generally the Habitat for humanity stores are absolutely amazing. The manager Jonathan is delightful and the other staff members are helpful with the exception of (1) employee. This gentleman claimed he was unable to assist with loading items into my pick up truck. Considering I frequently purchase large items for property renovations I was aware of the process and was disappointed this response. This location sporadically gets quality furniture pieces and if you don't move quick then you may miss out. The inventory that's is standard would consist of: bathroom vanities, barn doors, windows, paint, bedding and various stainless steel appliances. read more
