My mom has been a patient at the Redies Center three times in the last five years. The first time…read morewas for rehab for a hip replacement and it was fantastic. The second time was this past June when she was recovering from a gallbladder episode and that too went well. She had another gallbladder episode in Sept which necessitated the removal of her gallbladder and this time her time at the Redies Center was definitely sub par. We found out after we checked her out this week that they had been giving her an anti-depressant to "stimulate her appetite" which her regular dr then informed us has the unwelcome side effect of making a older person very sleepy. So no wonder once they started giving her that, she was unable to attend physical therapy which then created a scenario in which Medicare would not allow her to stay. She went from being fairly alert one week to being practically comatose when I came the next week. I truly thought she was dying when I saw her condition. Her friends who were visiting daily and keeping an eye on her told me that they were not showering her regularly and there were several episodes where they found her medication lying on the floor. I had asked the Redies to give me regular updates to let me know if there were any issues with her not participating in things and I never got one phone call. Then I find out they are discharging her for lack of progress. Well no wonder she wasn't progressing because she was basically being sedated. If I ever had to get rehab for her again, it would not be there.

The nurse practioner barely looked at his finger while the stitches were in and not at all after they were taken out despite the girl who took them out asking. It is most likely infected and she just said put a band aid on it when you go out. She did order an antibiotic. We were not at all pleased with how we were treated by the NP.

I've never tried to call there without nearly an hour wait on the phone and today I was on hold for an hour and 45 minutes!! Especially when the last 45 minutes the recording said that there was "ONE person ahead of me ". I've been trying to get in touch about my prescription which is vital to my health. If they are that busy than might I suggest hiring at least another person if only to answer calls? They have been this way for the couple years I've gone there and only seems to get worse. I'm exhausted and STILL have no answers about my prescription!

In 2024 after some blood work, he called my house on a saturday morning telling me I needed to get to the emergency room as soon as I could. How many doctors we'll call you at home on a Saturday morning? Not many I'm sure. He makes you feel like you are the only patient he has. Every time I see him, I'm thankful that I found him in the phone book. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful and go out of their way to accommodate you for your needs. If you're looking for a good doctor and hopefully he has room for new patients. You definitely need to see Dr. Howell.

My father spent nearly three years at The Lakes of Sylvania. I buried my father yesterday. He was…read more98 years old. This staff was wonderful with dad. What most people need to realize, is the importance of building a relationship with the staff caring for your loved one. It is a team effort. This is a care facility. They cannot and should not be expected to give private duty nursing services. It is unrealistic for any facility to be expected to do this. You have to be willing to reach out to the staff and work with them. Come to them with concerns, but also realize a thank you goes a long way when you do this very hard work. I can't begin to thank the staff for the care dad received especially during his final days. I stayed with my dad to care for him and make sure he knew he was not alone. I believe that was my honor and duty, but this staff cared for me as well as my dad. The concern for my well being touched me to my core. I will not forget the compassion my father and I received by all the staff. The flower arrangement that was sent to the funeral home was so beautiful and very appreciated. Staff who became friends were there at the funeral home to support me and my family. Their concern did not stop as dad was taken from the facility. If you are looking for a facility to "team care" for your loved one, stop looking, the Lakes of Sylvania should be strongly considered. I will only refer folks to this facility.

The director, the nurses, the physical therapists, the chef, the cleaning department and various departments ALL provided the best of care possible. The communication which existed between Lakes of Sylvania and her family was also tremendous. Each day an updated Covid report was to be found in my email and a weekly video was posted to inform all families members of the events of the week. I was able the connect in person with the staff whenever I so desired. My dear one got the BEST of care and compassion from everyone within the walls of Lakes of Sylvania. I would give this campus my highest recomendation. I owe them my deepest gratitude.
