I had severe disc damage at L5/S1, the inflammation made the sciatic nerve extremely irritated and painful. I couldn't be on my feet for more than a couple minutes, I couldn't sit and for days I wasn't able to sleep for more than 20 -30 minutes at the time. The pain would wake me up. Dry needling brought the inflammation down immediately. After two sections, I was sleeping better, walking and started riding my mountain bike again. A couple hours prior to class I stopped by and met one of the Center's managers, Rebecca (very sweet) was hosting an open house for expectant moms featuring all they offer in prenatal and postpartum yoga classes, wellness treatments and support. Medicine Wheel also offers physical therapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, Spiritual direction and other fitness training classes. They have essential oils and treatments and other health supplements and yoga equipment for purchase. My instructor, Ari, was so gifted and exuded such peaceful energy i immediately felt at ease and welcomed. She asked from the elements which I'd most benefit and I chose Earth to get some practice grounding and balancing. She did a super job of leading us through the breathing and poses, encouraging us throughout the Hour whenever our bodies were not cooperating. At the end of shavasana she gave us a brief and gentle foot massage which was heavenly!! It can be intimidating going to a new studio but Medicine Wheel's staff and facilities are inviting, energizing and comforting, too. This is truly a healing space!! After my injury seemed to worsen, I called Dr. Bullington's office, where they had an appointment for me within hours of my phone call. I received an exam, X-rays, MRI, explanation with instructions, and fitted for brace all within 2 hours. I felt relieved and was very happy with the care I received. I never felt rushed, and to me, it was how a well oiled office should run. Dr. Bullington also called me a week later to checkup on my status, how awesome was that!!! The problem was later when the knee didn't really get much better. Then I felt like I was told it was "better" and that I should deal with it. Later learned (after getting my files) that there was no mention that I kept coming back for additional treatment and the pain wasn't getting better. In fact, the file stated that I was improving and no further treatment was needed. On a secondary note: This facility is located at St Johns Hospital. When I went for surgery I assumed it was a part of that facility. Instead, you go to a separate facility that is owned by this doctor and some others. They are very aggressive about making you pay... or face collections. When I say aggressive.... I called to make payment arrangements. Was asked what amount I could pay, and when I said the amount, I was told I would be sent to collections. That cut and dried. Had I known all of this in advance I would have not allowed the surgery here. This also makes me doubt the Dr as I feel like I was run through the mill....

Besides cryotherapy and spot (localized) cryotherapy, there is BEMER, hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT), infrared sauna, a Q bed and LED Light Therapy. And...it is quite affordable, especially if you buy a package of treatments! I significantly sped up the healing of my bone fractures by combining BEMER and HBOT for a number of sessions.
