I would give 0 stars if I could…read more From the moment the crew arrived, it seemed like they had no interest in actually doing the job they were hired for. They moved extremely slowly, spent a significant amount of time standing around, and appeared completely disinterested in working. Before any work even began, one employee asked to use the bathroom, another had my husband sign paperwork, and then the entire crew went outside and informed us they needed to call a manager because they "might not be able to do the move." This was especially frustrating because we had clearly stated MULTIPLE TIMES before moving day that they were only moving furniture and packed boxes. Despite this, they repeatedly complained about "loose items" throughout the process, even after being told over and over that we were handling those items ourselves and only needed the furniture and boxes moved. We were told a manager would arrive in 15 minutes. Instead, we waited around 30 minutes while nothing got done. When the manager finally arrived, he moved just as slowly as the rest of the crew and immediately started focusing on the same "loose items" issue that had already been addressed numerous times. The situation became even more frustrating when the manager implied work would begin shortly, only for the story to suddenly change again to them being unable to do the move at all after he called another manager. What followed was more arguing about loose items rather than any effort to complete the job they were hired to perform. I have never seen or heard of a moving company refuse to move furniture and packed boxes when that is literally the service they were contracted to provide. The entire experience was unprofessional, disorganized, and a complete waste of our time. To make matters worse, we are still waiting on the refund that the owner stated we would receive. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable movers. *Edited to add - One of your guys claimed there was a litter box odor. Interestingly enough there are no animals. All we could smell when your crew entered the door was rank cigarettes which I'm sure most people don't want that smell being transferred to their belongings as second hand smoke is a health risk that literally can cause cancer. We watched the crew stand around and chain smoke while awaiting the manager so I'm sure the next persons belongings smelled lovely after that. Loose items were actively being taken care of as we told your crew several times that we were handing and we did. Your company failed to do its part and move the BOXES and FURNITURE that were EASILY accessible throughout the apartment. Looks like there's another review that had the same issues. Quit trying to blame each customer that had a negative experience with your company. You obviously have several issues to be sorted out and your pointing fingers at people paying you to do a job is not a good look.

I recently got On the Fly Moving to help me move my 1-bed apartment from Richmond to Henrico. The…read moremovers were very respectful about my items and made sure to strap them down once they were in the truck. They worked very efficiently especially moving items up 3 floors on an 85-degree day. The quote was quite accurate(even though I helped just a bit). There was a two-hour minium, even though it only took 1 hr 45mins to load, drive, and unload all of my items to the new apartment. Overall this was an excellent company for moving, and I will definitely use them again once I move!

After yet another text from them, I replied with "stop", assuming it was an automated system. Got a snarky emoji back. Very glad I didn't trust these guys with anything important.

Update: Bold Moving and Storage did offer to pay the $200 fee to repair our dresser which is a lot…read moremore than the 60 cent per pound covered by their insurance. One positive I failed to note in my original review is that they did provide 45 days of free storage opposed to standard 30 days. For these reasons, I'm increasing my rating from 1 to 3 stars. ___________________ During the sales and scheduling process, Bold Moving was wonderful. They were flexible and accommodating. They even said they would pack and move liquids if they were not "Flammable or combustible items (gasoline, kerosene, propane, etc.). Everything changed once they showed up. The packers were very nice but told us they could not pack any liquids. When I followed up with the salesperson they responded, "I thought it was only flammable liquids, but you could pack non flammables in a plastic bin not in cardboard boxes in case it leaks." The real challenge started when scheduling the delivery of our items after they were in storage for about 6 weeks. I emailed two weeks in advance asking for a specific delivery date. It was accepted as the first available delivery date, and I was told they would call the day before to confirm the delivery time. When I didn't receive that call, I followed up with them first via email then via phone. I was told they would put our stuff on a truck, and it would be delivered "sometime early next week" which was about 5 days later. It was clear they would not make the date requested but no one reached out to tell us. This was extremely frustrating since I had a business trip the following week. I followed up daily but could not get a confirmed delivery date. I canceled my business trip on a Monday when someone told me they would going to try and deliver our items that week. He was very clear that he would contact me when there was an update. Therefore, I stopped following up. On Wednesday, I received a phone call from the driver. They were 20 minutes away from the empty house I was not at. Due to the lack of communication in the delivery process, everything felt like a fire drill. I lost money on the business trip that had to be rescheduled and incurred additional costs extending our temporary housing. But, I was relieved to finally have our things. The delivery team was also nice, but many items were broken. The leg on one of our dressers was broken. They blamed the packers because the dresser was just wrapped with all the original items inside making it heavier. Some dressers were emptied but some were still full. I could here the contents of our nightstands rattling around inside. Although wardrobe boxes were used, none of our clothes were hung up - just thrown in the box with the hangers on them. Kitchen items were just thrown in boxes. Some of boxes weren't even properly labeled - just "K" for kitchen. Lastly, the delivery team left scuff marks all over the walls with deep dings in some places on the wall. This was my worst moving experience ever. I would never recommend Bold Moving & Storage.
