It is also a wonderful spot to come and just enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and all the surrounding areas. You can see Anchor Bay you can see Mac and Rays you can see all the way over to Harsens Island on a clear day. In the wintertime the ice fisherman love the spots on the bay because they can catch a multitude of fish from perch to walleye I've even heard it said a muskie or two have been caught right in these Waters. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has put a lot of time energy and money into this spot it's a shame more people don't come out and truly enjoy the peace of mind you get just by looking out into the vast view of Anchor Bay. If you're ever in the area make sure you stop by I think you'll enjoy it.

I have been turned away in the past if not there before noon on a Saturday or Sunday. Hopefully this is now been alleviated or less frequent. Restrooms available for men and for women. There's a Porta John in the winter months to accommodate ice fishermen. I like this launch better than the one at the end of S. River Rd, which seems to be more seaweed that flows down from the Clinton River. This site is included in the recreation pass that can be purchased when renewing your license plate for a very reasonable fee. I launch a 26 foot boat with plenty of room in length and draft.

My husband and I attended the island grill for dinner Sunday after our meal we chose to walk as the…read moregolf carts were full and busy going back and forth from the front of the marina. While walking to our vehicle the car gate arm went up for the golf cart in front of us and came down at an alarming rate hitting me on the head. There were several witnesses including a young girl on a golf cart. When my husband tried to find someone to address the issue of safety involved in this incident or make an incident report there was no one to help or to talk to about this clear safety issue. The punk teenage boy driving the golf cart blamed it on us saying the was a sign however there was NO sign on the side we were walking. After finding no help or effort from the island grill or the marina we left and stopped at the gas station up the road for ice for my head. That evening I had signs of a concussion and my husband took me to the ER the following day due to symptoms worsening. The Dr did a CT to rule out long-term head injuries and concluded I had a concussion and I would need to talk work off and rest. My husband, who has installed these gates many times, called the owners of the marina to rectify the issue and not only did they deny any responsibility but lied to my husband saying they had video footage of me getting hit in the chest. Saying he threatened this punk kid, honestly it doesn't surprise me that kid lied to his boss, but these are adults start acting like it and take some responsibility for your negligence. They admitted to my husband that they did not hook up the sensor to their gate so they eliminate multiple cars coming through the gate. This is dangerous!! These people are obviously incompetent as basic empathetic human beings, with no apologies, no care whatsoever, and no reassurance of putting up appropriate signage or making safety measures so no one else gets hurt. Next time it may be a child and that gate would easily break their neck. This marina is run by negligent owners! Don't go here there are plenty of other businesses that have people who don't act like heartless cowards.

After years of keeping my boat there I have to go some ware else. The facility is great but the…read morepeople that run it including the owners are sub-par at best. NO customer service. Would would think that Mr. Elder of Elder Ford would know how to run a business. Every year I had to deal with some type of there incompetence. Scheduling to have my boat put in but they decide that getting the Island grill is more important and reschedule me. another year l told them I'll let them know when I need it shrink wrapped and then doing it anyway before it was winterized, charging me more to shrink wrap than quoted and then breaking my antenna. Had to chase them around in the spring to get my new one. I was told one year that they had to reschedule to put in my boat because it was to windy. Only put in boats two days a week weather permitting. After labor day they begin to shut everything down everything. No gas, reduced hours, close the grill and want to start pulling the boats out before a date that they set. No outside labor is allowed. The company that they use is overpriced and really don't do that great of job. Everyone complains about it. The Island grill restaurant is over priced for the type of food you get and service. Nice atmosphere and great view though. If you can deal with the poorly run marina it is a nice place to keep your boat but there are others.
