Back story: There was a tornado-like storm the…read morenight before our inspection, which resulted in 80% of the county losing power and many rural roads completely closed due to fallen trees and power lines. A 25 min drive to our new home ended up taking over an hour. We spoke to the inspector & realtor by phone multiple times to update them on our location. By the time we arrived, the realtor had left and the inspector said he was finished, so we missed his inspection entirely. The inspector had a family member waiting in his vehicle during his inspection, and made it clear that he was ready to leave. He quickly went over the paperwork and assured us everything looked great. Immediately upon moving in, it was discovered that 2 of the 3 exhaust fans in the house didn't work, the ceiling fan in the bedroom didn't work, multiple leaks in the roof, a basketball sized hole in the storage building floor hidden under a large bucket. The back gate was defective, leading to our dog going missing for 24 hours, there was no dryer vent hole in the laundry room, and the flue in the fireplace was rusted open, leading to the AC running 24/7 and freezing up. All of this and we have only been in our new home for a little over a month. We were first time home buyers and trusted this man to provide the service he was paid for. We honestly feel like we were scammed!
