When searching for an ABA clinic that would truly meet our needs, the Pecos location of Proud Moments has been an absolute blessing to our family. Since my son started in April 2025, we've seen incredible growth in such a short time. After spending half a semester in the CCSD Child Find program, we transitioned to full-time ABA and could not be happier with the progress he's made and everything he's learning. Our RBT is amazing, and our BCBA challenges my son just enough because she truly believes in his capabilities. The front office staff are always kind, welcoming, and helpful. Ridiculous that I even have to post this, but WTF- their business model "quantity vs quantity" our review on our 7 years old's experience . (Just turned 7in Feb) nonverbal level 3 autistic- This facility operates on a bait-and-switch model, which explains why there's never a waitlist. They carefully select clients after assessments and fail to honor their own "treatment plans." If your child has behavioral challenges--as is often the case with severely autistic children seeking ABA services--this center will focus more on filtering you out than making genuine accommodations to meet your child's needs. Let's be honest: it's easier for them to remove challenging clients than to actually invest in effective treatment. Our son began attending full-time in January--his first ABA experience--only to be abruptly moved to in-home ABA with just one day's notice. We were told we were scheduled for a "discussion" about "incident reports" related to both the transition from their old clinic to a new facility and changes in his ADHD medication. Instead, the meeting was used to shift his placement! Mindful the "transition" to new location itself was chaotic and poorly managed. The new building was under active construction, with electricians working, lights out, holes in the walls, and workers constantly coming and going--making the environment disruptive for all the children. Naturally, the kids (especially mine) ended up with "incident reports" because their routines were turned upside down by exposed wires, ladders, and drills while therapy sessions were supposed to be underway. How could anyone expect them not to become overstimulated?! Their regional manager was in on the call and cornered us on their decision to transition our son into in home ABA on a Friday afternoon at 2 PM!!!!! They were under the assumption that he was going to be "staying home with no ABA services" until we could "make arrangements with our work schedules and figure out who would be home with our son for in home services"...... Absolutely not! I replied, "I work from home and we're ready to welcome your team on Monday for his transition to in-home ABA." Calling their reaction frantic would be putting it mildly. Their hope was that we'd withdraw from their services, but we stood our ground. After four weeks at home, we were told our son could "try to pause back into the center with improved behavior over the next month." Unsurprisingly, despite acknowledging progress improvements, their recommendation was still full-time in-home therapy, claiming we could revisit center-based options later. They continued referencing his medication, even though his RBT repeatedly reported noticeable progress in tasks, focus, and willingness to challenge himself. For a child new to ABA, he was making great strides compared to his experience with CCSD. It's as if they conveniently forgot about the plan--the regional manager's own plan--to reintroduce him to the facility after a few weeks. That plan was dropped without explanation. Meanwhile, we discovered they had billed our insurance as out-of-network and collected more than $42,000 for just 3 months. (After we gave them all checks sent to us, that's how we found out they are billing OON) over three months when we are, in fact, in-network. We have been communicating with their billing department for months. At the outset, we were advised that in-home services might not be covered and were told to request pre-authorization--I am willing to bet they never even submitted anything for the in home services they changed us to) That's a separate--but equally frustrating--problem. Now, we're just waiting for the bill to arrive. :) Nothing happened as promised. Yet, they had no problem collecting higher out-of-network payments. We had to contact our insurer, request reprocessing of all claims, and file a grievance to ensure reimbursement & to flagg Proud Moments. Unfortunately if Proud Moments doesn't rectify their billing, they'll face substantial recoupments for other clients with our insurer, BCBS due to over payment. Their practices are absolutely shameful. Had they communicated in advance and followed through on their own commitments, our frustration would be much less. If your child has complex needs, this company is a joke. Intensive therapy is exactly why our son needs ABA--to help prepare him for the real world--not to be excluded the moment he becomes a challenge. read more

So being promised all these things as a divorce, mom and being told that parents were the only ones to pick up and drop off and mom and dad are the ones to sign in/out and to be together on who is picking up their child. Being divorced coparenting is hard to deal with, but it turns out they make promises that they can't keep like for me. It was to not have a nanny pick up my child from their medical facility as they claim and not just to pick him up but to sign him in and out without the father being available. They took no consideration of what Mom wanted and even though we have 50-50 custody, it seems to not matter to them and now I'm going to be going to family court because of matters that were promised by Briar. I feel like I once really believed in this place but now it's purely business transactional. I felt like family here but now I feel like once I enrolled they were purely for money. They got what they were after a paycheck. read more

Our experience with this ABA facility was extremely concerning. The RBT working with your child can change daily, and we even had three different RBTs in a single day. That lack of consistency makes it hard for any child to feel secure or supported. Management communicates in a passive-aggressive, legalistic way rather than addressing concerns directly. When my son was hurt under their supervision, no one involved ever apologized or took responsibility. The only apology I received was after I escalated the issue to upper management, who thankfully took it very serious. The facility also relies heavily on "physical prompts" during meltdowns instead of using appropriate de-escalation techniques. Be aware and always check your child's body. Combined with the constant staff changes and poor communication, this created a setting I ultimately could not trust. Overall ABA can be very helpful and worth it, but only when you have a transparent team that cares about your child's safety and not upping hours to get paid more by insurance. read more

I have worked with Proud moments for almost two years now as an RBT. I started with CARD before the transition. What I have to say is the pecos clinic has exceeded most expectations for a work place. The two BCBAs that I have had the pleasure of working with since I started Myra and Daisy exceed my expectations. The clinical level of care and just overall care they have for their clients exceeds what any other BCBA I have met does. Daisy is extremely on top of her clients and RBTs progress she sets the bar for expectations extremely high because she wants to see her kids and RBTs thrive. I have a client under her. She pushes us as RBTs to do better every day so these kids can have the best clinical care they can get. She also is extremely caring she's always one the first people to notice when I'm having an off day and offer herself to listen or talk to even though she has an extremely busy schedule. When I am out she checks in on me the moment I return and asks how I am and if my son is okay. (My son has Autism and CP along with a seizure disorder.). The level of care and help I receive from Daisy is more than I have had from almost any leadership I have had in any field of work I have worked in. Myra is one of the most caring people when it comes to her clients I have ever met. I have a client under her. She exceeds all expectations I had going into the field. She is caring and kind and loves her RBTs and clients. She is constantly playing with the kids and attentive to her RBTs needs. Whenever I have had needed any sort of assistance with a behavior she is the first to step in and help whether she's the BCBA for the client or not. She has always been supportive and helped me become the RBT I am. From doing my competency assessment before I was an RBT to now almost two years later she has taught me and helped me in any way possible. Her clients and RBTs have her priority, answering her emails and messages even when she is out of office and providing assistance in anyway she can. Veronica is a newer BCBA to the clinic and in the short time I have been with her she has been amazing. I have a client under her and have felt nothing but supported since the beginning of the transition to her. She has made such a huge impact on her clients and RBTs in the short time she has been with us. She shows nothing but respect for her RBTs and goes out of her way for us in every way. She's open to listening to her RBTs and hearing out what they have to say about the clients and takes everything into account. I can't speak on behalf on the other two BCBAs directly but both Luis and April have been nothing but kind and helpful to me when I do see them. I currently do not have clients under them but you can see the love they have for their jobs just in how they interact with the clients. Overall as an RBT I can say your kids are loved and as an RBT you are supported by your BCBAs. read more

Hi everyone! If I could I would post 6 stars for this ABA center! I have been a client with my child who is now almost 10 years old for almost 7 years now! I have never ever had even one issue with the staff or the company in all these years. My son started at 3 years old when it was CARD clinic with level 3 Autism, and now thanks to Briar, Myra, Daisy, and all the wonderful RBT's he is level 1 Autism. I cannot thank everyone enough for what they have done for my child. My child now attends regular school in the full general education classroom with the assistance of a school aide and is thriving. When we first started ABA therapy my son had every behavior known to man, and had so many deficit areas. Now, if he is in a good mood and feeling social, you would never know that anything is wrong with him. The school team has told me that my child is the smartest with these problems that they have ever had. Well that is all thanks to Briar, Daisy, Myra, and all the wonderful RBT's over the years. These individuals and this company have gone above and beyond for us. They have always been there for us and have done anything to find solutions for my child's behaviors. Just recently, our wonderful BCBA, Daisy drove back to the clinic from home to assist my son after clinic hours because he was having a meltdown. Can you believe this? I mean it brings tears to my eyes. Briar has kept the clinic open an entire hour after it was closed, and called her husband to have dinner without her just to attend to my child's behaviors. Briar has given me her cell phone number and told me to text or call anytime my child is misbehaving so that she can address these issues when he is at the clinic. Briar cares so much about my son and me that I get emotional when I think about it. Daisy, our BCBA does the same thing as Briar, and even goes to school IEP meetings with me and doctor's appointments. My son has complex medical needs and I don't know what I would do without Daisy. Nobody cares more about the wellbeing of a child in my opinion than this ABA clinic. I think if I went anywhere in the world, I would never find people like this. I am pretty much a single mother too with no family here and have been the only caretaker for my child, who along with Autism and ADHD, has a Growth Hormone Deficiency, Sleep Apnea, and so on. Briar, Myra, and Daisy have always been so kind and supportive of me and what I go through. I don't think that there is anything that they wouldn't do for me if I asked. Autism is a very lonely and isolating disorder, but thanks to the support of these amazing professionals from Proud Moments, I have always had them to lean on and it got me through the dark times of my life. For anyone out there wondering if this is a good place to send your child for treatment, I can tell you it is the BEST! Better does not exist. We are so lucky to have this organization and incredible humans that do way more than their job description. It is their life, what they believe in, and your child becomes like their own. They do for your child what they would do for their own. And they do for the parent what they would want someone to do for them. I could not be happier or more grateful for Briar, Myra, and Daisy.
