I applied for a job on LinkedIn that was posted by Proven. They had good reviews on google which convinced me at the time -- until I realize that you are pressured to leave positive reviews despite the quality and results of service that the jobseekers will get. John Allen III wasted my time being overbearing with everything and especially with the interview prep teams calls and clients who go to this firm are not guaranteed an offer. This firm won't help you get your next job, they are professional time wasters with a twist. I won't go to them again. read more

I can recommend working with Proven, as they were able to place me in a role after months of me unsuccessfully trying on my own. Sydney Shields was responsive and compassionate to the difficulties of navigating the job interview process, she was patient and had great advice to share. However, if you work with Proven or any employment agency, you must still strongly advocate for yourself, even if you're very tired and feeling emotionally drained from the process. This is especially important when you are are assigned to work with 2 recruiters at the same time from the same company, like I was. In my case, I was given one salary range from one recruiter and then later told that my salary expectations were too high from the other recruiter, Mi Ly, and that the company they were trying to place me with would never even consider it because I was already at the top of the range. Turns out, that the salary I was asking for was listed on the job description they sent me. So, I'm still not sure what happened. But, ultimately I have a job with a good company; even if it hurts to take a paycut. I choose an attitude of gratitude in spite of the miscommunication and how it made me feel. The other thing that threw me for a loop was that they didn't prepare me that they would be reposting the same role that I accepted an offer for, the very same day that I accepted a written offer. Which caused me much worry and heartache thinking my job was going to fall through. So, there were a few mental hurdles I had to deal with but other than that, they were good to work with. I especially owe Sydney a debt of gratitude for coaching me on an appropriate 2 page resume length and to focus on the two most recent jobs and less on those over a decade old. I had a hard time letting go of all my bullet points, which made my resume emberassingly 6 pages long.
