I called the Church to see if there was any help they could give me for rides but was told I could watch the services on line and apologized. The church is big with the main hall fitting about 350 people. Journey Church is a Christian non-denominational church with 3 locations. The first location is in Fairview Park. I enjoyed visiting the Avon location for church. I was greeted upon entering, then I went to the complimentary tea/coffee station and poured myself a cup of tea, then I went into the sanctuary to find a seat. The 12:30pm service that I attended was a great experience. Pastor Phil spoke with enthusiasm and gave Biblical examples. The praise and worship team played lively music. If you're looking for a church, you should visit Journey Church in Avon. With that in mind, this parish has been a mixed experience for me. Architecturally speaking and in terms of interior design, it leans heavily toward a modernist, minimalist aesthetic that doesn't quite reflect the depth and richness of the Catholic tradition. The layout feels more akin to a Protestant worship space. The tabernacle is also placed off to the side by a window -- rather than in a central and prominent location -- which is a liturgical concern. While it's practical for outside adoration, it unintentionally downplays the centrality of the Eucharist, especially during the highest form of worship at the Mass. The Church teaching talks about the placement and design of sacred spaces matter -- not as personal preferences, but as visible signs of the veiled mysteries we celebrate. Beauty and reverence in church architecture help form the soul and draw us into deeper prayer. After all, the Mass is when Heaven and earth meet together. Imagine helping the faithful see that in the beauty of how the church is architected and design. This church is missing that overall. That said, the spiritual life of this parish has been a source of grace for me. The ability to stop by and adore Jesus in the adoration chapel almost daily has been great as it's a quiet and consistent reminder of His presence. The young adult group also gathers here weekly on Tuesday evenings, which has also been a major highlight. It's a faithful, encouraging community that's helps grow closer to Christ and connect with others on the same path. So while I hope to see this parish gradually move toward the sacred tradition that has been unfortunately lost throughout the Church ins parishes everywhere, I cannot deny the good fruit the parish does bear. Ultimately, this is a place where you can encounter Christ, deepen your prayer life, and be supported in your walk with Him -- and that's what matters most.

Because we relocated, we were never able to send our children to the school that is also highly regarded by parents. There are all differnt ministry options (small groups, womens' ministry, etc.) Although we moved 4 years ago, we pray that we find a congregation in our new location that is similar to St. Paul LCMS.
