My best advice for all things OHSU is to get scheduled with Immediate Care if you can help it and…read moreyou are in any pain. They do same day appointments ONLY, so call them as soon as they open. You will find as early as 8:05 am, they will already be booked out to two or three, they are *that busy*. It isnt their fault they are overworked and understaffed, so please try to exercise kindness when you interact with these providers and their assistants. Chances are, if youre stuck waiting to see your PCP, the IC clinic can at least get you started on a referral. They are also awesome at reaching out on MyChart extremely quickly if your issue isnt something they have the facilities to work with, for example there isnt an ultrasound in the Immediate Care clinic so you won't have any luck scheduling for that with them. They are happy to redirect you where you need to go. If you have a negative experience with an operator i PROMISE the clinic wants to know about it, especially if you believe you were being treated unfairly due to being on medicaid or medicare given their strict nondiscrimination policy. But of course my experience is bound to not be universal. There have definitely been times with OHSU generally that i have been frustrated and felt unheard, but the crucial, massively important piece is that *i contacted them about it directly and they made it right!!!* every time! Ive never had a reason to leave a bad review after asking them for help fixing a problem i had. Most of the time miscommunication on their part and/or my own difficulty interpreting tone was to blame, but even when there was a more serious issue, i felt totally safe contacting OHSU to correct it. The one time i felt too insecure to talk to OHSU about it directly, i went through OHP and they completely took care of it on my behalf. They want to help and they want to be aware of those on their staff who don't want to help. I promise you. It isn't perfect. No teaching hospital will ever be perfect. 8/10 times with OHSU as a whole you will be given to a fresh faced resident. But they are almost always willing to own their mistakes and make it better (and their supervising doctors hold them accountable too). I have tried Adventist and I have tried St John, and OHSU is the first place where i dont feel like cattle. I come from a deep red state though and some people talk about this marvelous establishment like its an Oklahoma Urgent Care. Nobody here understands what a utopia this place is with a quality of care i never thought possible. Moving here was like moving to the twilight zone. This is the kind of health care you hear people talking about other, more privileged countries affording their patients. And for most of us ITS FREE. Completely free. Im from multiple minority demographics so i know this isnt some type of conventional privilege being afforded to me, either.

No one tried to sell me insurance or medical mumbo jumbo they truly cared about my health and my families medical history. I always feel seen and heard visiting this location. I never feel rushed and if anything I feel comfortable and at ease. I've gone in from everything from a cold, to cuts, to all allergic reactions and they're always so quick to help. It's great as well because they have an in-house pharmacy for some prescriptions so it's nice not having to travel to an additional pharmacy to pick things up if you do get prescribed something. I've also done a CT here as well when I was experiencing vertigo and it was the most seamless experience.

Wasn't a concern as we have OON Urgent care coverage via our employer (which I showed to the person checking me in) so we proceeded. What they aren't transparent about is that they don't bill for Urgent Care, they bill it as an office visit. Why didn't the front desk mention they weren't an urgent care clinic?! When you call billing they stone wall you saying they aren't urgent care, they are primary care. No one believes Zoom Care is primary care, it is not how they brand themselves either. Never mind the PDF billing receipts says "Zoom Care Urgent Care" at the top. If you ask to speak to a supervisor, they aren't able to take calls. If you ask to have someone call you, they don't make calls. If you ask how billing issues are typically disputed, they say you call them (i.e. they will stonewall you). Mejla, my billing rep, was ROUGH on the call - very dismissive, interrupted, and was giving an attitude once I expressed the slightest frustration with the situation. Girl, go work for an ethical company, I'm sure you will be happier. Further, the consumer scheduling experience via the website doesn't indicate it's not urgent care, nor does it indicate their billing practices. In an urgent situation you are supposed to schedule and then navigate to another part of their website to read their billing practices.

With in 5 minutes I was met by a Nurse who took me back to the room. The nurse was very thoughtful about how I was feeling. I think she knew exactly how I was feeling when she asked "Are you here for your vaccination?" I said, unfortunately. She was apologetic. Even though it was not the hospitals fault. I contacted OHSU "Patient Advocacy" which ultimately resulted in the office manager of Gabriel Park or some bro in that capacity calling me back. The tech isn't as warm as the woman I've become used to, but they're fast and efficient. And she explained to me that a large weight loss or gain can impact the density of your breasts and therefore make the image much different than a previous image. She also explained to me that tattoos can affect the images!! So I did learn a lot while I was here. The care was excellent. I didn't have the need to interact with the office at all since I checked in online and did all my things lol so 5/5 not excited to go back but I'll be back next year!

My oncologist scheduled me here for my 6 month post chemo CT on a Monday at 7:30. A workday at the crack of dawn. No one checked with me first. So, I started grumpy. My minion picked me up at 6:30 and because of traffic, he was grumpy too. Parking was easy. The place was easy to find on the ground floor to the left of Providence Immediate Care. They had "Finding Dory" playing on a big tv and there was comfy seating. My wait was only long because I had to drink contrast beforehand in two doses over an hour. It was hard to stay cranky for too long. Everyone was really nice, the procedure was smooth. The contrast they made me drink was disgusting as usual ( I don't like the texture, I am a fragile flower) but they have a bowl of peppermints on the counter that really helped. Yay. My results were in My Chart fairly soon after, a clean scan. No sign of cancer. All good. And my minion got me a mocha after. Of course.

I came in for blood pressure issues that were causing me extreme anxiety (8 months postpartum). I…read morecouldn't get in to see my PCP so after an anxiety attack from my blood pressure being elevated (I continuously monitor at home 168/91) I went to the Urgent Care. Dr Leaf was very empathetic, and I feel like he did listen to my concerns. He prescribed me a short-term anti-anxiety medication to help get me through my mental anguish and reassured me that while my blood pressure *is* high that I am not "in crisis" and agreed that my anxiety about it being high was only making it worse. Here it is a month later and I am happy to report that my blood pressure has significantly reduced due to my anxiety being under control. I'm regularly getting 138/80 readings which are still a tiny bit elevated but nowhere near where they were which does make me feel a lot better. Thank you!

Blame the patient. Blame the insurance company…read more Take no responsibility. Because I couldn't get in to see my regular doctor, I went to UrgentCare for a rash I needed cleared up asap. The doctor was pleasant enough and I was able to get some meds that helped the issue (not completely, though, and it did return). The issue was the billing. Then the complete absence of customer care. When I went in, I asked how much the visit would cost and was quoted a number. I then verified this a couple of times, all with the same answer. So, imagine my surprise upon receiving a bill for almost double what I'd already paid! I called the office and was told they would *not* honor the quote I was given. When I asked why, I was told it's not their policy and that I should have read the policy document more thoroughly. (More about that below.) Eventually, I spoke with Dr. Leaf who apologized that his office staff did not provide the proper information and that he would work on training them better. OK, that's a good start. But what would he do for my situation? Would he honor the quote the office manager gave me (multiple times)? That's when he started getting pretty hostile. He changed tactics and accused me multiple times of misunderstanding the staff. Multiple times, I repeated that my husband was there with me and heard the conversation. When that didn't work, he changed tactics again and blamed me for signing the policy document saying that I should have read it more thoroughly. Here's what I pointed out to him . . . . When a person comes in to an urgent care center, their main concern isn't paperwork. Their main concern is getting help with an urgent medical issue they are facing, and they aren't always in a mental state to absorb the plethora of legalese built into a policy document. Knowing this happens was the main reason I asked for a quote - and verified it several times. He knows this too, but it's easier to take advantage of someone in a desperate situation. I pushed again and asked if he would resubmit the paperwork and honor the quote. Again, he refused, this time stating he couldn't according to his policy with the insurance company. Interestingly, when I spoke with an insurance agent (not a CS rep), she told me 1) yes, he could have honored the quote I was given, and 2) alternately, he could have submitted a corrected claim. Overall, I was shocked at the hostility I faced from the office staff who blamed me for signing the policy statement to the doctor who accused me of first misunderstanding, then not reading the document. And shocked at the lack of customer service. Sad that it came down to blaming the patient for trusting the office manager and an unwillingness to make the situation right.
