Awful visit. After suffering a stroke in August, I was FINALLY seen to receive a home heart monitor on December 3rd. Receptionist seemed more concerned about my ID than about why I was being seen, and when I was seen, it was by a pair of nurses but no doctor ever came in. The monitor I was given after waiting FOUR MONTHS didn't even work. It was fitted to my chest and I was given extremely rushed instructions and told the "phone" I was given would let me know about any problems with function. It worked exactly 20 minutes before it repeatedly kept telling me the monitor had "poor skin contact" (this was after shaving part of my chest with the world's dullest disposable razor). The machine did this repeatedly throughout the night, making sleep nearly impossible. Either set me up with the right equipment or at the very least, don't make me wait a third of a year for faulty equipment (which apparently needs to come from the other side of the country?). My blood pressure and nerves really don't need more aggrravation, especially from an office with 18 doctors--none of whom even bother seeing the patient on their initial visit. read more

Waited t months for a blood panel and INR check. Arrived at the clinic, and blood drawn. I asked, INR? No Dr did not order...Dr Le, cardiologist did not order, I was livid. Cnled my apt for two days later, no need to go, No INR. I slammed them on My chart. No health care here especially Dr Le...I fired her and will/will never go back. My doctor (cardiologist) didn't normally monitor my heart during most of my annual visits (not even a simple EKG). I only got monitoring if I asked for it. I should have been seeing the cardiologist quarterly and I should have received some meaningful monitoring each visit. Consequently, I had a heart attack on their watch. With proper heart monitoring this heart attack was preventable. read more

I showed up in the middle of a heart attack and received immediate and thorough response. The doctors immediately stabilized me and started a battery of tests. They inserted an imaging catheter through my wrist and found 2 blocked and a partially blocked arteries to my heart. Test results showed inflammation caused by an abcess on my liver which they immediately started treating and resolved. I presented them with a complicated case involving other biliary organs that a team of cardiology, gastroenterology and infectious diseases experts masterfully worked together to prepare me for an upcoming triple bypass. My experience with Providence Spokane cardiology was one of the VERY WORST! I lived in Spokane for over 33years, prior to moving to Scottsdale AZ for the past 12 years. I moved back last April to be closer to family. I received many excellent heart interventions when I lived here, it was Then the Heart Institute. I had a triple bypass 25 years ago by the excellent surgeon Dr. Leland Siewick. Through the years stents & other procedures were performed. To my dismay the shock of deterioration that has occurred since Providence has taken over is shocking! I have a pacemaker, the electrophysiology physician implanted in Scottsdale, ( the electrician), I also had an interventional cardiologist for the (plumbing) .Providence Spokane cardiology refused to let me see a cardiologist, I have been seen only by the electrophysiologist.My family physician has been requesting for months to have my current cardiac issues addressed by a cardiologist, only to be refused. I am 91 years young & active, DR. M. My electrophysiologist has commented on how great I look, & ignored the symptoms I recently have been experiencing in the last six months since he has seen me. I fired him for lack of care, & will be taking my future heart concerns to Pulse cardiology. Run don't walk from this practice. Everyone regardless of age needs to have a doctor that follows their Hippocratic oath, rather than dollar signs. PS if you ever call you'll be on hold for 45 minutes, if you need someone to call you back be prepared to wait days. Also the filth you will encounter in their parking garage & elevator when working is totally disgusting! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THIER PATIENTS! read more

I have been very happy with the work that is being done to help my husband and I understand his heart disease. Although we don't like going through all the tests, we understand why they are necessary. The doctors are great at explaining what is going on and what may happen and what our options are. They explain things thoroughly and even draw pictures to help us better understand how the heart works and how this type of heart disease is inherited and the effects it can have on our children too. I've been there many times in the past. This was the worst experience I've ever had there. The nurses didn't listen about my health. They DIDN'T explain anything. Stuff was just thrown at me. I was there for 4 days, NO ONE cleaned the room while I was there. NO ONE took the meal trays out. read more

Every single person with whom I interacted was kind and professional. We had a little trouble getting scheduled as a provider got sick but they were diligent about getting me in with plenty of time for my pre-op clearance. I'm a bit of a nervous Nelly (okay, maybe more towards a panic disorder) and they were awesome. Thank you to today's providers. read more

My entire family has ALways experienced the very best of care from Spokane's Heart Institute. However, our experience this week getting a kidney biopsy was horrific. In recovery, within 15 minutes, a severe pain in the kidney area biopsy site hit me and grew to a pain over level of 10 while escalating my blood pressure to alarming levels. Recovery nursing staff couldn't get the biopsy surgeon to return to me for 45 minutes! Then he didn't believe the kidney was bleeding. We waited for a ct scan. Over 2 hours later he decided an angiogram should be done. There were multiple coils required to stop the bleeding at a loss of kidney function. I am disappointed in the surgeon non response to being paged for a biopsy patient he had just finished with. As a patient, I wonder how much of my failing kidneys could have been saved? Perhaps Dr Castle should be trained in use of his pager and the fact that severe pain escalates blood pressure even during blood loss. read more
