I'm thankful Dr. Boulet was NOT my regular cardiologist but someone who stepped in for one of the…read moreroutine rounds while I was hospitalized after a heart procedure. He may be talented and well received by many and this could just have been an off day. I know physicians like anyone else, maybe more so, can get burned out or suffer exhaustions, etc. However, he was more than grumpy, yelling at me and at the attending nurse because he didn't like that my surgeon did something different than he would have. As if the nurse was responsible for my surgeon's course of treatment. Furthermore, instead of trying to figure out why my surgeon prescribed what he did, Dr. Boulet just complained about three times, in a shouting voice that could likely be heard down the hallways, before finally conceding he had agreed to honor my doctor's orders. He also was practically yelling at me to do a follow up with another specialist about something that had been handled well over six months ago and for which no further follow up is either needed or logical. His yelling and general grumpiness was to the level I almost wondered for a moment if he would fly completely off the handle and throw the computer or something. Not only no "bedside manner" but really, losing one's temper as a professional and with a patient who just came out of heart surgery? Really? The worst thing IMHO, is that he made an outright statement on my medical chart after the visit that was medically wrong - so wrong it would be patently obvious to anyone (consumer, patient, medical team) who understood what I was there for and had just had done -- and most importantly why it was done -- that his comments were shocking.
