After making arrangements to pick up some items for a friend on Saturday that were "pawned" at this "jeweler" (in fact the items were stolen but the items were pawned before the police report). I drove 2 hours to retrieve these sentimental items and the store was closed shut an hour earlier than their business hours. I spoke to a nice lady at the Jupiter store explaining that I had a conversation with someone at the Clematis store and they told me to bring cash and that for sure someone would be there until 4:30. The nice lady told me to go across to the Palm Beach store and see if someone was there. Of course that was closed also. So I drove back to Miami without the jewelry and called this morning and was offered no apology or explanation. In fact, Steve said to me., "I don't want to go there with you" and I don't know what that means when. I am asking for a simple apology and explanation. Doesn't that seem reasonable after driving 3 hours round trip and $30 in gas?? All he said was to send a check and when it clears they will mail me the items. Saying how customer service oriented they are...sorry but that is absurd. Customer service involves being open on the hours you advertise and certainly offering an apology for the inconvenience when you are not. read more

Not sure what changed, had very fair transactions with this store in the past but that is no longer true. Drove 1 hour because of past history to sell several jewelry pieces only to have them offer ludicrous amounts. I have since acquired better offers from more local establishments that were over 10 x times the amount offered by Provident. Save yourself from receiving insulting offers for your treasures.
