Galen Weston 'does it again'. Entering the store you are transported to the best supermarkets Europe has to offer. Moving to Canada in the late '80's and then going grocery shopping for the first time was a dismal experience. No thought was given to the customer experience, it was take it or leave it. Then Dave Nichol, the wunderkind appointed by Galen senior (as they shared dorm rooms together at school in England) revitalized the whole Canadian grocery scene, not just the Loblaw's marque. All other grocery stores have been playing catchup for 25 years.
This place has the best of everything. The cheese selection is unlike anything I've seen before in a general supermarket with huge local selections of Quebec and French cheeses. The meat department, incredible, with dry-aged meats to such states of tantalizing perfection to satisfy any gourmand. And they have a fresh seafood station, for crissakes! You can pick and choose your own oysters, shrimps and clams from a good selection, and pack them yourself. And Blue mushrooms! When have you ever seen those?
Go to this store. Now. You won't be disappointed.
