They come served with a knife pierced though the middle to hold it all together! And the sweet potato chips/wedges are a must, consider them to be the healthy alternative to the usual plain potato. Service is attentive & friendly and kids are catered for with colouring pictures & pencils which is a pleasant distraction to a mobile phone. If you have room for dessert, well there are options too but I've never been able to fit in dessert. There are lots of aviation photos & memorabilia to keep enthusiasts happy.

I also noticed that it's currently the highest rated place in this area. The local said the food was great and the service exceptional. He's right. It's a terrific place. I received a beautiful warm and friendly greeting on arrival. It's not a large place but it feels good here with an overall Spitfire influenced theme. That's Spitfire as in Spitfire the old aeroplane. I wasn't in an adventurous mood so ordered the Spitfire Burger with chips. The chips were delicious. Hot, tasty and beautifully cooked Very generous serve too. Same with the burger. Decent sized. In fact, too big for me to go close to finishing it. It had a good flavoured patty and was also very nicely cooked. This is a good, very well run place. Everything's in harmony. It's clearly a much loved place going by the people coming in and out regularly and the warm greetings and conversation I could hear. Nice place. Recommended.

I love, love, love the potato and pumpkin rosemary hash. I've come to this place about once a year…read moreover the last three years. Always getting the same thing. The dish has changed in presentation on the plate and its become more slick but personally I think it has lost a little bit of the crunchy deliciousness of having more elements in contact with hot pan and getting nice and crunchy. While on a weekend away in Red Hill we checked Yelp for a nearby brunch place and found Dee's. The place was busy but not annoyingly so when we arrived at around 10am on a Saturday. The coffees were... ok, but the food, OH MY, the food. I ordered the 'delicately smashed' rosemary potato and pumpkin, with garlic aioli, poached eggs and crispy pancetta. I am drooling just reminiscing about it. It was magical. A truly hearty dish that feels a bit like a roast dinner for breakfast but you will regret nothing! My partner ordered the smashed avo, which from all accounts was equally as delectable. They offer a variety of foods and wines to take home too - perfect if you live in the area or staying nearby and can't be effed cooking. Dee's Kitchen is probably the best brunch place down that side of Melbourne. Get involved!

Inside has a bunch of beer steins, and alcohol memorabilia, fun posters and pictures in frames, it's all fun to look at and take in. The outdoor area is nice too, plenty of picnic type tables to help enjoy the good weather. And there is what looked like a mini garden, that's nice too. On the other side of things, when you order a starter and it's brought to you, sometimes it's nice to have plates to eat on too. The calamari was not tasty and was a rubbery texture, it came with a matching portion of french fries/chips and a small salad. The best thing about that plate was the aioli dipping sauce. The veggie stir fry was dripping in sauce and was far too spicy for my liking. It wasn't an even plate, with the over-sized vegetables and the skinny rice noodles in a pool of spicy sauce. And the prices for what you're getting, that didn't please me either. I'm sorry for the negative, but it was solely based on just the look and feel of the place, for sure it'd be a five star from me.

If I ever go back to Australia again, I am 100% certain I will come back here. The maple Canadian bacon alone is worth the trip to this small cafe. As an American, I definitely cannot go back to eating the bacon we have there after I've this. I hope that many more people will be able to find out about this small eatery because it's totally worth it.

This is apparently the result of a recent renovation which has been thoughtfully and tastefully executed. The style is good but is in no sense overdone. It feels and is pleasant. It helps the mood too that good music was playing as well when we arrived. The food was great. My beef brisket burrito was recommended by our server. This was a very sound recommendation because it's a cracking dish. It's a really good thoughtful brekkie brunch dish and one that'd be very at home st any of the well rated Melbourne brunch cafes. I could barely fault it. It had just the right amount of good flavoursome meat. This was accompanied by Perfect melted cheese and great black beans. The salsa was a beauty too. Finely chopped and very flavoursome as well with even some carefully chargrilled corn. Only the bed of rocket seemed a bit rough and ready and even then my judgement might be a bit harsh. I was worried the dish might be too small when it first arrived but again I was wrong as the size ended up being spot on. There was a slight understated spice to the dish which I thought was lovely. Sadly I didn't get the chance to make enquiries about that. This was the best of this style of dish that I've had for quite a while. It really was very nicely composed and beautifully made and cooked. It had me slightly in awe actually and I'd have great trouble ordering anything else if and when I come here again. My partner had the ham cheese baguette which she enjoyed very much. She was particularly taken with the bread which were were advised came from Laurent. Our coffees to finish were excellent too. Up there with the best. So why is this place not rated higher? We can only speculate but we did find the service here a bit languid. We had to chase a server to put an initial order in. My dish was put down roughly in front me of dislodging some of the carefully arranged garnish. My milk in a jug with my coffee had little blacks things in it too. None of this is serious stuff. I gained an impression that there were a few details holding things back. We will definitely come here again. If they iron a few of the little details out, this place could easily score more than 4.
