Low key spot in the back of a butcher shop. I had no idea what to expect, but it's basically an upscale neighborhood joint for steak and wine. The party next to us we're in suits and cocktail dresses, but we felt totally comfortable in jeans. The service was great--our waitress was super helpful and attentive, and the support staff never let our glasses go more than half empty. We ordered burrata with minted peas to start, which was fresh and flavorful. For mains, we split a New York strip with a side of mushrooms and a green salad. The meat was good and came with a delicious pan sauce, but not the best we had in Montreal. The mushrooms has a generous amount of morels and a tangy, sherry-tinged sauce. It was way too much food for two, and I'm so glad we didn't each get our own entree! The dessert, a salted caramel dish with chocolate domes, was a skip. Dinner was unrushed, the music was great, and the staff was amazing. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Montreal. read more
