I booked my first lyra class here on a complete whim, and I had no idea that I would fall in love. Everything I have learned about the art, the physicality, and myself has been an absolute joy. I've attended some dance/fitness classes before at other studios, and actually this same one before it was taken over by Prowess, and I am truly impressed. The community here is what is a standout! Everyone is so encouraging, and the girl power is real. I grew up doing competitive gymnastics, and I've always looked for something that has scratched that itch, and lyra was that to a tee! Inga is a spectacular instructor, and caters to everyone's level, while keeping things just the right level of challenging. She implements great conditioning exercises at the start of classes to get everyone warmed up enough to do any inversions. There were mats in case anyone wasn't ready to do anything on regular floor, and with a max class size of 6 and 3 hoops, everyone got lots of time on the apparatus. When I tried my first pole class I had no idea I'd come to find my newfound love for pole and everything that it does for you. It provides you strength, flexibility, and discovery of self. The entrance has the main pole room which is nice and spacious. They also have another room for aerial classes and it also has some poles in there. They also have 2 restrooms. It is such a nice pole studio with the warmest welcome from not just instructors but the people there! You are surrounded by all kinds of amazing people at all levels who are so encouraging and that just keeps you motivated to keep coming back. I love all of the instructors who make it such a safe space to learn and grow with no judgment. I have never experienced a dance class that was filled with such loving energy before and people who help you tap into your most authentic and feminine self. There's something so addicting about this place where you can let go and express yourself fully. It's cool that the instructors offer you grip and even their heels to try. They also have multiple tripods so you can record your progress and choreo. People are genuinely so kind in the pole community. I love that they have different packages that are so worth it! A lot of dance studios just do drop-in classes which can really add up, but their beginners package is a bang for your buck, considering you can do multiple classes a day every day. I immediately bought it and try to go almost every day I'm off work. Thank you Prowess Pole for this new experience in my life. I've had the opportunity to take several pole fitness classes here and I'm having the best time. Signing up for classes and purchasing passes is done online and is a very easy process. They have basic intro classes and very advanced classes. You will see all ages, body shapes, skill levels in every class. The instructors are helpful in breaking down each step and making sure everybody is comfortable before moving on or adding additional moves. They walk around and give helpful pointers and tips. The groups are also always very supportive of each others wins. Dress code is short or skimpy shorts or bathing suit bottoms& tank/bra tops and barefooted for basic classes (but definitely wear what you're comfortable in). Classes are small averaging 6-10 girls. You definitely can feel it the next day, it's a fun workout!! read more

One of my buddies decided to go for a unique experience for her birthday party today, so a group of 11 of us came in for a Pole Party at the Purple Palace Pole Studio. It's about $30/person for an hour, which is a very reasonable rate for this type of experience. None of us had ever pole danced before (who knew that the poles actually spin?!), but by the end of the 1 hour class, we were all masters of the basic moves. Our instructor made us comfortable at the beginning with some icebreakers, and then we got down to working on some choreographed routines. By the end of class, my wrists and thighs were aching. I'm going to be incredibly sore tomorrow. This is way more of a workout than you expect. One tip - wear the shortest spandex shorts that you own, and bring a pair of comfortable heels (or rent some from the studio). The skin exposure helps you grip the pole and it's super hard if you don't have skin-to-pole contact. Also, be ready to let loose and have fun. read more

I love this place!!! Special thanks to Dawn for her communication and accommodations. She made the setup and this experience really great for our girl's night. Originally, I only intended to have fun with the girls for our night out, after 15 minutes, I quickly realized the "pole fitness" part. This is a workout! but super fun! I think at some point, the instructor realized we were not very sober and we were having a hard time following instructions, so she had us do some freestyle and just had fun with it. I really appreciate dawn and the instructor's ability to keep us in task but at the same time giving us a break when we need to. This is such a fun activity and I can't wait to do it again. Just following up on last review because the owner responded and I wanted to update some photos of the exact email confirmations I received back in April. I'm happy to accept a complimentary class of I receive any accountability or acknowledgment of the misunderstanding being the companies responsibility and perhaps a mention of an intention to fix whatever issue the website is having with technical issues or whatever the case may be as to why this issue occurred in the first place. That would help me be reassured that in the future it wouldn't happen. But when a company dismisses their unprofessionalism and minimizes it as a perceived interaction that undermines my experience as a patron or potential patron... I just don't think unfortunately I'd be comfortable in a space where there is no accountability or receptivity for feedback or constructive criticism. I'm big on self improvement and growth but that can't happen where there is no willingness to accept constructive feedback. And when I finally got a pick on the phone lines the receptionist was unprofessional, short and constantly interrupting me. The over the phone interaction was unforgettable. read more

The studio is clean and private (tinted windows & they lock the door, so no randos can creep). Dawn was incredibly helpful & sweet coordinating the party details. Nichole was our instructor and she's so fab!!! Incredible dancer, teaching is easy to follow, and she cheers you on the whole time. Tried to call them to schedule a fun pole dancing session as part of a bachelorette party. Thought it would be somthing fun for me and my bridesmaids. Got put on hold. And hung up on 3 times. Nobody could tell me if it was even possible. They just kept hanging up on me and then finally one lady snapped at me and said "yea.....we don't do that. Why don't u just take them to a bar" and hung up AGAIN!!! The background sound chaotic. Just not very professional. If they weren't able to do it that's fine but I expecting some more professionalism and could of done without the attitude. read more

Usually come in sometimes for open pole, I came to buy some pole grip and shoes for work and I was running late and they said their card machine was down and so I went to get cash and they locked the doors... Now I am not trying to be rude but I literally was only gone for a few minutes and they definitely weren't closed yet for another 30-45 minutes so I think they didn't want to offer service to me for another personal reason and I was being very respectful about it read more

We took a choreography class to celebrate one of my daughter's friends birthdays and had so much fun! From the minute you walk in the door the staff makes you feel so welcome. There were many people in the class of all different ages, sizes and walks of life. Everyone is helpful and encouraging. The studio is also very clean! I was in town for a work function and didn't want to take a week off from pole so I decided to give this studio a try. To start, it's a beautiful studio with a great atmosphere. I bought their first time client special which is 2 classes for $25 (for those not familiar with pole class pricing, this is a great deal). I took the sexy spin class on Tuesday night and the Tricks and transitions class on Wednesday night. Both teachers taught great classes and I learned two fun routines. I had a great class at Purple Rain. The studio is just as beautiful and sexy as the pictures. Stunning wood floors and deep purple walls in honor of His Purple Badness :) I would guess there are about 12-15 poles. All except two are 45 in diameter and have a spin setting. Two poles are 40 in and do not spin. There is a slightly elevated stage for the instructor at the front center of the class (which was very helpful to see her better). Very professional, friendly receptionist checked me in and wiped down my pole. I had registered online with a pretty standard pole class website, no problems. I took Pole Dance Diva. The format of the class is lead and follow warm up/stretch then she teaches you choreo at about 8 counts at a time to a song. The instructor was very good at teaching the moves, friendly and entertaining with helpful tips that she kept coming throughout. The music was current and set the mood (2 Chains I think?), her choreo was sexy with just the right amount of challenge. We left our poles on spin for the entire time, which is new for me, but not a problem because while we used the pole throughout the choreo, only one spin at the end really engaged the spin feature. I only have two minor suggestions for improvement: I like that they turn off the lights at the end to set the mood for the final "performance" but it gets just a little too dark. I couldn't see a thing. Maybe some disco lights? Second, the poles may be just a touch too close together. When we were freestyling at the end I had to be careful not to be on the same side as my neighbor. Then again, my neighbor and I were both quite tall so that may have been the issue. Super fun experience. I was in town for a conference and every time I travel, I look up pole studios since I do pole regularly back home in Chicago.
