This is nothing like I expected - it's absolutely insanely amazing. I started on level 1, and now I'm in level 3/4 (combined class). Jacqueline was my first instructor - amazing skill and be prepared for a ton of giggles from her. Next up is my current instructor Jasmine. HOLY CRAP this woman is a firework full of energy and encouragement. She is an incredible teacher, who helps focus on technique and takes the time to personally help each student. Elaina is the very best!!! She explains things differently and is so supportive. I would highly recommend Express MiE to anyone looking to find a different fitness activity - no mirrors, nothing there to make you self conscious. It was an awesome experience! The instructor broke up the routine in simple to do steps, was fun and VERY supportive. The other women in the class were very open, friendly and supportive of each other too. The woman at the check in was very friendly and helpful and explained how the studio works. It was my first class here and I drove about 40 min for it. I will be back and will make a way for it to become part of my weekly routine. I purchased a Groupon for a class for my Birthday Party. Myself and 9 of my friends went to the class. It was amazing. We did the pole/lap dance combo class and it was so much fun. We all had an amazing time. It is a works out for sure. We were all sweating and laughing and having a great time. I appreciated how she also watched and would help make the corrections to form so as to get things right without injury. She shows excitement and passion and is encouraging. This place is so much FUN, I'm becoming a dance-aholic and I'm ok with that! They have these amazing dance fitness classes - the basics like ballet and tap but then way more interesting ones too... try salsa, bellydance, 80's dance, club dance, burlesque, hula and more! It's crazy how many different things you can take and you're not limited either, they've got this amazing membership that lets you take any of the dance fitness classes you want! I cancelled my gym membership (good-bye elliptical!) and signed up for ClubMiE Girl and I love it. I used to come up with every excuse to avoid going to the gym but now I can't keep myself out of the studio, I want to try every class. I literally took five different types of dance last week. I even signed up for the pole-ah-tease classes, yeah, me a girl from Iowa is taking pole dancing! YIKES! But seriously, it's not freaky or skanky or anything like that, it's the most amazing workout EVER. We do yoga & pilates to work our muscles and then go into the pole moves which are really fun and then we do a floor routine too. My guy friends think it's way too cool and all want me to get their wives to come with.... they begged me post pictures of my stripper shoes on facebook! You've got to check it out, you'll be addicted in no time too! It's ok if you've never danced before or if you've danced your whole life. I started taking ballet when I was 4 but that sure doesn't help me with the pole dancing! I've had so much fun and the instructors are amazing, they're so encouraging, I can't wait to learn more. I attended my first class here before this place officially opened, and I've been coming back for 4+ years. Love their dance fitness classes. I've only been disappointed by two - one instructor that had no rhythm but hasn't been there for about two years, and another (So you think you can dance) class where we learned part of the Thriller dance. Not exactly what I thought I'd be doing, and a little disappointing to that end. I've finished the first two levels of their pole class, and have enrolled for the next session. It is a little spendy, but so much fun. Class sizes are super small, so you get a decent amount of both feedback and time on the pole. Christie is awesome, instructors are awesome (super bummed Kathy left!), and the place is a blast. I am often uncomfortable in "social" situations where I don't know anyone (to include group fitness classes), but this place really draws you in and makes you feel connected. read more

I've been attending classes here for almost two years. It's a SUPER positive atmosphere. Don't make jokes about being a stripper or ever say you're fat or anything bad about yourself. You'll feel super awkward because that isn't the culture at all. It's all about loving yourself and discovering how strong and capable you really are. And making friends and having a freaking amazing fun time. I have zero dance experience, no natural grace, and within six months I felt like an amazing dancer! I recommend getting the $75 membership, because it gives you a huge discount on the level classes, and you have plenty of credits to drop into lots of conditioning, trick, and choreography classes. Yes, it's not as cheap as a huge gym, but it's an investment in yourself and I have no issues with the cost. It's worth it. I kept my membership even when I was unemployed. I got 2-3 times a week typically. The nitty-gritty... It's totally a beginners studio. If you want bright lights and all sort of crazy and dangerous flipping and spinning around - this place isn't for you. Instead it's always fairly dark with fun music playing, and you start at the absolute basics. There are 7 normal levels you move through. Level one and two you are basically building up strength and learning to style your dancing. Then in three and four, you start climbing and learning to flip upside down. Five, six, and seven gets into the meat, I feel like. Handstands, lots of spinning pole, etc. And then there are two advanced levels - 8/9 that are an introduction to aerobatics. Those tricks are super tough! It's nice to have something to continually be working on. Plus there are "lab" classes that you can drop into that are working on new stuff all the time. read more

I love expressmie. I work corporate full time and going to a pole class once a week is my "me" time. I am now at level 3 out o 8 levels i believe and i definitely have learned so much. Every time i think "theres no way i can do that!" I actually end up being able to do so! The teachers are really good at making it easy for us to learn everything. Loved my experience at the Express Mie studio in Chandler! I took the sexy core class and the flexible femininity class back to back and let me say I definitely got my moneys worth! The sexy core was fun and upbeat, and then the flexibility class gave me such a good stretch and made me feel very sensual and relaxed-perfect supplemental cardio for an exotic dancer like myself. (Pro tip for other dancer babes-you can write off Express Mie pole classes as a business expense on your taxes!) The environment was intimate and cozy and the instructor was very welcoming. I've completed level 1 & 2 and attended multiple drop-in classes. Aside from the fitness benefits (I've lost weight, increased flexibility & balance) and the amazing pole skills, I look forward to the way I feel afterward, more confident, sexy and relaxed. The meditation at the beginning of class sets a really nice tone in which everyone can leave their worries at the door and be present for the fun. We're always getting to know each other a little better and having a blast watching one another's progress. You really will learn so much from each class and have a take-away choreo or moves that will impress any audience. Additionally, the studio is run well. Classes start on time and don't end early. Scheduling is convenient with smart phone app. The staff & instructors are always friendly and helpful. The space is clean and has great lighting and dance amenities. I love the thoughtful little gifts that we get in the 6-week pole course, which really make me feel appreciated as a student. I hate to have to do this, since I appreciated the chance to check this place out courtesy of the Yelp Ladies Appreciation Day. The studio itself is nice and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I received a tour and the bathrooms and studio were clean. Now, anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE to workout. I LOVE to sweat. I workout for over an hour 4 times a week and longer on weekends. I can run 12 miles no problem and do so most Sundays. However, I'm not the strongest or most toned person in town, so I do like to try different classes to mix it up and work my muscles. Hence my excitement when I saw the description for the GI Jane class here. I love words like "intense workout", "burn mega-calories", and "hard core workout". It gets me all excited inside. And I was excited, until about 10 minutes into the class when I hadn't even started sweating yet - yet alone burning the "mega-calories". The energy wasn't high and the pace of the class was slow. When it ended, I felt like I needed to go to the gym and get a real workout in. Talk about false advertising..... I can see where those who like dance-y classes would love this place, as most of the classes seem to incorporate some form of dance. That's where Express MiE should keep there focus - since other reviewers seem to be pleased. Following the class, Sarah G. (just realized that was you!?!) inquired about the instructor's qualifications. Turns out she has no fitness certifications, just a "dance background". Exactly my point....stick to what you know. Christie (the owner) has a FANTASTIC concept in what she has created with Express MiE. The passion she brings to dance is definitely what sets her studio apart from others! I've known Christie since the pre-studio days...back when she hosted pole-ah-tease and lap dance parties at her house. I am so excited that she has expanded and now owns a full service dance studio! When I was first invited to check a class out, I had no idea what to expect...and was definitely a bit nervous. Pole dancing? Eek! Coming from a self-proclaimed "non-dancer"...I had a blast! Christie and the other teachers understand the "first timer" jitters, and have you forgetting about them in no time. The new studio is....well....GORGEOUS. It is apparent a lot of time and energy went into creating the space, as each room seems to fit the type of dance taught perfectly. In addition to the dance studios, there is a "lounge" where you can hang out with the girls after class. Oh did I mention girls only? That's right ladies....let those inhibitions run free! Lastly, for those of you that are skeptical of the actual "workout" you get...the morning after I tried the lap dance class I woke up with a body screaming for an epsom salt bath! This review is strictly regarding the pole/lap dance party service: We had a group of 8 ladies for a Saturday afternoon party. We showed up about 15 min late as we had some trouble finding the place (you can only enter the business from the back door). As a result, our party was cut short which was unfortunate. We figured that we could simply cut out time from taking pictures to learn more moves but this was not the case. However, the party was still fun and our host was great! She even showed us her pro-moves which was amazing to see. It inspired me to look into these classes as a workout option. Would def recommend to friends! read more

I have done drop-in classes a few times and each time, all the staff in there has been awesome. They even have a little boutique!!! Fun, fun, fun way to get exercise!! I've been attending classes at Express MiE for a few months now and I really love it. I don't think I've taken a class I didn't like. My favorites so far have been Nia, Yoga Booty Ballet and Glee with MiE. But in all the classes, the vibe is positive, it doesn't matter if you don't get the moves quite perfect, and it's just simply a lot of fun. Some classes are definitely harder than others. Dance Sculpt will get your muscles burning and I took a cardio class that included running, jumping rope and a gazillion squats. So there really is a class for every girl out there. If I'm looking for a more intense workout I just take two classes - they're only 45 minutes each so two classes won't eat up too much of your evening. They change their schedule every six weeks or so so there is always something new to try. And all the classes are scheduled online so it's easy to know what's coming up and keep track of what you sign up for. If you're looking for a fun way to workout try this place out. It's way more fun than a treadmill at the gym. read more

Participated in a really fun bachelorette party here! We learned a burlesque chair routine. The instructor was so friendly and was cheering us on the whole time. I'm very uncoordinated, but I was able to follow along with the steps and didn't feel overwhelmed. At the end we got time to take fun/funny pictures and the bride got to take a saucy picture to send her fiance. Would definitely recommend this for ladies' night out or future saucy parties! read more
