Best place I am aware of in the area to get groceries. Although the prices are a little higher which is to be expected. Good selection of produce, meats, specialty cheeses, some grab & go, and other expected grocery store items. Best would be to bring your own groceries when staying in the area but that's not always feasible. read more

We do not go to Walmart anymore, so it is nice to have this grocery store to go to while in the area. They have a nice produce and a decent gourmet cheese selection. I would love to see more organic options and suspect that may pick up a bit with all of the tourists coming into town on the weekends. They always have a little clearance rack in the produce that has random marked down items that would probably need to be used immediately but most of the time, the items are $1 a bag. Sooo much better than the Walmart down the street! I highly suggest this for stocking your cabin over the box chain! There is a limited selection, so don't go thinking it's going to have tons of options, but we got what we needed! I would have given them 5 stars, but the cashier and the lady bagging the groceries were in a full blown personal conversation about their families. Pruett's Grocery store is more about convenience than anything else. The parking lot is difficult to navigate, the store is dark and uninviting, and the prices are a little ridiculous. There is no way that the locals shop here. But this store has location, location, location, and it's the most well stocked store before hitting the cabins of Broken Bow/Hochatown. I highly recommend doing your non-perishable shopping prior to getting on the road, and using Pruett's for things like dairy and frozen goods. It is only 15-20 minutes from the cabin area, and you would pay even more at random stores once you get closer, but this is not where ANYONE should do the bulk of their shopping... read more

There is not many grocery stores to choose from so if I was needing something would run here. Prices are more expensive but paying for convenience. If I were coming back to Brocken Bow would stop at a bigger grocery store before coming to town. read more

Cool little supermarket in Broken Bow, the cashier was very friendly and helpful as well as the guy bagging groceries. Some people do have a lasting impression. Typical supermarket all you can imagine is there, if you are from out of town like me and need a few things for the cabin, the prices here aren't bad. read more

This place is great! The meat department was super legit, butcher in the window using ban saw cutting down a rib roast into ribeye cuts. The produce department was perfectly displayed and everything looked fresh. I mostly loved that the check out stands were not loaded with candy crap to tempt my kids. read more

Highest prices I've ever seen. They take advantage of you because its so rural. Things are already so high, then they just "pile on."

They text me all throughout my order picking process. Told me all the options and made it such a welcoming experience. Home town love was clear! They don't take tips either! And when I got home with my groceries they had a gift bad with treats and a hand written note. The food I got was high quality and fresh. You didn't even have to search for the best item they all looked great. Very well organized and clean. My Wife and I walked other areas of the store and they did not disappoint either. Don't let appearances fool you. Even though the all metal exterior looks more like an U-Haul rental center than a grocery, Pruett's offers quite a selection. My wife and I were impressed at the offerings of this small town supermarket. We were able to find everything we needed without issue. The market was well-staffed, and the employees were neighborly and eager to please. Pruett's Foods is located on Highway 259 as you head south out of the state park and back to the city. I suspect, as with us, they get a lot of business from visitors to Beavers Bend State Park bringing in supplies for their rented cabin. The convenient location made our choice of where to stop a very easy one. After all, we were on vacation. Who wants to spend time bargain shopping or hunting the nicest grocery in Broken Bow? You don't have to worry about falling asleep from the Muzak or adult contemporary hits while pushing your cart. Pruett's shakes it up with both kinds of music - country and western. And you know you are in a true southern, small town locale when the gallon jugs of sweet tea number as many as the gallons of milk. It was a nice temporary change of atmosphere from home. We worked our way quickly through the store picking up the items we chose not to bring with us. The store was laid out nicely, and we had no issues in locating the aisles we needed easily. After we grabbed everything we needed, we head to the checkout. The checkout experience was refreshing. The folks were down-home friendly and actually seemed happy to be at work. They were impressed with our reusable bags. They don't seem to have made it here yet. Small town hospitality can't be beat and Pruett's has plenty of it. read more

Purchased "big John's" fire wood from here and it was soaking wet. We couldn't even use it for our fire!! Do not buy firewood from here!

After the other two Grocery stores folded up a few years back, Pruett's prices shot up and they have fewer sales mainly because they don't have a Super Center Walmart to deal with as the closest one is in Idabel but well worth the extra 15 minute drive. On the plus side, the employees are very friendly. read more

The only grocery store in town. It was ok but it had a terrible terrible smell. I think it was the stench of old grease from the fryer. It made my stomach turn. The prices were good, and the people working there were very nice. I just could not get over that stinky smell. read more

I have a long and somewhat complicated story with Valliant, Oklahoma, where there is a Pruitt's Food Store. Having grown up in the grocery business, it was fun and interesting checking out Pruitt's. I'd say they've done a great job with this store. It was larger and more modern than the previous building. The pharmacy, meat department, produce and take away deli were superb. It's a plus to the Valliant community to have a Pruitt's. read more

I thought we had fallen into a time warp, or a worm hole, or maybe had hitched a ride with Marty McFly... The staff at Pruett's work with customers just like they were supposed to way back when I was a kid. As my wife was attempting impress the fam with her killer quesadilla dinner, we made our first trip into Pruett's. We asked a young man (that's old folks' slang for a guy less than 40) where the salsa might be; rather than direct us to an aisle number and an approximate location, he actually took us to the shelves and explained the strong (and weak) points of each brand. He then proceeded to gather for us the Hatch Chilies and all the other make'ns we needed. Honestly, I've never had service this good that I can remember. He didn't force himself on us but he busted his behind to be sure we got what we needed. Thanks Pruett's; you are absolutely doing something right. read more

On the way to our weekend cabin this past weekend, we stopped by Pruett's for much needed supplies (junk food and grilling items,) rather than sell our souls to shop at Wal Mart. And what we found was a lovely, albeit a little small, grocery store with an incredible friendly and helpful staff. Pretty self explanatory here. If you want to load up on groceries (outside of cold beer that you should buy across the border) and don't want to bend over for Wally World, stop here. read more

Pruett's is a favorite of the locals. They speak highly of the Pruett family who goes above and beyond in helping their community and providing great service. The pharmacy staff is extremely nice and helpful, providing a personal touch. The produce is the best you can find in the area. You can occasionally find organic meat too. I try to spend my money here rather than at the big-box stores. They also employ a lot of locals which is wonderful! They do not have a lot of the healthier food, but have lots of staples. read more

I agree with the other review. I've shopped here twice and both times we found all that we needed AND they had very reasonable prices to boot. The employees are very nice and seem glad to help. We got fresh lunchmeat at the deli counter and it was great-tasting at a great price. I highly recommend shopping here if you are up there camping or boating. read more

I always try not to shop at Walmart if at all possible, so we decided to give Pruett's a try. Had everything we needed, lots of options, very clean and the people working there were so very nice! We were staying in the Hochatown area again so we went to Pruett's for groceries. The odor when you walk in is the worst it's ever been. The store is always cramped and cluttered which makes navigating the place a battle in its self. But the very worst part was getting back to our cabin and finding tiny bugs that looked like fruit flys in our package of hamburger buns. I do not intend to ever go back into this dump unless I know for sure that things have changed. Idabell has a Super Walmart and it is well worth the time it takes to get there (20 minutes) to avoid going into this nasty store. read more
