In both incidents, the GI doctor had to perform a procedure to remove food that became stuck in her esophagus. Dinner is included in the rent. Residents have to pay for it even if they do not eat it. We requested that the office consider offering at least one soft-food entrée option for seniors, but they were not helpful and declined to make any changes. I do not recommend this senior housing. The rent increases every year, yet the quality of service does not improve. It used to have a long waiting list, but now there are always openings-- and this is not surprising.

The trains can be noisy at times, but the location is hard to beat. It is close to many supermarkets, restaurants, library and senior center. They even have Chinese newspaper newsstand outside the complex. The security is also good. I checked a number of senior homes, and sometimes they are very depressing and smelly. Dining facility provides public-school-cafeteria-level NON- health/-convalescent NON-NOURISHMENT (e.g., no comprehension of special needs foods such as kosher or lacto-ovo vegetarian menu items. Some of the staff try to provide good care, but there appears to be little inducement to do so. Physical therapy, "physical therapy" is a joke--sparse, rare and without using a treatment plan. For your loved one's sake, go elsewhere, take them elsewhere!

The admissions lady was leaving for maternity leave, but assured me that we were first on the list and that we would be notified soon. We were givin the paperwork and had it filled out completely. After about two months of hearing nothing, we called to follow up, but were told the two rooms were no longer available, and they had no idea when a private room or double occupancy room would be available. They didnt even take the time to call. They gave our room to someone else and didnt have the courtesy to make a phone call. We have now wasted a year of our lives waiting on Presbyterian Home. We trusted what we were told so we did not look for an alternative. Now we have to start over. One would think that Presbyterian Home Quitman would be more sympathetic and understanding considering their customers are going through the toughest time of their lives.
