However, this week they were available. They didn't just send one guy out. They sent a crew. They were here for hours on day one, trying to find what had been causing the illusive glitch. They tweaked some areas vulnerable to water, and fixed a compromised switch, but admitted that they'd found no decisive "smoking gun." But they didn't give up. Day two they were back at it. Time for surgery on our courtyard floor. After hours of digging, probing, thinking, and moving things around, there came, through the wind and the cold, this jubilant and authoritative declaration: "We found it! Here's your problem right here!" And there it was... an underground conduit that had been lanced in two; shriveled from arcing and who knows what. I haven't even mentioned the attitude, friendliness, and approachability of each of these workers. You can tell when people really care.
