I called Die Hard looking for a service I could trust to work on two homes our family owns in the area. After speaking with the owner, I decided to give them a try and I'm very happy I did. Their technician, Mike, showed up at my daughter's home, on time, to find my daughter had forgotten. Mike called her, and she was able to open the entry remotely. No problem for Mike. By the time she had returned, Mike had begun the work to recess a refrigerator water line valve and was off shopping for additional parts. He completed the work efficiently and left me without the need to follow-up with drywall patching. We had a water main leak in our front yard next to the garage. Water was everywhere and was flooding our planters and the area next to the garage. Jake came out and assessed the situation and began digging to find the connection from the main city water line to our house. It was deep down and under some concrete overpour from when the house was built. It took a while but he finally reached it and discovered that the connection had sheared. He was able to repair it in such a way that if future problems occur it will be much easier to access. He was very professional and honest about what had to be done. The price was very fair. I'd forgotten to mention in my last update, what the resolve was for the plumbing issue originally described in my first review. The methodical troubleshooting process that Chris suggested paid off. Eventually, the source of the leak revealed itself to be the toilet (and not the shower wall). Confident in the source, we took care of some tile work and then had Chris come back once the toilet was ready to be reinstalled. Chris pointed out that the toilet (installation by the previous owners) neglected to use a wax ring of sufficient thickness. He showed me how the new seal he was installing was thick enough to compress and actually seal. In my experience, Die Hard Plumbing wants their customers to be informed so that they understand why they are doing the job a particular way. It's actually a matter of pride: 'do the job right, or not at all.' It's why I'm happy to share my experience as finding trustworthy companies to do important work can be difficult. I want to give a special shout out to "Mike"! He took a look at the leak and told us about where the leak was without even digging first. He said I was losing 1.8 gallons of water per minute!
