Last evening I made a temporary Mickey Mouse repair to hold me over for the night. Take my advice and hire this company. They're licensed and insured. Attempting to fix fire system pvc can be a tremendous liability on yourself or a plumber that's not properly licensed and insured. It's a costly mistake to attempt this repair on your own or with a plumber that doesn't have proper qualifications. When all was said and done, this repair took approximately and hour or more. Sterling drained the whole system and used a shopvac to remove approximately 5-10 gallons of residual water sitting in a trap somewhere below. It's essential that the contractor dries out the water so that the glue has time to set and cure for 24 hours. This was a good learning experience for myself because I'm an hvac contractor and I deal with some domestic pvc plumbing (low pressure hvac condensation). I'm glad I didn't attempt the repair myself because if I would have flooded my house a few weeks down the line, my wife wouldn't have been happy. 5 stars for service 5 stars for repair 5 stars for pricing

My alarm system, which I had since 2000, used to be Takahashi Systems. I was so saddened when they were bought out by a different company named Valley Alarm. I used to talk to the actual owner when I called for help. Through the years Mirna became a comfortable voice to hear on the other end of the line. I knew I would never have that kind of experience with the new company. Although I was disappointed that there was no incentive to stay with a loyalty offer when I called to upgrade my system (going from $60.00 a quarter to $120.00), I reluctantly stayed because the equipment I had could still be used (ultimately less of a hassle). I say all of this to let you know that I was not thrilled to continue with this new "impersonal company." I came into this experience like the crabby Aunt that sits at the Thanksgiving table determined not to have a good time. So far, I have been pleasantly surprised. Ernie talked me through the contract experience, and it doesn't sound like I am locked in for life (and beyond) like my phone company has mentioned several times. He honored the original quote after three months when life got rocky with the pandemic. But what cinched it was today when the upgraded system was installed by Rick. Rick was on time and ready to work; he didn't act like it was a burden. We walked through the house, and he was 100% engaged. He gave me tips about how to use the system as he worked to install the new parts--and saved me some money when some of the original parts were still in great shape. Rick seemed to have all the time in the world. I was so confident and comfortable with him that I actually left him alone at my house so I could run a few errands that had to be done before the weekend. He even called later in the day to clarify one of the features of the new system. Who does that nowadays? I also want to give shout outs to Jacob (who initially came out when the system started acting up) and Melissa who was the calm friendly voice when I called the office. All in all, I am beyond impressed with Valley Alarm. I guess I will stay longer at the table and have some more pie. read more

I have been a customer of Valley Alarm for more than twenty (20) years. I have always had excellent service from Valley Alarm, but this time, when my alarm system gave me an error code that indicated a problem, the phone techs at Valley Alarm were very helpful and answered all my (sometimes stupid) questions. But the problem (a dying backup battery) could be fixed only in two ways: Valley Alarm would send me a new battery and I could install it myself, or Valley Alarm would send a technician to replace it. I chose not to do it myself. Today the tech repair person, Russell, came to my house to fix the problem ... diagnosed by phone as a dying backup battery. He was right on time. After Russell changed out the old battery with a new one, the system still gave me a problem error code. Then Russell proceeded without any hesitation to find out what was wrong ... and in about two minutes figured out that the batteries in my wireless sensors also needed replacing. So Russell changed those out as well. Russell was very patient, very capable and fixed everything that was bad in less than 20 minutes. Russell also explained everything he was doing as he went along. He could not have been more helpful...and he was certainly VERY knowledgeable about my old system. I wanted to take this time to update my review. I have done my home work and compared my current Alarm company (Valley Alarm) vs ADT and others. I only did this because I had a old system and I needed to upgrade. I never had a problem with Valley Alarm for 12 years. I had one incident when the police responded and I was contacted by phone by the Alarm company. The police responded very quick. The police response time probably has to do with the local Police department and their responses to burglar alarms and not the Alarm company taking their time contacting the police, Valley Alarm was honest about the equipment that was needed for the upgrade and the price. No BAIT AND SWITCH here. Omar Ayass who is the office manager assisted personally with any of my questions and concerns. I had senior technician Ormel Garcia come for the install who was very knowledgeable and professional. He also was open to any of my concerns that I had to having a newer system that had additional options that my old system did not have. I have a family member who has been having health problems and Ormel suggested a remote that could be used to activate the Alarm if necessary. Thank you Ormel for giving me some piece of mind. Valley Alarm saved me from the nightmare of lies and destroyed property from ADT. They kept changing the price but never told me it would be $9000.00 for crappy equipment you can get at your local Walmart, those magnet things with double sided tape and unneeded items which as a whole didn't add up to $9000.00 dollars. They told me what I was going to get but none of that ever showed up. So I said NO to the $9000.00 and said I want the price I was quoted $2000.00 in free credit and thats it. The next day I saw the damage and the stupid magnets and was disgusted and called to cancel everything then a new nightmare began! VALLEY ALARM which everyone has around here where I live came to the RESCUE by it's Senior Account Manager when they heard my story. He came to my home and saw the damage and was shocked. He said no problem and it was installed at less than half the price and the same monthly payments and its cellular. I love it. My dad was client of valley alarm for years.Trying to cut cost he decided to go to a different company that offered better deals in term of equipment. When he called valley alarm to cancel the service he was told a sales agent was going to visit him to provide a better quote. When valley alarm sales person came to his office offered to provide the same deal as the other company with no contract. Recently he decided to close his business and call to cancel the service to find out he was in a 3 years contract he never agreed to and was charge an excessively high cancelation fee. Since he already had a bad experience when he called to make the payment he ask for representative information, the first one hangup the phone, the second one took payment but refused to identify herself. He is just hopping he wasn't scam by valley alarm once again.Please be aware of this company malpractices. My dad had to pay for this unethical charge because he don't want to damage his impeccable credit. Is incredible how companies like this take advantage of consumers in this country and is nobody to stop them. read more

I made a service call to Valley Alarm for an incessant beep from my alarm system which happened to be a battery issue. The customer service rep. was professional and made sure my need was attended to. I am clueless on what to do even if they sent me the battery of I had to go and get it myself. She offered to walk me through but I am one of those who is somewhat behind with things like that and would not want to mess things up. She asked if I'd like to have a technician sent out at some cost, but because i had been with the company for years, including those with a previous provider, the cost was waived. The appointment and follow up calls for a same-day service were greatly appreciated. The service technician, Rick was wonderful. It's great to have a technician who knows exactly what he's doing and goes beyond the main issue to take care of related panels around the house. We have been customers of Valley Alarm since 1994, then recently the alarm and key pads began to randomly malfunction. Since the system worked great for 26 years, it wasn't surprising to have a few problems. Reluctantly I scheduled a service call and asked for an estimate of what was needed and what it would cost. I was expecting it to be a very expensive and time consuming process. I was so wrong. Within a week the system was upgraded, and it was no easy task for them to fit me in the schedule and upgrade a system that was so out of date. Omar, the manager of the location was so helpful, Ernie in customer service wen5 out of his way to keep the costs down an$ th3 technicians are very knowledgeable. The Salesman who helped me, Mike Abu-Jaber, was extremely thorough and patient with my many questions and concerns. This helped me feel confident going forward with the Company and the equipment. The outdoor cameras on my home record great images when there is motion, making me feel at ease and not leaving me to look through hours/days of footage. The indoor security system helps me to feel my home is protected when I am away, as well as asleep. Manny is my technician and on his first visit he had several repairs to make and came back again to make additional repairs last week. He suggested upgrades to my older system, but never pressured me into buying anything. I have had Valley Alarm as my alarm service provider for 15 years. They have provided excellent service along with peace of mind that my home is being carefully monitored each and every day. It is also extremely pleasing that I no longer have to deal with the false alarms that plagued me for years with a former provider, who seemed to have little to no interest in supporting their residential customers, or fixing the problems they created with an expensive by shoddy alarm install. We had our first home alarm installed recently and I love it! We spoke with Ed and he sent Rod to share information and discuss our needs and concerns. Rod answered all of our questions! Installation occurred shortly after and I was very impressed with how swift and clean the process was. Our installer put protective covers on his shoes and didn't mind my young children playing with racecars all over the place. Our installer walked me through the functions of the alarm and made sure that I downloaded the app correctly to my phone. We have been using Valley Alarm for years. Recently we needed to update our system and Jeff Bernstein came to the rescue. He has been a breath of fresh air! Continually bending over backwards to get our system upgraded and in top working order. Our building is quite old - with original systems, so we have hit several roadblocks along the way. Jeff has always found a way to tunnel through or around them. Michelle Rodriquez has also been very helpful in following up to be sure the process is running smoothly. Valley Alarm is great. Overall very happy with them. They acquired my previous alarm company (Vant) and have been very professional and responsive since the transition. Would recommend their personal level of service over national brands. For example, any time our alarm has been unexpectedly set off or tripped, they call within 30 seconds for a status update. Customer Service Reps are very friendly and professional. Lastly, Technical Support was excellent as well. Had problem with checking faulty system connections, etc. and rep was able to provide temporary bypass fix over the phone before tech could do regular service appointment. I just recently purchased my first home and needed some alarm services. My parents have each used Valley Alarm i their homes and never experienced any issues so I used them as well. I spoke to Jeremy Eddington at their office and he was out to the location the next day. After a walk-through with him, we figured out what we would like and need. Scheduled a time for the install and we were set. Unfortunately construction delays required them to come back a second time but that was no issue. We even had to reschedule a second time. Our company - a warehouse in Sylmar, has used Valley Alarm for two years and I have to say their customer service is top-notch. I can say that immediately you feel safe in his presence and it's very clear he cares about ensuring people are safe and FEEL safe in their homes. He is a former cop and it shows. He is someone with the experience and instincts to really understand safety and that was very apparent in our conversations. He's not a salesman - he's a security expert who knows what you need and is honest and direct. He didn't try to upsell me on excessive unnecessary items like other companies. He asked about my goals and truly sought to understand exactly what I wanted before giving his suggestions. I asked tons of questions which he answered thoroughly and patiently. The best part about the experience was he could instantly tell I was shaken up from a previous incident and was so compassionate while still being direct. He talked to me about how to keep myself safe in case of another break-in given the layout of the new house and improve overall house safety in other ways. He even noticed the doors weren't installed correctly and missing tiny parts that make a door super easy to kick in. You don't always get more bang for your buck and it's definitely much more expensive than a DIY Google Nest self install, but I will sleep better at night knowing I got the true expert advice I needed to keep myself and my home safe. Due to the permitting system in the area and the issues with the owner of the house I lease there may be issues with getting one feature but I am going very out of my way to find a way to get what he thinks I need. So glad I made that last call to APS.

Post Alarm is very good at a few things: billing, raising their rates, and selling customers…read moreadditional products and services. Unfortunately, in my experience, they are considerably less effective at the thing that actually matters--properly handling an alarm activation. I have been a Post Alarm customer for many years, and I have repeatedly provided clear instructions about what should happen when an alarm is triggered. Yet when an actual activation occurs, those instructions do not seem to be followed in any consistent or logical way. They are also remarkably persistent about calling repeatedly in the middle of the night--even when they have specifically been instructed not to do so--sometimes apparently for no reason other than to "clear" something from their system. Getting call after call after call in the middle of the night without an actual emergency is not security; it is enormously disruptive. What has been most frustrating is the lack of accountability when these problems occur. There seems to be plenty of infrastructure devoted to billing, rate increases, and selling new services, but far less attention paid to making sure the monitoring service itself operates according to the customer's instructions. After many years as a customer, I find this extremely disappointing. A security company should inspire confidence when an alarm goes off. Instead, my experiences with actual alarm activations have too often been confusing, frustrating, and inconsistent with the instructions I have clearly provided.
