This spot came up over and over in my search for the best pierogi in Kraków, so I had to give it a try. Honestly, I left a little underwhelmed. It's a small shop with a decent-sized menu, though I wish there were more flavor options. I also considered Mr. Vincent, which seemed to have a bit more variety. I ordered the cottage cheese and spinach pierogi. I like that everything's made to order -- they boil them fresh after you order, and mine were ready in about seven minutes. You can choose butter or onions on top (the onions seem to be cooked in a buttery sauce anyway), and I went with the onions. Each order comes with nine pierogi -- they're small and snackable, so it's a good portion for one person. The cottage cheese and spinach combo was nice; I expected more of a spanakopita vibe, but it was different. Flavor-wise, it was fine -- not bad at all, just not something I'd rave about. The price is definitely a plus, though: my meal with a soda came to around $10 USD. Service was the one real downside. It might've been a language barrier, but when I asked for my order to go, they plated it first and seemed annoyed about repacking it. Maybe I should try pierogi at other places in town before writing this, but honestly, this was one of the worst meals I've had in some time. I ordered the savory mix (10 pieces for around 7 euro), and none of the six (or seven?) varieties I got was enjoyable. Some of the fillings were too salty, all of the pierogi tasty doughy and undercooked, and the fried onions on top were oily and overpowering. It's possible that pierogi are simply not my thing, though I actually doubt it, since I generally like all dumplings. Anyway, I'll try my luck elsewhere (and will ask for the onions on the side, to be safe). Food aside, service was fine. Simple but tasty! First time trying Polish Pierogis. We ordered the pork ones, and you can choose a butter or onion topping. You get a plate full for under $10, and they are filled with meat. This is the old town location. You can get them to go and sit in the park close by, or enjoy people watching while sitting outside the store. This branch is a bit out of the main roads but worth stopping by if in the area craving for pierogis. I had the savory mix in another branch that I really liked therefore I stopped here to try the sweet mix. It was pretty interesting and a good and cheap afternoon sweet snack. There are a couple of seats inside but otherwise the main spots are 2/3 larger tables outside. I saw many people just doing take-away here. read more

This place was recommended to me by an expat American who's lived in Krakow for about 10 years, and she was spot on. It's pretty good for what it is: basically a take-away shop with a few stools inside and a couple of tables on the sidewalk outside. The Pierogi Ruskie (or these days Pierogie Ukraine) were tasty, though I prefer mine crisped up in a little butter. And the price was quite reasonable at 18.30 złoty for nine pieces. The golabki was huge (4.90 PLN) but honestly, a little bland. A little salt helped, though I think Vegetta in the filling would be even better. Though prices for the food are very good, the bottled water is a little pricey compared to your local convenience store. Other beverages are pretty reasonable. read more

I went on an AirBnb Food tour and the guide Camille brought us here and shared the story of pierogis! These were the best Polish dumplings I've had since I have been here! They were really soft and the filling was excellent. Additionally, the skin was very soft you only needed a fork to cut the dumplings. I tried the spinach pierogis; mushroom; cheese, and a cinnamon flavor. If you're in Poland this is a must have! read more

Best thing I've had in all of Poland. Seriously guys, homemade pieroges absolutely delicious. Lots of melted butter and flavor that pops inside. I've now had pieroges in two fine expensive restaurants here in Poland and these blew them both away. My only regret is that they were out of Apple pie. I had the potato and bacon and the spinach and cheese not a single complaint about either. Only warning, this place is tiny cramped seating for 6 people maybe 7. Dress warmly if it's cold and be ready to sit outside or take away. Even if you don't get a seat you'll love the food and the smile of your belly with warm your spirit. read more

I'd read many reviews about this, most of them describing it as a hole in the wall spot. That is definitely the best way to describe it. Despite it being located on a side street it seems to get a lot of visitors (locals and tourists) - and this place is tinyyy. Maybe 6 people max could dine in at once, luckily most people placed to-go orders. You'll pay less than 10zl for a plate of pierogi - they have a lot of options to choose from (not only pierogi). The place: It is small and cute (yet sometimes frustrating because there's no room) Don't worry when it's warm innoff they have a small table just in front, were you can meet polish people as well as foodies travelers. Plus Bonerowska street nice, and it's not far from Hala tar goes station. The food: Boiled pierogis are well prepared, tasty and they don't cost much. We love their Borsch, you must try them. Even though this place is just a hole in the wall a few blocks outside of Old Town Krakow, they serve the best pierogi! You can get a mix-and-match plate of ten pierogis for only 12 złoty. I especially liked the potato and cheese pierogi, and the pierogi Ruskie. I'll definitely be back to eat here again when I return to Krakow. read more

Excellent pierogi! It's almost literally a hole in the wall place, a tiny shop on a corner in a residential neighborhood. There's a only a few places you can sit at a counter inside, plus a few small tables outside. The interior gets crowded with only a few people in line. But you don't come here for linen tablecloths and candlelight, you come here for the pierogi, and there they shine. After extensively researching the best restaurant to get pierogis from in Krakow, I decided to add this place to my list. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that Przystanek Pierogarnia was within 10 minutes Walking Distance of our hotel! Situated in a charming neighborhood not too far from the Main Square, this restaurant is conveniently located on a corner on a quiet street. Be forewarned that the restaurant is small (it is essentially a counter restaurant, but with a counter seating area and one or two tables outside). Luckily, during both of my visits I did not have an issue getting seating but customers did pop in and out frequently. I am a vegetarian and ordered the Wegańskie, which contains lentils and carrots, both times which were hearty and cooked to perfection. While I did not enjoy solely due to personal preference but thought was a unique experience nonetheless, the "Cherries" pierogis and the Beet Root soup consisted of generous portion sizes and were fresh. The Polish Handmade Fruit Juice, otherwise known as "Kompot", pairs perfectly with pierogis. The restaurant is definitely a spot for locals but the employees do speak decent English. This restaurant, along with its food and its atmosphere, was a highlight of our trip to Poland which also included cities Warsaw and Gdansk! read more

The reviews don't lie and I'm so glad I got to visit this little place! When I say little, I mean little. It's definitely not a place to go and dine in at with a large group of people. The owner (at least that's who I think he is) is very friendly and the food... the pierogis were cheap, delicious, and amazing... just go! My personal favourites were the veggie & lentil and cottage cheese & cinnamon. My daughter and I are foodies. This was our first meal when we arrived to Krakow. I had the salmon and my daughter had the golabki. We both love polish food, but this was not worth the money we paid for it. I know this is a tourist area, but really? We had better tasting polish food in Chicago for 1/3 the price. At the end we had an apple tort, and with the abundance of apples here in Poland there was more crust than apples. If you want to pay ambiance this is the place but food is not worth it!
