The decor intrigued me, and immediately gravitated to the collection of semi-precious stones, unique t-shirts and the warm ambiance. I was greeted upon entry by Raven, the sales clerk and Dr. Shanique, the owner. Raven assisted with my many inquiries as Dr. Shanique escorted other patrons up the winding staircase. I settled on bracelets for my daughter and myself from the vast array of semi precious stones. Garnet for my January baby and aventurine and chakra colored stones for me. Yes, I deserved two bracelets. Smile. Chose aventurine due to it being known to boost creativity and can use all the help I can get with writing! Chakra stone bracelet selected for its numerous properties including clearing, revitalizing and healing. Raven wrapped each item and placed in a logoed bag. After the patrons descended from the upper level and had photos taken at decorative wall with signage, I inquired about the services offered. Learned more about oracle card readings and reiki offered, and was invited to view upper level where these services took place. As I ascended the spiral staircase, I saw several photographs on the wall and other beautiful decorations. Dr. Shanique shared her background with me, and stated that the photos were of ancestors. There were many photos of warm smiles and others more serious that spanned decades. As a little background information, the first visit was in October of this year shortly after I'm S.H.E. opened. Fast forward to the week before Thanksgiving, when once again craving neighboring vendor I noticed the door of I'm S.H.E. open. The owner was there and despite it being close to closing Dr.Shanique greeted me with the same great energy experienced during initial meeting. I shared how much my Capricorn loved her bracelet and promised to bring her to shop soon. I also observed packets with healing items including elderberry seeds and bladder wrack (sp.?). There were more selections, but those were the ones I purchased as I had been looking for bladder wrack for a while. There were also items to assist with healthy weight loss that are now on my future visit list. I definitely fell in love again with I'm S.H.E. Looking forward to my next visit to this EAV jewel!!!

For starters, you don't have to feel convicted for going if you're a Christian. I'm a Christian, I went and I'm just fine. I feel like I had to say that because so many people get twisted in condemning practices and it's not that serious. Dr. Shanique does a great job respecting your religion and making sure to give you a say in the session without forcing metaphysics down your throat. She was very personable, honest, patient, and knowledgable. She answered any questions I had as well as made sure I was comfortable before moving through our session. We started with the card reading and this was nothing major, just a few cards to give you some guidance on moving forward and handling upcoming life events. I personally would say the cards were super general and could easily apply to anyone living life so again, you don't have to feel like you're about to be told that you're dying tomorrow lol. Next we moved to the reiki session. This was basically a soothing meditation experience and I just about feel asleep because her voice was so soothing and I enjoyed the music played in tandem with her guiding me through the meditation. Afterwards I loved that we got together to discuss my experience as well as to create a mediation plan to use moving forward. She provides you with materials to help keep you on track with your plan and of course recommends a follow up 4-6 weeks post visit. All in all, I would say "try it before you knock it". So here I am, re-posting one, which in itself should help you understand how important this is. Let me try to recall what I had previously written: Having been to many therapists - some when I didn't really want the help and some after I decided I wanted to get healthy. What I've come to realize is that Jill is the absolute best therapist, but ONLY if you are ready to get help. If you don't want to get help and if you plan on lying through your sessions, you won't like her. What I mean by that is she's not dumb and you're not fooling her, even if you think you are. And if you're trying, it's just a waste of money. I'm not saying this from experience. In fact, when I had Jill as an individual therapist as well as group therapist, I was more than ready to be in a better place. I know this because even in my willing mind, it was challenging. I find myself to be pretty well connected to my emotions, how I'm feeling and why, my upbringing, relationships, etc etc..and even still, Jill was able to make so many connections that I hadn't. I felt I knew the ins and outs of how therapy works, and I addressed that with Jill. I questioned what she was thinking about what I was saying and talked about myself as an individual vs myself as a patient. I was able to bring up the topic of therapy as well as all of the issues that brought me there in the first place. Jill's office became a place where no subject was off limits. I know it seems like that is what therapy should be, but very rarely have I felt comfortable enough with a therapist to really open up. As much as I may have made it seem like she's tough, she's also one of the nicest people I've ever met, especially in her industry. I have been in a healthy relationship for 3 years and just got engaged. I have thru-hiked the entire Appalachian Trail last year, and am currently writing this review from the Pacific Crest Trail. I am strong enough to physically, mentally, and emotionally be able to participate in the lifestyle that I love, alongside a person I love - two things I would have never been able to do had it not been for Jill. If you are living in Atlanta or in the surrounding area, know that there is a fantastic therapist that is very missed in New York and who is sure to change lives wherever she goes..
