I wish there were some way I could get my first 5 star review taken off…read more Read Denise W's review. It is spot on. I must say that Dr. Quigley's nurse is wonderful. That is not true of most of the other staff. Again I refer you to the aforementioned review. There is no sense in reiterating what has already been stated. In my previous review I stated that in this current environment of opiate madness I was impressed that he prescribed an opiate @ all. What I failed to consider was that the strength of the opiate & the number he gave me were actually less than my first neurologist prescribed for me back in the 1980's when the only thing that they realized was wrong was a herniated disk. I have since been diagnosed with so many chronic illnesses that I was being prescribed time released morphine daily & hydrocodone as needed. My neurologist, having gotten inundated with so much paperwork regarding his patients with chronic pain issues for whom he was prescribing opiates he referred us to pain management doctors. At that time my new doctor, having reviewed my films etc, changed my medications to fentanyl daily and dilaudid as needed. Needless to say or write the opiate crisis took care of that. The combination of medications above had alleviated my pain most of the time. For the first time in years I had more pain free days than days where the pain ruled my life. In fact that combination actually was so effective that even on the days that the pain showed up it wasn't so bad that it ruled my life. I live in a retirement community & I talk to folks in wheelchairs & those using walkers that say that b4 all of these doctors became terrified of prescribing any opioid medication they didn't need those wheelchairs/walkers. It is my understanding that the "opiate crisis " is as bad as it ever was. If one looks @ the number of deaths & close calls requiring hospitalization, then, yes if anything, it's getting worse. Before it got to the point that doctors are too scared to prescribe certain medicationsiii
