It detours to drop some runners off at Edison HS, which basically adds 10min to the bus ride. . Had I known, I'd prob have sought nearer parking for the SCM and just bike the rest of the way. . Somewhat peaceful ambience, albeit loud neighborhood.

I was here in Long Beach watching the news and getting ready for school when I watched as the second plane hit the 2nd tower. That memory has been with me since. While on a weekend trip to san diego we visited the air and space museum and were surprised to see a cruiser on display that was actually at ground zero! When I got back I thought to myself "I wonder if there's other artifacts that I can see around town". A quick search showed that there were pieces of steel from the towers here. So on 9/11 of last year, we drove out here to see the memorial and have a moment of silence for the victims. The memorial is located at the bottom of the staircase in a pentagon shaped base and honors all lost in the towers, flights as well as first responders. In the center stands a steel beam that was part of WTC donated by NYC Fire and Police. It's quite surreal seeing an object from that dark day in history.

Order at the front first and then find a seat anywhere for them to bring the food to you. We chose to find a seat upstairs to overlook the ocean and beach view. We were looking forward to uni in the whole urchin shell but the guy said they took that off the menu and only serve it in pieces now. Lobster roll (in warm butter) with uni was good, though was a bit smaller than expected and the bread was super oily. Oysters and the fried seafood platter was decent too! It was a lot of fries in the platter. They also had cocktails and drinks available, I ordered the shark bite which was yummy.

The lobster itself was dry, and the bread didn't taste buttered it was dry as well. One of my friends ordered a regular lobster sandwich, and I got the one with extra lobster. Both sandwiches looked exactly the same, with no real difference, which was frustrating since I paid an extra $15 for it. The uni itself was good, but the lobster underneath was still dry. On the positive side, the fish and chips were pretty good the batter was light and crunchy, and the tartar sauce had a nice flavor. The staff was friendly and nice relaxing ambiance good view .
