My son is a senior, and with Lisa's guidance, achieved a 1530 on the SAT, missing only one math question-no superscore, just one test. Thus far, he has not been turned down by any of the top-tier engineering programs to which he has applied. My younger child is now working diligently with Lisa to maximize his SAT scores as he prepares for college applications in the fall. What makes this all the more impressive is the fact that both my children have dyslexia and dysgraphia-school has not come easy for them. Whether working directly with Lisa or one of her expert team members, you can expect compassion, professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to meet your child at his or level, emotionally and academically. Lisa and her team are exacting and demanding, but with an understanding that kids' anxiety levels and workloads fluctuate through the school year and need to be taken into consideration and adapted to. Working with Lisa, I felt supported as a parent, and more importantly, I knew that while my children were working hard, they too felt supported. My kids have tried preparing for standardized tests using workbooks and online/in-person group classes, but both report the one-on-one experience they have had with Lisa and her team to be the game-changer. I was waiting at a coffee shop a few doors down. I returned 20 minutes prior to the end of my kid's appointment to find my seven year old who has ADHD and other delays waiting alone in the waiting room with no adult. I sat with her for several minutes before anyone returned. When I spoke to the employee she told me it was "safe" for children to be unsupervised in their lobby. I completely disagree and I am so thankful that nothing happened to my daughter. I would not recommend this center!

I'm putting this out there to hopefully save someone else some time. I was looking for some…read moretutoring help for my daughter in AP Bio. They would give me no price info on line. You have to go in and meet with the center manager and listen to the spiel and not until the end do you get the costs. You have to buy blocks of 50 hours of tutoring at around $90/hour, which means you don't get out of there for under about $4,500.00. Of course, this is paid up front. You can pay for tutoring by the hour, but that is $105.00/hour. Under both scenarios, in that hour they can have up to three students in the tutoring session. Wow! Someone is making a lot of money. Is it the tutors? No. I looked at Glassdoor and the tutors make between $20 to $25 per hour. So, if you do the math, the center is getting up to $315/hour and paying the tutor $25? Caching! Obviously, we didn't sign on, so this is not an entirely fair review. That's why they get a 3. Because they wasted an hour of my time. Maybe their services are really worth that much. I'll never know.

However, I signed up for the 8-week SAT summer program, and it was a different experience. Although the program motivated me to have some structure during the summer, there were several days when class time was not productive. For anyone who is thinking of taking classes here, I highly recommend taking a trial class for one-on-one tutoring and then deciding if it is a good fit.

Kids grow based on how home works goes. At BC, kids work with an instructor who explains the week's assignment and helps them answer sample questions. BC does not expect any parent involvement. Each week Kids take quick test before taking new work. Overall less stress on kids and parents. Overall progress kid is good but feel slow. It could be different for each kid.
