I attended the teen driving sessions for a month, and I'd say it was a good use of my 400$. Sherry O's a hating troll who's looking for someone to hook up with, that's why she's so mad. Mr. Wong is really patient, professional, has a great sense of humor, great teacher, and gives great advice. The classes to me were totally worth it. I was scared to drive the first time and he reassured me multiple times that everything was going to be okay. After the first lesson I wasn't scared anymore. His practice tests helped me prep for the actual driving test. Whenever I drove and someone called him for lessons, even if they were from Bellevue or Mercer Island, Renton, etc he always said he'll drive out there just to teach 'em how to drive and that's a real nice thing to do. Because if I were a driving instructor I'd tell them to get their butt over to me. Overall, I would recommend that newer driver's take the classes! Super worth. read more

It was terrible experience for me. If you dont pay 280 $ you cant pass the driving test. Everytime they want to money money money. When you are solving the questions while on test, the woman who is responsible your test, talking loudly each other,no respect you, your exam. The teacher who is responsible your skill test , you cant understand him never. I couldn't understand to him what talking about. And he slurping his mouth while drinking coffee when you are at test. I took my driving test here and had a great experience! Cheung Lee was my examiner and he was very polite, professional, and HELPFUL. While taking my test, he was willingly giving me tips and advice on how to improve as a driver. I'm a person who never went to drivers ed or had driving lessons, so I learned from him even though it was a test. In no way did he come off as critical, just very helpful. I would definitely recommend to take your driving test here. read more

Very expensive with the worst attitude,I wanna give negative star if Yelp has it. I came here for the road test, they told me there is a $235 package which include some practice or just $90 road test. Then I took the $90 because I have lots of driving experience. But they will give you a hard time if you choose 90, like I definitely stopped in front of the stop side, they said you did not. Then I asked why, their attitudes turned extremely bad. Then they keeps ask me to pay more for the $235 package. Overall this is the worst place. If you do not pay the expensive one, they will try anything to fail you. read more

Worst place ever, they will fail you on purpose in order to let you take some kind of package which cost more than $200, if you choose that package, they will treat you very nicely, but if you just take road test, the attitude will change. Mr. Wong knows the drive test like the back of his hand. The website strangely says $60 for the drive test, but it has since been bumped to $90. I took a single adult training lesson for $99 and then a $90 drive test after. Mr. Wong was very professional. He told me exactly how he'd test and he was very calm and patient as I was practicing and testing. He gave me tips on using various points of reference to gauge my distance from the sidewalk. He made sure I was comfortable with his car and all aspects of the test were conducted in real-life scenarios (paralleling behind real cars, backing around real sidewalks, changing lanes in streets that actually had lines). The quality of drivers' tests went downhill, when they were outsourced to private entities, but give HKDS a shot and you won't be disappointed. It's also very easy to reach them and schedule a time. I had a great experience with Mr. Wong. He was patient and gave great advice. He was also very accommodating and set-up a refresher course on Christmas eve on a day's notice. He picked me up at home, took me to a low traffic area and had me go through the basics. I ended up taking my driving test through Mr. Wong and it was a quick, no fuss affair. I had a very good experience at this location. I walked in for my knowledge test and there was only one more person present, so it was nice to take my test in quiet. I then scheduled a skills test with a one hour practice before hand. Even though it was not inexpensive, i definitely found it helpful. I learned a lot of new tips and knew exactly what to expect when I would be tested. Mr. Wong explained things very clearly and even used diagrams to let me know what he meant. I had an awesome experience. Mr Lee at the Hong Kong Driving School in Seattle is very patient and extremely helpful in explaining all the safety rules of driving. Besides teaching the basic concepts, he also gives a ton of suggestions on forming the right driving habits. I also took the test at this school, they were very professional and explain in detail all the points taken after the test. I highly recommend the school to any beginner. read more

UNBELIEVABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE!! I came here to take the knowledge test. The guy asked me if I had "the confirmation ID" or something like that. I said no so that guy said there would be a $20 fee for taking that number. At first, I thought he would make call or register by phone or something like that to take the number for me. Just couldn't believe with my own eyes!! He went to dol.gov.wa and asked me to sign up the account up there. This work I could even do it at home! For free of course! A lesson for all of you will come here to take the knowledge test, just sign up an account at home first. Or you will be charge for total $40 ($20 testing fee & $20 "computer and internet" for you to register online by yourself!) I was preparing to get my first driver's license. First, I attended a driving school in Bellevue and paid $425 for 5 lessons. After 5 lessons, I wasn't happy with the school because they were way too slow. So I decided to try Hong Kong Driving School. I called and scheduled for 1 lesson with Sam Wong. He drove all the way from Seattle to Bellevue to teach me. In this 1 lesson, I was surprised that I could actually learn so much from him in a 90 minute class, way more than from my last driving school. So I bought a 5 lesson package for $450. During these classes, he taught me how to drive on roads, explained the driving test to me, and mocked the whole test several times with me. He taught me everything I needed to know, but didn't waste my time at all. Before my driving test, I scheduled 2 more lessons with Sam to review my driving skills and to mock the driving test. I found these 2 lessons very useful. I felt more confident in my driving test and passed it. I will definitely recommend Sam Wong to my friends. read more

Sam and Joanne Wong run this longstanding establishment from a house conveniently located at Beacon and Columbian Way, an easy run on the 36 bus from Beacon Hill light rail station. Joanne works the desk while Sam does the road tests, and one senses that after all these years they're still very much in love in a way that only a time-tested couple can be. Their warm and supportive approach to clients is evident from the moment you walk in the door. Sam is an honest road tester, neither unduly harsh nor unduly lax, he will let you know where and how you must improve in a supportive manner with an eye towards your and others' safety as well as your certification. You will leave first feeling that you have known them all your life, and then wishing that you had. I can't wish more Sams and Joannes into the world, but I can strongly and unequivocally recommend Hong Kong Driving School to students of any age and at any stage in the process.
