Absolutely unacceptable. I've been renting this unit for months and still don't have a working light. Despite multiple requests, management's response has basically been that I "don't need one" and should just move my things in and out in the dark until I move out. I was even told that not being able to see inside the unit isn't a safety issue. This isn't an open garage--my unit is enclosed, with almost no natural or hallway light reaching inside. It's functionally unusable once the door is closed. I've had to rely on flashlights just to see, and have even dragged my belongings out into the hallway under the dim overhead light just to open boxes and find what I need. That's not reasonable for a paid storage unit. I've made repeated attempts to resolve this and have been ignored or dismissed every time. Meanwhile, they're trying to increase my rent by a third--without fixing a basic, essential issue. Charging more while providing less is bad business. I'm already looking elsewhere and would strongly recommend others do the same. read more

I only rented a storage unit at this location for one month and it was the worst experience ever. First, there is rarely someone working at the office and when I leave messages, they don't respond. The facility itself is falling apart and on two occasions the gate would not open wide enough to drive through. But the most frustrating thing is the lack of carts! They are impossible to find, there isn't a designated area for people to return them and it forced me to carry all of my contents in my 5x10 unit by hand. My final complaint is about the irresponsible manner in which renters park their vehicles, making it almost impossible to get by. I've even had to back up my truck in reverse just to get out because someone was being inconsiderate. Just a terrible experience all around. read more

This is the worst company in the world, complete incompetence, Lazy workers, poor upkeep and 0 communication. I have been trying to cancel my unit for over 4 months now having to pay each month of an EMPTY UNIT because no one is in office (during posted business hours) and they refuse to answer the phone. Complete negligence and now I have a bill sent to collections due to their poor customer service. I would never recommend this place not even to my worst enemy. ok, so here we go..... first off, the staff here are absolutely the most lazy group of humans i have come across, mind you i have been completely around this earth 5 & 3/4 times, been to 53 different countries,13 third world countries. so this past weekend after paying months & months in advance on my way to damn expensive rent, i went to my unit just to find a extra stupid little blue lock on my unit door, so i went to the office and asked why they had there lock on my door, i was told that i was being kicked out, terminated from my contract due to loitering, so apparently if you spend more then 45 mins in your unit they are allowed to kick you out, and terminated your contract, sense when is there a time limit on how long you spend reorganizing, moving in and out, as long as your off property by the time they close there should be no issues.... i'm now going to get my lawyers up at the jag office on the v.a campus to look into a discrimination case, when i asked the office guy about it he said that he knows nothing about it and is unable to do anything or tell me anything about it, ? also he told us that we have 1 day to move our things out, mind you that i'm a disabled combat veteran and my house recently caught fire hense the storage unit, did i mention that we also have no vehicle or way to move the entire unit in a day.. so if you ask me about the professional manor of the staff or the all around b.s they put their renters through, i would definitely say (. do not rent from here stay the hell away from this property, they raised the unit price overnight by $45 dollar more a month, they treat people like $#it, they are disrespectful and all around trash humans, ) ooooh did i mention they have zero trash cans, and you will get yelled at, probably fined and kicked out for trying to through any trash in the staff's huge roll away dumpster..... so please do yourself a huge favor and.. stay the hell away....!!¡!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! retired staff sergeant... u.s army, infantry cocaine j perry read more

Literally the worst storage unit on the planet. No one works at the front desk and closing your account is impossible. They owe me about $170 and it's been two months since I vacated my unit. Customer service is nice, but no one knows what exactly is going on and they keep giving wrong information. After two months, I called them AGAIN (after calling multiple times for the past two months) and they finally informed me that a check has been approved (after TWO MONTHS) and I won't be getting that check for another 6-8 weeks. Won't be a customer here ever again, I would rather store all of my stuff on the street. read more

Constant Rate increases after the initial signing of the contract. I should have listened to the review online before signing that line. They will not work with you even if you are a long-standing client. Getting the unit was easy. Closing my account was not. It looks like you can do it online by choosing a moveout date but that doesn't actually close your account and you get no confirmation. It mentions you could contact the property manager. They have an answering machine set up telling you to leave your number and they will call you back. They will not. And they never pick up the phone. You can't really cancel online either except, I found, by hitting the button saying you want to rent MORE units. Then you are quickly connected with a representative. Now, I think I have escaped, but if there is more to add I will certainly do so. read more

Lisa who works the front desk is super sweet and deserves a raise ! I was disappointed at how terrible the elevator is. I suppose I was comparing this to my other experiences at newer storage facilities, and my expectations were high. This is a super outdated storage unit that was prob once super awesome. they have two freight carts that are small and the elevators are soooooo janky ! the doors don't work well at all. it's not a temperature controlled storage but hey maybe you get what you pay for. super ghetto in my opinion but oh well it's right by my house so that's what matters. Public Storage is the WORST storage company I have ever dealt with. I have had several storage units in multiple states and Public Storage just bought out one of my units in Ohio. The changeover process felt like a hostile takeover. They didn't tell me they took off my autopay which had been set up for several years-17 to be exact. Then, because the payment didn't come out, they assessed me a late fee. It is impossible to get a hold of anyone in the company-EVER! The phone system just keeps looping no matter what prompt you push. When you finally get to speak to someone, they can't help you, you then have to call the site manager (that is brand new and can't help) and you have to leave a message for the district manager, who then may call back two days or more later. They are not flexible in any way and are ridiculous. The link sent to me by Public Storage when they had taken over was a spam link. The text they sent me with a link didn't work either. The phone number on the introductory email didn't even go to Public Storage. It's the biggest nightmare I've ever had to deal with and for just a storage unit. I'm glad they are not in charge of anything life or death. I would NEVER EVER recommend Public Storage to anyone, not my worst enemy. read more

Public Storage is non supportive .. during covid there was no support through that time, not even waiving fees if you couldn't pay on time.. not saying anything in life is free.. also if you are expecting a deal there is no consistency. Every 6 months they raise your rent. I went from 66 dollars a month all the way up to 92 plus the 11 dollar Insurance you have no choice to pay. The unit doesn't get bigger just the bill.. the office people we had hardly ever returned calls, they are not real friendly , and they don't prorate if you work hard to move out early. They honestly are not a good company to partner with if you are wanting to have a long term partner. they don't value their customers at all. It's more about the money !! read more

On Friday I submitted a reservation online and the lady called me very quickly to set up an appointment. I asked her to schedule it for 11:00 AM Saturday morning which she confirmed. She called me back right away to let me know that she had an appointment already at that time but could schedule me at Noon. No problem. Saturday I arrived at 11:55 AM, ready to see my storage unit. When I entered the office, the lady in the office was helping someone else, and they had just walked back to the office so I assumed they would be finished soon. When I walked in, she stopped talking and gave me a bit of an impatient look and asked if she could help me. I said, "I have an appointment at noon." She said, "well he has an appointment right now and we will be another 20 minutes or so." So I told her that will not work for me and she just said "ok". I work in customer service. I understand we all get busy, but if someone arrived late or something caused an appointment to go long, perhaps you could at least apologize and tell me why my 12:00 appointment will not be valid. She basically just told me I would have to wait 20 minutes (15 if I had arrived just on time). There is no waiting area in the office and not much room outside. So I'm just supposed to waste my time sitting in the car for no reason? I understand if I had no appointment, or again if someone would just explain why and apologize, but I don't see the point of making an appointment if I can't be helped at that time. Why would they make overlapping appointments? I was going to pay for a storage unit, but it seems they don't want a paying customer. I'm not a fan of wasted time and I don't want to sit around spending my Saturday afternoon just sitting there. I will have to search elsewhere. read more

This place and its management (or lack thereof) could not be any worse - even if they tried. Less than 3 months into my lease with them, they doubled the cost of my unit (which was the size of a closet, mind you) without any notification or correspondence and just began charging my card that amount. I called them literally 20 times over the course of the next three weeks to inquire about the increase in price and they did not return my call once or ever. The managers and/or owners seem to not only be extremely white trash, but they live on the premises and yet are rarely available before 10am (or at all). I've shown up at 8 am, 10am, afternoon, and early evening and while their cars are there, no one is in the office and they never answered their doorbell or a knock on the door of the area where they live. Also, the only contact number on file is someone's personal cell, which they NEVER answer or return calls from. On top of everything, they are still charging my card monthly for an account that I discontinued (VIA THEIR PAPERWORK) over a month ago and I had to report fraud to my bank. I've also contacted the county property manager who is supposedly in charge of this property and its managers and he never returned my call either. This place is SHADY as all get up. Run and take your money and time elsewhere. read more

I showed up to my storage unit at another location ready with my SUV full & ready to unpack, unfortunately my access code wasn't working & that locations office was closed, I drove to the Midvale location hoping I could get some help. Bailey went out of her way to help me, she called her manager, she kept in contact with me, and she was patient with me all with kindness, If it weren't for her I would probably be crying somewhere because I've already had a terrible week and I was near my breaking point. Useless customer service. I was charged for a month after I vacated the unit, and the customer support line gave the phone number for a "manager" that neither answers the call nor returns voicemails. It's been a week and still no word, so I decided to stop by in person. Twice, I arrived during their posted business hours to find the doors locked and nobody there. 9 months 10X10 unit with a monthly charge of $99, At least it was until June1st, when I went online to make a payment, it increased to $117.00. No notice, email, or even a call, and I am still waiting for a returned call from the numerous voicemails that I have left. I decided to try the1-800 number, at least they answered the phone, and the lack of customer service, and, no knowledge of my account, it became a wasted call. Reading other reviews I hear a similar patterns, online applications, and quick to reel me in with a free month rent, that I am still due. I will continue to note the many calls that I continue to make. I am on a fixed income, and will not give Public Storage a reason to confiscate my belongings, so I will continue to pay monthly rent with the added on charge, and continue to make calls and leave voicemails, and post monthly reviews on Yelp as needed. read more

I had been renting a space with these deplorable people since 2013. Auto payment, never late, good paying customer. The rates increased from 85 dollars to 135 over the course of these years somehow. So, I moved out on the first day of November, 2017. They told me that they would still charge me the ENTIRE month for just having been there one day. They don't pro-rate time at all. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! we were treated horribly by the front desk people and basically told we were screwed. I actually think I heard an evil Dr. Evil laugh as I was walking out. You may have gotten my money this time, Public Storage. Never again. You suck. read more

The customer service here is horrible honestly. I hate to use such words but we've given them many chances to prove us differently. They never return our phone calls and to them it's all about money and no satisfaction gaurentee. We had fraud on our cards so had to cancel our cards. Anybody who's experienced this knows its so hard figuring out what cards were tied to which accounts. We had thought we took care of every account tied to our cancelled cards but apparently not. We never received ONE phone call from Public to ask for an updated payment method since the card they had on file had declined for our monthly payment. The only way we found out we had an outstanding balance was when we called to cancel our subscription since we moved everything out. Then that's when they decided to bring up how they charged a $20 fee for insufficient funds. We kindly asked if they could wave it this once since we didn't know and we've always been up to date with our payments. With no hesitation they said no. Now that we have moved everything out and needed to schedule a walk through, we have left SEVERAL messages and called many times to schedule this and no response. If we hadn't of just shown up I think they would have never responded to us and yet charged us another months payment. read more
