I rented a parking space for my 2012 Toyota Tacoma at the Public Storage facility at 3673 South Redwood Road, West Valley City, Utah, on Aug. 18, 2020. One month later--one month--my wife and daughter went to this Public Storage facility to retrieve the truck and when they arrived discovered that the truck had been broken into, vandalized and had the catalytic converter and oxygen sensor cut out. My wife and daughter were deeply traumatized when they discovered the damage to our vehicle and the drug paraphernalia on the ground beside the truck. They immediately called the police, filed the appropriate report, called AAA and had the truck towed to Mark Miller Toyota for the extensive repair required to make the truck drivable again. The repair bill was $1,471, which was covered by my State Farm comprehensive insurance with the exception of my $100 deductible. I chose this facility because Public Storage is a national company with a good reputation. The information about this particular facility noted "property manager lives on site for added peace of mine." This "well-lit facility is state-of-the-art and features a sturdy electronic gate with keypad access." My vehicle didn't survive 30 days at this state of the art, well-lit facility with a property manager who lived on site. I can't undo the trauma and grief my wife and daughter experienced after discovering the abominable oversight and security at this poorly run facility. But I can request a refund of the $50.67 I was charged to have my truck vandalized by drug addicts, and the $100 I had to pay toward its repair. I have been told there is no way Public Storage will refund one cent to me. Abominable customer service. read more

The employees like Nancy are awesome but the actual business itself sucks i been a long time customer over 3 years at west valley 3600 west location and 3 or 4 years at the redwood location and they do not value that relationship at all its all about more money they raise my rent every few months rape u instead of value u . I know many places that would rather keep a good standing business relationship with there long time customers that are always on time with payments don't cause problems on property etc but no they would rather rape u for every penny they can get my unit is filled with dirt and spiders and God only knows what else and heard from another customer that people been breaking in and robbing units in back but wanna charge me more and more u should go down to keep customers not drive them to move elsewhere cheaper and secure..but like i said Nancy is always been helpful and is probably the only reason im sticking around public storage really needs to value the ones that keep u in business! Absolutely hands down the worse experience I've ever had with a storage facility... They saw and knew the valuables I had in unit ...after 3 days of moving daily into unit 4th day gate code would not work ... With no one in office I called the public storage customer service sat on hold for 30 mins... 3 months go by I am late on payment because there prices went up I received a lien notice well 2 days before it went up for auction they denied payment saying I had a 0 balance every thing was fine ... Well low and behold I lost my unit to auction...they deny anything they said ...SCANDELOUS white trash inside job done by employees....I assumed a family member who I shared unit with had paid it ... It was nice that I didn't have to have contact with people the company provided everything I need from the code to the address to the lock and key it was nice to have everything up front the lease was easy to read and understand so I only gave 4 stars because I only had the storage 1 day and I haven't really gotten a chance to experience what's it's like storing my Items there But once I am finished with the unit I'll leave another review which I am pretty sure will be 5 stars based on what I have already experienced:) read more

It has been over a week since my unit has been broken into if the employee Barbara snickering and saying "it happens" while continuing to complain about the powder sugar on her shirt wasn't bad enough the district manager Paul Espana hasn't called me back in a week despite leaving messages and the hasp being so mangled I can't even open my unit to get what's left out what a joke do not rent here unless you want junkies looking after your belongings. read more

I had a problem with my bill had been on automatic payment for over half a year and all of a suden my payment change and did not process. I called talk to a representative there told me it was an error and to contact manager. I called various times left voicemails after a week manager calls back and said there's nothing that he can do. Very poor service. read more

I am a fan of this storage facility. The only thing that kept me from hitting 5 stars, was the fact that it is incredibly hard to get a 26 foot Uhaul into the storage facility. And my "drive up" storage turned out having to be packed down the row. If I would have driven down that row where my unit is I would have hit things along the way. read more

Just rented a storage unit here so I can only evaluate the renting experiance. Sandy was very nice and knew her job very well. The grounds are clean as well as my new storage unit. The price was fair and I hope it stays at the level where it is. When rental price goes up I search for better prices. I do that with all my bills. I will update this review after my first year here. If my stuff remains safe and rental price remains the same that would be a plus for me. read more
