Sorry about the 2 stars, 6th Street Publix, but I just got tired of bringing major issues to your attention and with few exceptions have nothing happen to make things better. Today, I got a call from Miami head quarters advising me mainly of how I was mostly wrong about my complaints, since this was the best Publix around, and how Fresh Market would soon meet its demise, and that they absolutely did not have better or less expensive produce than Publix. Ahem. I routinely purchase Campari tomatoes for $2.00/lb at Fresh Market, lowest price at Publix 2.50 and seldom at that. The two avocados for $3.00 can be found at both often but Fresh Market avocados are twice the size and quality, however. The produce section at Fresh Market is spotless, and well maintained. A joy to shop at. The one at this Publix on 6th makes me sad. What is going on at this Publix that makes it so inferior to the Publix on the bay at West Ave? Lets' start with their sad produce section. Encounters with rotting, wilting and soggy herbs and greens in their "mister" section are par for the course. I have given up buying herbs or other greens in this section, and so have seemingly many others since the produce here always look yellowish. This section is always very disorganized, no one who works there seems to be interested in doing the most basic organizing there. Other typical issues in the produce department: Black and splotchy peppers, brown "white" mushrooms, dessicated garlic bulbs. :( Next up on the hall of shame: The bread/bakery section. Extremely limited selection, on sale loaves often unavailable, no fresh organic breads at all, hard to get service, when one does it is lackluster and uncaring. Also what is up with the insane placement of products at this awkwardly designed store? Bread can be found at two completely opposite ends of the store and scattered about in weird side aisles. Grated cheeses are mysteriously placed, with different brands in different locations, this disorganized way of placing things is annoying, since it makes you backtrack through the entire store to find things. Or not backtrack at all and simply refrain from buying the product as was the case for me this week.Group same items together or near each other! I like to see all my options of one product together for convenience and to make choosing easy. Another thing that happens here is that stuff often runs out, empty shelves, no availability of products that just went on sale that day. Is it that hard to plan for this, and have enough on hand? The store is never that busy as far as I can tell, the past few months there have been no lines at all at the registers on my multiple visits. Lastly I will mention the deli and cheese departments. I have on three occasions had to throw out cold cuts that were off within one day of purchase, and in once case had to spit out the sample I was given right there because it was off already in store. To their credit this did get better for the last few weeks, but on my last visit two days ago I noticed the fridge door was being left open all the time, I would not be surprised if it starts to happen again. One word here about the Deli staff. They are lovely and do a great job! One sunny spot in this cloudy review. I do not know his name, but the guy with the gold teeth is fantastic! Now about the cheeses. Terribly overpriced for mostly shrink wrapped stuff, prices are better at Whole Foods! At the deli a mediocre loaf shaped "Manchego" runs $20.00/lb and at a market two blocks down on 6th it is $12.95, same Boars Head brand. Ridiculous. Cantinpalo Chorizo is also massively overpriced at $15/lb when the going rate at any Latin market is 7/lb. I wish Publix would stop pretending they are a gourmet market and just charge a fair price for these things. I will post a nice Publix review soon for the other West Ave. location, since I do enjoy shopping at that one! Stay tuned. read more

Publix wher shopping is a pressure the prices are ridiculous for the poor selection. They are using the same marketing tactic Costco uses, two or three expensive products and theirs and is leaving no much choice and eliminating good and cheaper one. At least Coscot has quality read more

The most unorganized publix ever. Their staff is clueless but polite. The layout makes no sense. Their app is so difficult bad month user friendly that makes waiting at check out. They're always out of stick on popular items. Extremely over prices. I order from amazon and Walmart. They're cheaper, free shipping, no searching isles. Today their were tiny gnats or mealy bugs circling the fruit. To top it off someone stole my iPhone there and you have to wait to get into garage because locations is absurd. read more

Friday at 8 PM, this is the closest Publix to me so I go there every several days and consistently get what I need and the staff is always friendly. They do a pretty good job with inventory but just a couple things held me back from adding that 5th star. When you run out of the meat sale item please note it on the sign so people don't have to dig to "just make sure" and always check on the carts piling up just outside the door. It really creates a jam coming in and out of the store. Derica (cashier), the young man helping bag groceries and the man stocking shelves made sure to ask if I was getting what I wanted, all did a nice job. Sorry I did not get their names. read more

Excellent store with plenty of choice at good prices. Lady at the cash out was really nice. Will be returning back when we need to.

Friendly clerks with so much patience for the hundreds of locals and tourists who stream in every hour of every day. There is a sense of excitement in this Publix that keeps you walking quickly down the aisles. Smaller than the average suburban supermarket certainly but they have everything you need. Including laundry quarter s and a scale to weigh yourself or your suitcase. I am glad I have been affirmed when reading the other yelp reviews that the parking garage is cramped. However, its free for2 hours. As a local I try to park in zone 2 and walk to my car. Also that means I never buy too much to carry. So I end up back here almost every day buying the 2 for ones and their lucious grapes and nice red tomatoes. read more

Customer service sucks here! NO ONE says,.excuse me or thank you and everyone looks as if they hate their jobs.

Basically I like this Publix , but don't go there after 8 pm ( even they are open till 11 pm!) they have usually nothing in the warm section ( no grilled or fried chicken ) they have always always !!!! No Bread in their sandwich station to make the Publix Sandwiches when you ask why they just say I'm sorry we have no bread - don't even try to complain to a manager they make it your fault they give you the answer you have to order online your sandwich - what a joke !!! Me and many other friends got there already in fights with mangers they just play and argue with you that's your fault that you want to order a sandwich or want to buy a whole chicken at 8 pm .!!!! I got in a fight myself with such a manager name was Julian. This Publix could be great but needs desperate new managers who understand customer Service !!!!! read more

I live on South Beach, much closer to this store that the one on 19th, but I just couldn't deal with this one. The garage is a nightmare. I have no idea why it was approved. It's an invitation to crash. That said, the 19th St Publix was closed due to flooding a couple of weeks ago, so I had to go to this one. I was surprised at how much better the selection was. I though both stores would sell the same stuff. Nope. This one sells lots of grass-fed anti-biotic-free indian meat meals in the freezer. I can't find them anywhere on 19th. I believe it sells my coveted Tortilla Factory stuff. I hate hate hate the garage. I had to make a 6-point-turn to get out of my most recent parking space. coming from nyc I thought this was a parking station. when people guided me to the nearest grocery I really thought they were telling me that the parking station had food too. the P sign that im use to in nyc means parking haha. I came here in 2011 and never thought of writing a review on this place until I found the receipt. its like a nyc pathmark. big and roomy. the people are nice and its clean. its a definite if you want to get some food other than take out. its the closest one to the ocean drive and party central. My go to Publix in south Beach! great wine and beer selection - always fresh food and produce - kindly checkers - and free 2 hour parking!

This place was fine. Sandwich line was very backed up when we went at 2:30pm. Service was ok but not stellar. It seemed like a decent size store with a lot of options and the lady at the checkout was friendly. read more

I absolutely LOVE this Publix. Super clean, tidy, organized and a huge variety of edibles. The deli is amazing as well. I don't see why people complain about the parking, I never have any problems and I drive a manual transmission car. People are very friendly here, the staff is extremely helpful and paying was a breeze. Maybe this will restore my faith in going grocery shopping again. Maybe. Oh and if you haven't already... get a sub, any sub, from the deli. Oh. My. Goodness! To die for! read more

About as much fun as one can have grocery shopping. A notch above its peers, this Publix is enormous with ample parking. The extra aisles of wine and cheese add an appropriate splash of Sobe into the mundanity of buying groceries. Two other bonuses - the TJ Maxx and Ross upstairs can quench the little shopping bug within, and the strategic locaiton near 5th Ave means this is where the gorgeous Sobe models come out to play (and do a little shopping). Fun is to be had by all! read more

Well managed location with free parking garage upstairs. Not as big as some other mainland locations and Whole Foods has better produce, but the prime location and strong brand name gets the job done here. read more

Went to Publix while visiting Miami Beach, they have good selection of items. It is close to other stores like BestBuy, Staples, etc. I know it can get busy over there. All and all I would visit this place again whenever I am in miami beach read more

This is one of the better Publix options in town. It has a parking garage that gives you 2 hours free parking, the selection is better than other Publix that I have been too and the layout is great. read more

This Publix has become my go-to grocery store primarily due to proximity. The parking garage never ceases to make me nervous with people zipping around the corners and whatnot...but I like that parking is free for up to two hours (no need to validate or anything...just grab a ticket on your way in and feed it back into the machine on your way out) and that there are always plenty of parking spaces. The elevator system is very confusing (as some other reviews mention, certain elevators only go to certain floors) and always stifling hot. The actual store is great though--wide aisles, good selection, good prices and deals. The layout is a little confusing and I'm not sure why it's organized the way it is, but the staff is very helpful and nice. Check-out is quick as well! read more

Quite a trek to this supermarket from a lot of places in Miami beach however at least they provide a supermarket when no other major supermarkets do. It is on the pricier side although it is miami beach so understandable. Good selection. Great bakery and hot food section if you are after something on the go. Highly recommend the chicken tenders! read more

Best Publix in Miami. An entire aisle is dedicated to organic and Greenwise food which I am a huge fan of. I don't know of any other Publix that has this. They have such a large selection of organic produce. Besides that, the aisles are long and spacious so you don't bump into anyone or have to say "Excuse me" so they can move out of the way. Parking is free with validation. We've never had any issues with employees or any items being unavailable. Even though we live on Brickell, we make the drive to this Publix because it's a real pleasure grocery shopping here. read more

I was very excited when this public opened, and was a regular here for months, abandoning the star wars publix up on West. The nice thing about this publix is the it is clean, well laid out, wide isles, plenty of help, and has that new store shine to it. But, I did leave to return to the old publix for a few basic reasons. This new publix is much more popular, and is in turn busier. There is tons of parking, but you have to use a ticket to get out, though it is free, and since the parking is shared by other stores there is always a wait to leave. (How do so many people have no idea how to put a ticket into a machine properly?) The selection is awesome, but on busy days the store is often out of little things like A-1 or tuna packs. Never a real issue, but it does not happen on West because the crowds are smaller. This is a great chain, and second only to Kroger in my mind. I would not discourage anyone form visiting a local Pulix. read more

I love this Publix and glad its in the local neighborhood...8 block walk for me. Its in a perfect with Best Buy upstairs. The prices are slightly high but I have shopped at Walmart and Publix has many "matching" prices and sometimes a better deal than Walmart. I find some great deals at the local Publix on 6th Street. I go to Publix at least 2 times and always find some awesome deals like 2 for 1. I love the Publix staff...courteous and professional. The food is awesome and well-maintained. read more

Older Publix with the better layout (newer ones seem off to me). Parking can be a chore.

I mean it's Publix, what can I say, they're the best grocery chain on the planet. New Yorkers only dream of our Publix deliciously crafted subs. This particular Publix never really has long lines and their employees are great as expected. Keep up the good work! This is the only Publix that I have ever been to where you can spend $500 to $1000 per month on groceries and they NEVER have a roll of quarters that they are either willing or able to exchange for $10. The management team is incompetent and incapable of planning accordingly. This has been the case since this store opened a few years ago. I live in Miami more then one year and I go in this publix twice a week for buy all that I need for cooking at home. I like it because they have different kind of vegetables and fruits. The staff is nice and help me with smile every time that i need. read more

Publix has been around for many many years. It reigns when it comes to the amount of store chains they have in Florida, but personally, I think they could do much better when it comes to stocking food items. Many times I have been there, and they seldom have "everything" I want. If they were consciencious, and wholly concerned about the diversity of foods that exist nowadays, I think they would be excellent, but they are not. They also have ignorant customer service people. I recently called them to ask if they had an item that I needed, so that I wouldn't waste a visit, and the person who answered put me on hold a long time. She transferred me to someone else who put me on hold. And when the person finally answered, they said "One moment, I'll check." I expect an established store such as Publix to be more organized, and concerned enough about customers, that they would always be prepared for such questions. Well, that's it. Prefer Wholefoods: they have wonderful sales there, as well as great organic foods. read more

I really like Publix because I can walk there as I do not have a car. I do have a problem with the bakery since they do not know how to make cannoli which I love. They insist on covering it with chocolate AND chips, not filling it all the way thru with filling & the cone tastes like cardboard. In the hot foods section I bought an egg roll which was not fried properly & was filled with only shredded cabbage & carrots which had black spots on them. I am from NYC so I know what good Italian & Chinese food is and this is not it. I had to throw both of these items out which I really cannot afford. otherwise I like choices that they offer. Just don't attempt something that is out of your league. read more

Overall this is a clean grocery store with some great bargains and sales. It is well stocked, and they provide free parking (up to a point). We got extremely lost from the parking garage to the floor that Publix was on because there was no signage on the ground floor where we came out of the elevator (very frustrating). There's massive signage then all of sudden, NONE. The meat/poulty selection also seems a little thinner here than the average supermarket. Overall I will shop here and am very thankful they have this store in South Beach! p.s. - please add some fresh squeezed o.j. to this locale - it's Florida afteralll!!! read more

If I can put no star I will do ..this store didn't want me to go inside the store with my maltese sevice dog ... I am handicap and my dog was in the bag and the security in front of the store is so bad ..I ask the policy of the store instead I got the manager ..She did not want to show me the policy ...never again in publix ..I can t believe it ...Dog friendly don t go there ...please ..whole food in alton 11th is better and same prize .... read more

I gotta comment on this store. I've been coming here since it opened and last weekend was just awful. Normally I go I and go straight to get my items and for some crazy reason, this Publix has rearranged all the items in different aisles, causing chaos. One item that used to be in one aisle is now in a new aisle. Most of the items I simply don't understand why it's in certain aisles. It doesn't belong there. We're the management on drugs and just one day decided to rearrange all the items in different aisles? Gotta be kidding me. Took me 2 hours to get my things and Check out bc of all the confusion from costumers. Going back to the old Publix or new One. This one is too crazy. Giving it a few months for the chaos to change and customers learn we're the items are again. Then I'll return. read more
