Absolutely love when bodegas / small grocery stores have a steam table with hot Cuban food. Their lunch options aren't as varied as other places nearby, but the taste is still delicious. Also, pretty good sized portion, could possibly be stretched across two meals if you're not super hungry. Picadillo Meal: So many great spices in this minced beef dish. Nice green onion slices too. Goes perfectly with the white rice. Simple, yet hearty. Lots of sweet plantains too, if you choose that as a side. Pot Roast Meal: This is pretty hearty! The beef chunks were dense and meaty. There was a very nice stew sauce that was generously doled out with the meat and over the rice. I like how there were some red beans today, nice and soupy, to go over the rice. And lots of plantains. Pork Meal: I arrived a little early (11:30am or so) and saw a fresh roasted pork leg! I was honored to be the first person to break into that lechon. Paired with fried rice and yucca it was such an amazing meal. Can't believe it was just $10.99 and it was like the portion of two meals. Pan de Bono: Cheesy bread that is buttery and chewy. The perfect morning snack. Tequeño: Ugh, probably the worst tequeño I had. Not much cheese and the outer shell was hard and kinda stale. read more

Yahoo, they've reopened at long last. A real grocery on south beach. Prices are normal, and bargain for the area. Produce, meats, wine and dry goods. So happy to heave them back. Cashier was sweet and stocking assisted multiple customers to find things. Store was very clean. read more

I have shopped in this amazing supermarket for years ever since I started cruising n 8 out of 10 cruises were out of Miami. I came here to buy coke, yogurt exotic tropical fruits such as guava, pomegranate passion fruit etc...Cuban coffee n deli food such as empanadas. For some reason they went out of business n it's now reopened most probably under new ownership. I was so excited I found fresh coconut yogurt n banana, I was buying bananas n yogurt fr Washington market before I found out this place has reopened. The other folks ripped off customers the yogurt was $1.29 vs 89c here. I'd rate 5 stars if I had more gone here earlier to buy more stuffs, highly recommended in this expensive town. read more

Of all the bodegas and mini-groceries that line Washington Ave in South Beach, this is unquestionably the best. For one thing, it's the biggest-- maybe twice the width of most of the others, with a corresponding increase in selection. For another, it's got the biggest produce section with the best selection. (That's one of the most important features in a mini-mart since produce is one of the things that you're least able to stock up on once every week or two at Publix.) It's also bright, clean, and generally not disgusting-- three features that many of the others cannot boast. read more

If you're around the area and need some basic produce or toiletry, this is one of the best places to go... Sometimes A LOT of things sell out, but then get replaced the next day. They need to straighten up their Supply and Demand ratios. Deco taxes high on "branded" items, this is why I rate 4 stars. Apart from taxing high on branded items, the rest is relatively cheap. If you really need to buy produce, I wouldn't rely on going here. You never know if they'll actually have what you need,( it is all limited). Don't expect Freshmarket or WholeFoods quality because you'll be very disappointed. Imagine a grocery dollar store, that's Art Deco. Stayed at a hotel up the street from this market when I was in South Beach on vacation a couple weeks ago. It was perfect for getting items that I could make a quick lunch with and eat out on the front porch of my hotel. I especially loved their Lobster Bisque and the sushi trays that they had available. Yum! They had a little bit of everything, and this definitely helped make my vacation that much more relaxing. I didn't have to go far for snacks, pop, beer, quick lunch/dinner foods, or even forgotten toiletries. The only reason this place gets 4 stars and not 5 is because the people who worked their seemed to expect me to speak in Spanish at times. i understand South Florida has many Spanish speaking residents, but it is still in the USA.. I'm still going to speak my language where I pay with US currency! Also,. they couldn't have been more obvious that they really didn't want to be working at that moment. Living on the beach can be a bit expensive so when bargains come around I tend to jump on them like white on rice. I get the circulars from this market on a regular basis, but never did pay much mind to them since I did most of my food shopping at Publix. Recently I started to take a peek at them and noticed that they often have some great deals. For example I managed to snag 2 12 packs of Kirin beer for 7.99 each and I had an additional $1off coupon bringing them to $6.99 each. This week they have boneless chicken breast for $1.99lb. Now I only tend to grab their sale items given that their regular items are a bit pricier then Publix (a no brainer since it's a small market and not a super chain). Their hot prepared food is great and they also often have great sales on their deli meats and cheese. I now find myself checking their circular on a regular basis given the amount of great sales they have and I would advise you to do the same. Happy shopping. I love this market I used to go in every morning for cuban coffee, and toasted cuban bread. They have a large selection of prepared cuban foods, and pasteries. If you cannot make it to publix , and are in this area this is a great super market. They have very fresh produce, prices are a bit higher then publix I guess you pay for the convience of being right in the heart of South Beach. They pretty much have everything you need a great chip,cheese,candy,produce, and meat selection. read more

I went to buy some beers, the receipt said markdown $3.50 and I was charged 'full price' $5.49,, I asked the manager why and he said the full price was $9.99, I went back to the beer section and told him about the discrepancy in prices, the regular price is $5.49, then he got offensive and started to raise his voice. Customers need to be treated nicely in any public place. One beer cost $1.99 how in this store a four packs cost $9.99. I'm a senior citizen. read more

I am on South Beach so I was expecting high prices. The employees were very nice but if you want to meet one of the grumpiest most unfriendly store managers ever....meet the one that was doing day shift t on January 28, 2013. He was genuinely NOT NICE and he made the shopping experience unpleasant. The man at the deli was great and so was the lady at the take out. The ladies at the cash register were fine but he was terrible and there is no need to go on but if you don't like working with people...he should quit. i was ready to walk out at one point when I asked a question, but I needed food and this is the ONLY store around. I would have bought more if he was approachable. I could tell by the employees faces when I repeated what he said that they appeared to be flustered. Apparently I don't just look like a criminal, I look like a dumb criminal (because who makes counterfeit $5 bills?) So, I bought a bunch of bananas and a bottle of water, which was around $3. I thought using a five dollar bill as I thought that would be the best option for both of us. Little did I know what was to come. The cashier proceeded to examine it *very* closely for a good minute or two. Then she got out the counterfeit pen thingy and wrote on my money. She seemed to question the results and colored on it some more, presumably hoping it would yield different results if she kept coloring on it. To no avail she then consulted her coworker. They were speaking Spanish in a low tone so I didn't catch what they were saying, but at any rate this was getting ridiculous. Then she took another minute or two to scrutinize the money a little longer. By this point I asked her if she needed me to just use a card. At that point she finally gives me my dollar and change. The whole thing was not a huge deal, of course. I understand the need to verify paper money these days, but the whole thing was just pretty stupid and super inconvenient for a convenience store. Nice little shop right near where we are staying. I agree with the other reviews that this is definitely the biggest and nicest of these small markets. Sure, its more expensive than your average big box grocer, but for a local market in South Beach the deals were good. Nice selection of breads and unique deserts. Some ok fruits and cheeses as well. I walk here to buy basic stuff - eggs, cuban bread, milk, chicken, wine, etc. Prices on those types of items are reasonable esp for the beach and better than really any other option within walking distance (Publix is a drive for me, though less expensive on certain things & much more selection). Nice market for basic food and supplies while visiting the area. The prices seemed reasonable and they have a nice selection of grocery items even though from the outside they look like a small place. The deli counter had good quality products and I always enjoy fresh sliced cheese and meat rather than prepackaged. The fresh fruit and vegetables were in great shape. I love this place...! They have a buffet counter type of thing for to go food, and it's great. They have mostly Latin food there but sometimes cary the portions are generous the price is great (6$) and the ladies there are super friendly... As for the market it also very nice nice selection of all types if food wine and beer...4 stars only because there buffet thingy should be open later and it's so hard to park it being on Washington ave. read more

I live close by I rather walk or pay a cab to Publix or Whole Foods than to shop at the Art Deco Market, if I need water I buy it at the 7/11 or CVS, so happy they're going to open a Wallgreens on 14 and Collins it will be my new shopping place for water, soda, wine and chips can't wait. read more

I bought a box of pasta the other day and there were LIVE INSECTS in it and the pasta was molded and disgusting. I called to talk to a manager and they transferred me to a lady who was completely rude, barely spoke English clearly or properly, didn't know what she was talking about and talked over me, interrupted me constantly , and wouldn't even hear me out. This is the WORST supermarket ever- I would never go back here and give them a penny of my business and you shouldn't either. They should be ashamed of themselves for selling customers pure garbage.
