Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a truky heartfelt way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities where Publix opens a location are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I just move back to Florida after 22 years and one of the things they craved most, one of the first things that I got when I moved back here, was a Publix sub with boars head meat. There was a bit of a wait, but it was completely worth it and the associates were very friendly and accommodating. I've been a Publix shopper for many years. The customer service has really gone down. I know that when I worked for the company in my youth, the customer service was top tier. I took pride in providing excellent service. Now, the majority of the staff look like they wished they were anywhere but there. The managers look miserable and they probably are. Unfortunately this trickles down to their employees. How can they expect their employees to thrive under people with poor leadership skills? Yes normally, they make it right in front of you- but since it was so busy, she used another counter where I could only see her back. After I told Kathrine, my sub was incorrect- she proceeded to tell me "She didn't have time to make it" I asked to speak to a manager, Jake. I love Publix. Let me start by saying that. Now that I've gotten that out of the way... PLEASE inspect and remove ALL the feathers from your Deli Fried Chicken. It is so tasty, but the fried feathers turn my stomach and have become ubiquitous with your product. I've noticed it more on the hot-wings & drumsticks, but also sometimes on the normal fried chicken. read more

This is a pretty standard Publix. We like to come here after we hit the gym nearby. It's clean and everything is well stocked. The deli area can get busy from time to time. But that just gives an indecisive person like me more time to make a decision. As always, I recommend the Publix bottom round roast beef. My wife and I think it's better than the top round. They also have these rolls they make that make the best buttered toast ever! I'll be sure to include a pic soon so you know which ones I'm talking about. read more

When they say come to Publix, where shopping is a pleasure, they really mean it. Publix is one of the most consistent customer satisfaction businesses. No matter which lication you go to it's always the same. The food quality is excellent and the staff is always friendly. Publix was one of the few grocery stores who made sure that they had generator power in case they needed to be open after hurricane Irma. I was completely embarrassed as I was walking out of Publix in the Rio Pinar plaza today. I had purchased crab like I always do when on sale today. As I was at the register and paid for my groceries and the bagger suggested I get the crab steamed at the store because that's what most customers do. I had never had them steamed there so I went back to the sea food department and asked if I could get them steamed and he politely said "yes". I waited about 8-10 minutes and he gave me the bag back and because I paid I didn't think anything of it and proceeded to walk out of the store. A Publix employee who I believe worked in loss prevention stopped me at the door and rudely said "excuse me, what about the crab legs?" You just got that bag from the sea food department". I explain to her that I had already paid for them which she didn't believe me and continuously asked how I got the crab legs. I showed her my receipt and said the price was different. I never once opened the bag or modified the price in anyway, I just explain to her I got them steamed.. she said rudely again the price was less than $1.50 higher because I got them steamed. First off I didn't even know there was a cost difference because I was not told secondly I only got them steamed because they advised me to. Her and another manager then advised me that I couldn't get the bag of crab because I got them steam and that they would have to refund me. I told her I wanted the crab and she said I would have to get a new bag but they wouldn't give me that one. I asked why and they said because there was a price difference. Long story short they refunded my card and I re-paid again getting the same bag they told me I couldn't get which was NOT even an offer to do until I asked to pay. Upsetting as it was and I felt like they looked at me like if I was trying to steal the crab by initially speaking to me as if I already took the bag out of the store. I am disgusted by the management and how they handled this situation and hopefully never have to go through this again!!! read more

It's really nice that they took the time to implement the social distancing walkways, but it's so annoying when people don't follow the rules. This Publix has the worst produce department around. I am currently inspecting the cherries I packed in my lunch (purchased yesterday) and nearly half of them have brown soft spots or white fuzzy stuff. Yuck. And this isn't a rare occurrence. I once picked up a cantaloupe and my fingers went through the soft rind of the thing (OK, that was a couple years ago, but I'll never forget the feeling). And strawberries are frequently going bad inside their cartons. So, I don't usually shop here, much less buy produce. Except for yesterday when I ran in for a couple things and those cherries caught my eye. I can't believe I did that! In general, this Publix is just fine, but stay away from the produce. read more

Publix is King. For cleanliness, for customer service and for quality of products carried. If you want top notch cold cut meats, Boar's Head is tough to beat. If you are looking for a deal then pay close attention to their BOGO's. Everything else "buyer beware." Local grocery store close to home so I do most of my shopping here. They have hard to find vegan ingredients, and dinosaur BBQ sauce from my hometown! Great selection of items and well organized. Still doesn't have a great prepared food section like wegmans, but really who else can do as good as wegmans. The staff here are always so nice and helpful, and everyone always has a smile. Whoever is in charge of hiring and training has done a great job with the employees. They make you feel like family. read more

I have shopped this Publix since I was a little girl. It was recently remodeled and expanded a few years ago. I have three Publixs that are very close to where I live. I prefer to go to this Publix. Service is always helpful. The store is also always clean. They never question when you return anything either. A few years ago, I purchased a eighty dollar cake from Publix for my sons birthday. The cake was supposed to have buttercream frosting. They messed up and put whipped instead. Of course, I didnt realize this until the party. I returned the uneaten cake and they actually gave me all my money back because I was so unhappy! The prices can be high but shop the BOGO(buy one get one) deals and bring coupons and you can save a ton! read more

We just got back from Orlando. Stayed at Old Key West. We usually did our grocery shopping at Goodings but decided to try Publix this time. It's a little further away but we heard the fried chicken are amazing. Goodings is 24 hours and the location is really convenient to all kinds of other businesses. Publix is a little further away. The parking lot is more manageable because it's a smaller mall. We loved the fried chicken. Started eating it while we were shopping. We were in Orlando nine days and probably had their chicken three times. We are a fan of this supermarket Very clean and pleansant to shop at this store. read more

The deli/sub shop has really gone to crap. We shop here and spend so much money. We ordered online and waited 20 minutes to go pick up the sandwiches only to find out they didn't even start them. This location is newish. The old Rio Pinar Publix moved over a tad bit in the same plaza several years ago. This location does have a good latin food selection in the bakery. They'll usually carry guava pastries, flan, and sometimes on rare occasions, tembleque. Its not the best Ive had, but its quicker than cooking it myself. The deli also has fried plantains, rice, empenadas, and rellenos de pappas (potato balls). I'll usually grab a few potato balls for a snack. They are kinda hard for me to make, so I'd rather buy them. If you havent had one, go grab one here. Their beer selection isnt bad either. read more

They had little parking to begin with and the management building is building at Starbucks drive-thru in the middle of the parking lot. I have shopped at this Publix since I was 20, and I am now 46. I've been around for a couple of renovations and moves to other parts of the plaza. I think I have only complained two times in the 26 years I have shopped here, once when I new deli clerk was so unbelievably rude to me that my jaw dropped. It was witnessed by a few customers who spoke to the manager at the time...I had not been the one to say anything, but the manager came to me to ask about the incident. I noticed the rude person was not there the next time I went in. Yes, you are going to have the occasional jerk be rude to you, but they don't put up with it. Those people don't tend to stay employed very long at this store. I think what has changed in the 26 years that I have shopped there is the customers. I believe that most of the people here that complain are part of the problem....not the people who work here. The only people I ever see being rude when I am here, is the customers. I actually feel sorry for the people who work here, and the abuse that they get from rude customers. I always go out of my way to be friendly to my cashier and other workers in the store. Coupon people are the WORST! They get mad when they don't follow the rules and get called on something not being accepted, and then they turn around and treat the cashiers like they are being rude. People go through the check out line on their phones and don't even look at the cashiers, something I refuse to do, as I find it extremely rude to do that. I like this Publix so much that when I go to another Publix, it does not feel like home, like this one does. I live in Rio Pinar, and all of the long time customers like me that have shopped here for years....at least all of the ones that I talk to, we all agree that it is a great store and has great people. The only thing that has changed is the rude customers that seem to be taking over the store. I hope this Publix knows how much this store means to me. When I am on vacation, or out of town and go to another store, it just feels strange not to be at my Publix. Yep, this one is home. read more
