The store is huge. I would think it would compare to the food section of Costco or Sams. Now to my issues. I am handicapped and there are very few parking spots. My main problem with this store is their baggers. I am 78 years old and my husband is 91 years old and we need our bags to be packed lightly. We bring our own bags. Yet, no matter what we say, they insist on putting a half gallon of milk in a bag along with a bag of apples and a bottle of olive oil!!! I stand there and ask them to repack some bags once in a while yet this problem persists. It is one thing to pick up the bag and place it in the cart but another when I then must put it into the car, then out of the car at home, up some steps and then lift it to the counter. I get these looks as if I am asking too much of them. They need re-training is all. Otherwise, I enjoy my shopping experience at this Publix. read more

A male grown man who was a customer was witnessed not wearing a mask, picking his face and touching the food. I'm aware the staff regularly clean the items for sale but they need to be doing a better job REQUIRING the use of facial coverings for ALL customers. The alcohol wipes have now been removed from the front of the store which is a huge risk during this pandemic. I asked the lady cleaning the carts where the sanitizing wipes went and she looked at me like I was crazy. I have been shopping here for nearly a decade and they have ALLWAYS been there. read more

I love my local store. There's one closer to where I live but I choose this location off 66th. The employees are extremely friendly and they have so many great grab and go options. Manager Amy greets me with a smile if she's working, which I love! After shopping here I go over to see Miles, Pam and Jules at the liquor store which is also my go to spot. I went to go pay and I couldn't double click my phone because of my case, I was trying to get my case off. ABIGAIL the bagger was very rude and rushing me she said "my case works fine....just double tap it.....you have to put it here" but it wasn't in a helpful way she was very rude and has an attitude. Should work on being friendly to customers. Management should also work on having more than one person at the sand which station. We watched the guy make 8 sandwiches in a row without help when there was another employee just standing there doing absolutely nothing. read more

Publix is always my go to for necessities in grocery shopping. Today, we were on our way to a house party/get together and needed to pick up a "covered dish Item" since I didn't have time to make anything, I asked the husbeast what he thought about Publix Fried chicken, he was A-OK with that. The store was neat and clean, the staff members were courteous, and even reminded us that since we'd basically picked up the fried chicken meals, we could get a pack of Kings hawaiian rolls to go with it. Today was the day Publix. Today was the day. Let me first start off by talking about their deli department. The deli has major issues, you could be the only customer standing at the counter and there could be six or seven employees back there. They will glance at you and ignore you patiently waiting until they are spoken to. Even then they will tell you that they will be with you in a moment. We are customers. We are priority. If there's a group of you one of you stop and come help the customer waiting to be helped. No one should be waiting if there's no line and a group of your employees back there. Do not ignore your customers. We are the reason Publix is in business. Don't you even think about calling in to the store to place an order for a sub. Unless you want it totally ruined. The crazy part is they will read the order back to you and still mess it up. Not a little. They will mess it up a lot. Toppings will be all wrong , toppings will be missing etc. without fail. Same goes for online order. You're going to have to go in and be ignored for 15 minutes with no line in order to get what you need. It's the only way they won't make a mistake. Now let's travel on down to the meat department. No where near as bad as the deli but, hey, they're on their way. God forbid you ask them to split something for you or custom cut something in the later afternoon. You will receive attitude. Sometimes they will flat out refuse. Tell you that they have to charge you more if they split the package up etc. Also the beef is not very good quality. Very little marbling throughout. Not worth the price. Produce department always has fresh produce and good customer service. Same thing with bakery. Dry grocery could have more of a selection especially in the spices/seasonings area. Front end customer service is on point. Please Publix fix the deli problems and have a talk with them about their customer service. It's bad. read more

Their deli sucks. Save your time and don't do online ordering. 75% of the time it's not ready or being made. We've even tried going late - no problem it's not there. Management doesn't seem overly concerned we need more competition. Shopping is no longer a pleasure. read more

Horrible managers on the weekend. They can't walk to get a price when they're missing a code. They would rather make you wait and cause a long line until produce picks up or walks over. This store is always beautiful, clean, and has great staff. For locals, nothing better than a covered garage and escalator ride to pick up the weeklies. During the summer and spring it keeps you from having to do the infamous grocery cart dash to avoid rain. The deli/bakery at this store is a little more lacking than some other Publix's in the area - so if you are in a pinch and need a cake or platter or sub probably not the best option. This Publix is your fairly typical Publix. Not bad but not great either. The one off 66th and 18th is much nicer and has higher class shoppers. This store has great staff but a lot of low class shoppers. It's always a good bit of fun to see the outfits people of Pinellas park wear in public wear though. So I do recommend. read more

What a nice store! The staff is always friendly and helpful. Any time I needed assistance, first member of staff I saw, was very knowledgable and able to help. Very clean and the lines are never long. The reason why I gave 4 and not 5 stars, is their bakery. I think, it's much smaller than at other stores. At times I wasn't able to pick up my morning bagels, because they "weren't ready yet." Also, if you like the deli lunch deal, the choices of sides are very limited. Great all around grocery stroe. Not as cheap as Walmart, not as fancy as spaciality grocery stores, but just an all around good grocery store with a little of everything. They have a good sandwich counter and they also have most cleaning and general house supplies you would want as well as a good and complete selection of groceries. One of the better Publix stores in the area. I love that all the Greenwise products are in one location...makes it easy for me to get what I need without running up and down every aisle. It's always clean and Publix really knows how to do customer service. Sometimes I like to ask the employees if they know where something is just to see if they don't, and it has never happened. They must have them memorize the aisles when they are hired :) hehe Publix is always my number one go to grocery store. THE EXCEPTION JUMPS OUT AND "BITES" YOU P#11 5/17 Every so often, the exception to the rule exists so strongly that it can't be denied. The ability to shine shows up in the actor who "becomes the character" so perfectly that he actually needs a psychiatrist to put him back into his previous personality after the movie is finished. This actually happens on occasion. As does the writer who writes a book and each and every time that she kills off a character, "cries her eyes out" for each and every one of them. If you visit the Publix store at 1700 34th Street No in St Petersburg, you may notice Nick who is a "front end manager." He works so quietly and industriously that he seems to go unnoticed. However, he seems to be everywhere at the same time. If a register needs a bagger for a few minutes, he is there. If another register needs to be opened, he is all over that. The service is so exceptional when he is present, it is very hard not to realize that NICK is an "anomaly." He is the exception to every rule, because he seems to be the total collection of what he should be at each and every given moment. So, for R.E.S.P.E.C.T. at the cash register, "go here!!" And if you visit the Publix store at 3900 66th Street No in St Petersburg, and you experience the deli, you will probably see another "anomaly" at work. Because, when it comes to customer service, their asst. mgr. is the best that I have seen in over 10 years that I have been shopping at Publix store delis. Allow me to explain. I classify Publix deli mgrs./assts. in three different categories. The "C" deli mgr./asst. works very hard. S/he is very industrious realizing that Publix, like most successful businesses, has a tough labor chart which is not a cake walk to satisfy. So that person spends much time stocking shelves and doing busy work to make sure that it gets done. But this mgr./asst. does not have a real good realization of what is actually going on at the service counter and is not real effective at jumping in to help customers. This person may be at least slightly disconnected from the "front line," possibly from becoming "rusty." The "B" deli mgr./asst. also is very industrious, and works very similarly, but watches the service counter better. But s/he hesitates to jump in until a customer stands at the service counter for 5 or 6 minutes before reacting. S/he seems to think that everything is alright if there are no more than 3 to 5 customers, (assuming 2 slicers), at the counter at any given time. However, after the customer stands there for several minutes, the damage is already done. But, the "A" deli mgr./asst. gets involved EARLY AND OFTEN. This person is very skilled at slicing and at sandwich making and stays polished at both from being involved "up to their neck" each and every time that the need arises. This mgr./asst. knows that there are 2 kinds of leaders. One says, "Go and fight," and the other says, "Follow me." The "A" deli mgr./asst. says, "Follow me." S/he is ready to do whatever other employees are expected to do when the necessity arises. S/he knows the limitations of each and every one of their employees, and reacts immediately to "stop the bleeding" before it starts. S/he makes the deli experience equally pleasant whether the deli has a sudden influx of customers or not. S/he does needed management duties around being available at the service counter when needed. S/he puts the customer first in every situation, or at least it appears that way to the customer. What could be more important?? The most effective "A" deli mgr./asst. which I have seen is SARA at the 3900 66th Street store. So, for R.E.S.P.E.C.T. at the deli, "go here!!" Stop and visit THE BEST. Tell Nick or Sara that "Keith" sent you. YES, every once in a while THE EXCEPTION JUMPS OUT AND "BITES" YOU. However, I promise you that neither Sara, nor Nick ever bites. It`s a grocery store thats about it. I`m not really in to pubics my self there bread is doey and full of yeast. The chicken is greasy and makes me run for the pepto bizmol, and the staff is overly nice like fake nice or nice bitchy. This store is fair sized though even though they are way over priced then the other area markets for the same identical items. Honestly in my opinion if you have enough to spend here, i would just buy my groceries on amazon.com and have them delivered to your door. I will ocassionally shop in this store for a trip ware i only buy one item or 2 but thats it. To exprensive for the same things u can get anywhere else. I dont like being pestered witj atention either my trip to the grocery store is my trip from home i want nothing but to not be noticed and not be asked how im doing. This never happens at publix this location or Ny other. And its always over weight people like women with there knockers draging the floor or Or fat bad bodied yupies and big belly men and women. I mean why eat more unhealthy and walk out the store with like 5 bags or less like you see nearly every customer max there pockets at leaving any given publix. I can get a whole cart of produce meets and all kinds of good stuff thats way bigger healthier meals for the same price as ill walk out of publix with only 5 bags or less. And i can check my self out there not pay some dunce to go threw plesantries with me. Like pay a dollar more for soda 2 dollars or more a pound for beef or 2 dollars more on the litle fruit proteen smoothies they have in wally farts for 3.50 for a 32 oz bottle for only a what a 12 16 oz bottle at puebics. Have fun spending more so some dumby kisses your rump with the good ol boy attitude but ill get more healtjier for less.
