Decided to buy employee lunch today so placed an order online for 8-12" subs at 11:07 am. Online order said pick up would be ready at 1:15, told the crew it would be two hours everyone was ok with a late lunch. Got to Publix at 1:15 and the order was not out in the pick up area. Took 5 minutes to get someone's attention. Told her I had a 1:15 pick up for 8 -12" subs. She looked at me and disappeared. 5 minutes later I see her starting the order. in general, Publix is ok. but this review is vPublix brand food feedback. I tried their smoked pork, queso dip, which is sold in the deli area. Sounds good, right? well, NO. if you are ok with chunks of blubber in your food this dip is for you. I picked the fat out of every bite. A 16oz tub is 6 or $ 7.00.... cheese is more expensive than cheap pork, so you'd think corporate Might say add more pork and less cheese. But actually use pork rather than primarily fat. Never fear, they've got us covered w a corner of your beach need supplies: towels, coverups, folding beach chairs, small coolers, cup holders that keep it chilled, sun hats , and an entire wall of goggles, inflatables, and sand and water toys. Got goggles for my kids one pair broke immediately was no problem to exchange them for a better pair. read more

The employee was nice enough to go get fresh bread after I pointed it out but I was bugged out at that point. ( yes corny joke). I suggest they get a fly trapper of some sort near the back doors. This is a review for the instacart grocery pickup. Zero stars if I could. We order raw chicken breasts. We receive a rotisserie. We order 5 different types of fruit (bananas, apples, etc). Instead we receive TEN BOXES OF STRAWBERRIES. Like people I didn't even order strawberries -- I already got 3 boxes in my fridge. Order brown sugar, get white sugar. Order decaf coffee, get regular. I'm telling you, there's almost nothing they got right. Nothing. I will never, ever, be doing this again. Doubt I'll even get my money back. read more

The worst publix I've ever been to. It's so bad, you have to laugh. The deli line is so slow, and if you order ahead they simply won't make it. God forbid you come in after 8pm, they are already closing up and some of the cashiers will make you feel bad for coming in so late even though they close at 10. There are maybe two baggers at any given time, so you have to awkwardly bag your own groceries or wait for the cashier to finish scanning so they can bag your whole cart. I would love a self check out area in this place because frankly I could do it faster and not put eggs or raw chicken under jugs of orange juice or bottles of wine. I only give two stars because I have Stockholm syndrome; when I actually get a good customer service experience, it feels euphoric because it is so rare. read more

Horrible customer service at the sandwhich counter. First off, it took a while to get our sandwiches, but I understood that there's only one person working, so my boyfriend and I patiently waited. When it was our turn to order, the worker, La (I believe is her name) changed her attitude really quick and was so rude to the both of us for no reason. We then ordered and she seemed so pissed off at us that it made it uncomfortable to even order with her. Hopefully the next time I decide to get a sub she's not working because she made the experience so unpleasant. read more

I needed to write a review because I see this store has an unfavorable rating. I come here often when visiting my daughter and love this store. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The meat selection is excellent and produce is always fresh. People in St. Pete must be spoiled. I live in Windermere, FL and my Publix is very sub par compared to this one. The meat selection is about 1/4 of what the one in Maximo Mooring and no one asks you if you need help. Definitely love this store. Bring the managers from my Publix here to train!!! read more

Had a great experience today thanks to the nice deli/sandwhich counter Publix employee named Joe. This guy was phenomenal. I am sure employees are under a tremendous amount of stress with Covid safety measures and new protocols, not to mention having to deal with anxious shoppers. Even a simple stop to the grocery store these days can turn into a stressful ordeal. I felt so calm at the store today. Things were going smoothly in all departments as employees quietly and distantly stocked the shelves and assisted customers. Joe was so kind and attentive to my order (which was a large order). His patience and knowledge of the menu made my trip so much easier. Thank you! This means alot these days. read more

This Publix is a hop and a skip away from the one on 54th ave. S, so why go here? Because of the sushi selection! I often stop by Publix to grab sushi and this is the only Publix, so far, that I have found a Dragon Roll at. It has fish egg on top and a nice drizzle of a slightly spicy sauce. I'm actually surprised that I have not found it at any other Publix. I honestly go out of my way just to get the Dragon Roll at this Publix. Random bit of information, the parking is on a slant. I honestly do not know the pros and cons to why parking should be on a slant, but I do know an older lady once made me get back in my car to pull it up further. Make sure you pull your car up far enough when you park. read more

Parking lot is a little nightmarish with all the other stores in this area & the angled spots, but the store itself is very nice. Pricier sometimes but worth it, plus you can still find great deals with their sales. I love their $5 sushi on Wednesday - I have a shellfish allergy so it can be a struggle sometimes, but anytime an employee is near the seafood area they've always been willing to accommodate my allergy & make a roll for me right then & there. The produce here is so much better than the nearby Walmart so I don't mind paying a bit more for the better quality, especially during September when Saturday Morning Market in downtown St. Petersburg isn't happening. I also appreciate that they still ask paper or plastic - I use paper as often as possible & recycle that more easily in my dorm, so it'a nice to have the option over plastic. read more

Went to the Deli to get a chicken tender sub and couldn't have had a more unpleasant experience.. I was told the chicken would be 20 minutes and I was planning on waiting until being told off by the ghetto chick working there..the lady working was miserable and acted as if making a sandwich was a nuisance. Was rude to the people in front of me so attests I was prepared. I'm sorry you have had a long day and your by yourself but that's an issue for the store management not an excuse you mistreat customers.. the guy working the hot food where the rotisserie chicken is was great and should teach the lady working the deli how to act in a work environment. No wonder the sandwich's aren't as good here as the Pasadena location.. sandwiches are good but if it's 7pm on a Monday or whenever else this lady is working, your much better off at the wawa next door.. read more

The parking lot and the people surrounding it is a little scary. The store is limited in my opinion. Definitely has its pros and cons. I found out there is an app u can download to load digital coupons by that seems like it's all the perks they have. I was impressed that my nagger asked if I would like to have him load my bags in my car. Haven't had someone ask me that in a grocery store ever! They have the BEST fried chicken but when I got home I didn't think mine was very fresh like I'm used to. Great wine/beer selection! The store chain is slightly overpriced, with the exception of their BOGO deals. Publix brand frozen yogurt is soooo good and the deli sandwiches here cannot be beat. We miss those deli sandwiches since we moved to AZ!! read more

There's more Publix stores than you can shake a stick at here in Florida. Not a bad thing, they have a decent selection of products and wonderful brown rice sushi. Went to this one yesterday in search of some finger food/deli snacks. A demo person turned me on to Pita chips which she was serving with five kinds of hummus. They were selling buy one, get one free so I got some along with spicy hummus and lemon hummus. Their deli is so-so but their Lemon Pepper chicken was outstanding. Nicely roasted and full of flavor. A star off because they only had a few bottles of Mondavi in a small cooler. All the other wines were room temp and needed to be chilled. read more

We like Publics as it's one of the best place to shop and the employees for the most are great. My rating is for the section that makes the salads. We have been purchasing Publics salads for a long time. The two salads I purchased today were terrible. Ten - fifteen percent of the lettuce was brown. The Southern Cobb was the worst. They both looked good when I looked at them but the bad lettuce was hidden very good. The Trad Greek wasn't as bad but neither were up to Publics standards. It took me a while to get used to the layout of the new store, but now I love it. Clean, bright, spacious, well-stocked. Helpful, well-trained and cheerful staff. What more can you ask for in a supermarket? Great bakery? Great deli? Fresh produce? Yes it's all here. Never have a problem parking. I am a regular Publix shopper and I frequent a handful of locations throughout the area every week. I have purchased the chicken tenders at the location on 34th Street S and 54th Ave on almost every visit, but the past few visits they have been of very poor quality. They are tough, dry, very chewy, and not very tasty - and this includes tenders that are brought out fresh from the fryer. Compared to the other locations I visit, these are the worst - they used to be the best ones in comparison to other locations. The tenders are usually juicy and firm with lots of flavor. I hope they make a change if they have someone new cooking the tenders. read more

The worst Publix deli I've ever experienced. Frequently have to wait 15-20 minutes just to get a sub. If I order online and I arrive at the pick up time they have not even started making the sub. I've shopped at Publix for years. Overall, the chain as a whole is generally clean, fairly priced and overwhelmingly filled with polite, helpful people. Not so with this store. Yes, it is clean. The prices are fair. The staff in the deli, bakery, produce and meat departments seem consistent with the quality service I've come to expect from Publix. However the staff in the front checkout and bagging area are horrible. For the year that I have been going there I have consistently been disappointed and underwhelmed by the service as I check out. As a whole, the checkout staff are disinterested, rude and have a put-upon air about them as though I am wasting their time coming into the store and shopping. There is little if any eye contact, rarely a "Hello, how are you?" and virtually never a "Thanks for shopping here." It's the little things that keep people coming to any particular store and this one misses the mark every time with the message they send people out the door with. Shape up Publix, and hire some people that actually care about their jobs and employment. read more

Absolutely disappointed in the service I DID NOT receive in the Deli / Sub Department. I sat there patiently waiting ... The only person in line .. Wanting to order a sub the deli clerk did not acknowledge me at all. Instead she decide to start breaking down one side of the sub station while I sat there patiently.
