In the past six months, I returned Publix brand milk, four times, which spoiled a week before the expiration date. Many of the fruits Publix calls fresh, are frozen in the center and by the next day, turned rotten. I've returned oranges, pears and other fruits more than I care to mention. A favorite of mine is eggplant which is half rotten as it's being stacked on the shelves. Unforgivable!! Prices increased substantially as the quality of many products has gone out the window. The horrible reality is Publix isn't the only guilty market. As mothers shop, you can hear the word "no" repeadely being said to children mainly because the budget won't allow extras.

While in the new Publix on Cove Road my husband asked did they have ice cream cakes and they said yes, we make them to order. I never knew they did that! Finally a true birthday cake with the ice cream of your choice. The cake was delicious and looked fabulous. White and chocolate cake layers with cookies and cream ice cream. Decorated perfect and a yummy butter cream icing, 24.99. Highly recommend.

They have an excellent butcher that works long hours to bring you the best meats! Reasonable prices and quality meats. When I was talking about items you don't normally see, It would be the pickled pigs feet, pickled sausage and chicken feet. I love the pickled pigs feet but haven't and probably never will, try the chicken feet?! They still have the claws attached, which is fine and I'm sure they are delicious! They have a really good deli that you can order a take out meal or have them make you a sandwich. Deli meats and cheeses are top of the line. The produce department is beyond most and they have fresh from the farm vegetables. I love their sweet potatoes! Huge baking type! It is worth a stop and a walkthrough to take advantage of hometown grocery shopping at its best!

You can order food all the way at the back of the store. They also have ready to eat food and sides in the refrigerator section. I also ordered a double shot of ginger juice (which seemed more like a single shot in a tiny sauce container for $5), chicken shawarma platter and chicken Greek salad. For almost $17, the chicken shawarma was a bit disappointing in terms of portion size - it came with two sides, which we did French Fries and grilled veggies. Taste wise it was it was decent but I didn't get full from it. I went on a weekday afternoon and they had a steady stream of customers but only one guy manning everything so service was not the fastest. There were several tables available to dine in but most do take out.

They are still coming up to speed and not all the departments are at full throttle but form what I have seen so far, it is all decent. Of particular note are the meat / seafood and produce departments. Fruits and veggies are fresh and locally sourced in many instances. The meat department has butcher dudes working the counter and you can discuss what cuts of meat work for you etc. We have tried the store made sausage and steaks and have been pleased with both. Seafood is well done and presented too- the fishmongers can seemingly get what you want if they do not have it (and if it is available out there somewhere). We also tried their version of mahi fish-dip and it gets wiped out as soon as I bring it home. Prices are very good in these departments in particulalr and they have been runing weekly specials on these items - check their website as it changes every Thursday. There are also the deli, bakery, grab-n-go and dairy departments available. There is a pretty small smattering of other items such as spices and chips/dips available. Everyone working here is personable and happy to see you. Very good addition to the area and a much needed option vs Publix and the big-box stores. Parking in front.

When I think of anything farm-related, I automatically think of healthier food options--no mystery ingredients, fewer hormones, and less of the processed stuff we're all trying to avoid. Walking in, I was first greeted by the fruit section, which made me think it might be a pretty simple store... but I was definitely wrong. As I made my way inside, I discovered so much more. There's a pineapple station where a machine preps the fruit right out of the shell for you, which was really cool. Then there's a whole pizza and ice cream area with staff ready to help, plus premade pizzas you can take home and heat up. This is far from your typical basic grocery store. As you keep walking, the store just keeps going--it's much bigger than it looks from the outside. They do still seem to be filling in some sections, but there's already a lot to explore. The meat section advertises no hormones, which I appreciate, though I'd love to know more about sourcing since I've been trying to find higher-quality meats lately. They also have a small seafood section with fresh, wild-caught options, a sandwich counter for made-to-order subs and fresh-cut cold cuts, and even lobster rolls (I heard the owner is from Boston, which explains that--great addition!). There's a daily soup section and a coffee area as well, which looked fresh and inviting. What I really loved is how many items are available in customizable portions instead of just standard prepackaged goods--you can pick exactly what you want, which makes everything feel fresher and more intentional. What sets Publix apart from their competitors, well, there are actually a few huge differentiators. One reason is that their customer service is top notch. They really understand that the customer comes first and they do all they can to always make each trip to Publix a positive experience. They also have great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals. Two for the price of one is always a great deal. We also can never forget their subs made in their deli (affectionately called "Pub subs"). Being from New Jersey, one of the great places to get a sub, it us hard to state that a supermarket offers a great sub, but with Publix, it is a 100% true statement. My go-to subs are usually their Italian sub or their roast beef sub. Both are great choices and I would definitely recommend either of these great subs. This particular Publix location is definitely a good reflection of the Publix brand. The staff is friendly, the store has a pleasant enough ambiance while you do your grocery shopping, and again, we cannot forget their subs. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix supermarket. If you are in the area, go check them out.
